I fell in love with this car. I drove automatic one..Tho i had to sold it after 2 years because i didnt have enough money to maintain it, the xenons are too expensive. But one day i will get myself Skoda Rapid again i hope (just not automatic)...The car fits me very well
I was surprised by this little gem. My wife has a 2016 Spaceback Joy edition with the DSG-7 and the 1.4tdi. Was really impressed with the performance of this 3 cyl motor on the autobahn, but also the excellent fuel economy.
The styling is great, something different from the typical rounded blobby hatchbacks. I like the sleeker, more angular lines. Sensible pricing and the 1.2 engine packs a punch for it's size!
I bought the 1.6l diesel in 2014 and made it a taxicab. So far i count 880.000 km on the meter amd still goimg strong. I love the rapid! Best business partner i ever had!
Good review - We took delivery of our 1.4TDI SE Sport back in Jan of this year. Virtually the same car as you tested but in Red. Got no complaints, does what it says on the tin.
For the price and space, we think (as a family) that it is a fantastic car for daily, and motorway driving, especially with that 1.2 110ps petrol. I think that this review clearly indicates that. One thing you didn't mention is that under the front seats, at the back are two fans, perfect for dogs and kids in the back. Keep up the good work, Car Keys!
@@ahmedchahineelkatmour3382 i got the 1.2tdi dsg one overall it's a good car, one thing that i dont like is sound isolation but again overall great car for its price especially with the turbos in sport mode gets you enjoy it. fuel economy is i'd say okay not too bad not too god..

Hi K, we had the keys to a Skoda Yeti Monte Carlo for 6 months not too long ago. Unfortunately we didn't get too much off-roading done, but the guys did a pretty in-depth review you might find handy (there's a video review at the bottom of the page too): www.carkeys.co.uk/news/skoda-yeti-monte-carlo-long-term-test-first-review?ckytc
I don't get the spaceback. If you are looking at the Rapid you are most likely on a limited budget, why on earth would anyone choose the version with smaller boot? Also this is being targeted at young families? Young families have prams and other shit to fill the boot with, I've got 2 young kids, 5 and 1 year old, a mk4 Toledo (Rapid clone) and I would not dream about getting the spaceback instead of the proper version.
To be fair the smaller boot isn't an issue, it's a better shape than a standard rapids boot and th extra space in the rear is much better with large bulky car seats. My wife and I bought one it's been great. We have a very chunky travel system and it's been no problem.
Also worth mentioning I worked in car rental at the time so had plenty of experience with the regular rapid/Jetta/Toledos and find the spaceback just fits better. (And has a nicer interior)
Bought one of these a year ago, absolutley beautiful car! 1.2turbo petrol, so nippy and sounds good. Couldnt ask for more . Love it!!

Cheers for your insight on it, that's actually a great benefit for using it as a family (& pet owner) vehicle.
Thanks, we will do!

This car is best value for money I think....
The battery located in the trunk under the spare tire
Should have shown the backseat floor .. but apart from that .. really really good review.
its a great car, im buying a 2017 model in march. great review
I'm looking at getting one. After2 months with it, what do you think of it?
Great Car and If I was buying one then I would the SE Sport. Shame about the weather though
Yeah tell us about it. The video guys looked like they had been swimming after the driving shots... Whilst Rich was nice and warm inside the car :P
Should have reviewed the 1.6tdi
looks amazing goes well but the interior quality is not really good.Hard plastic all over which can get scratched extremely easy!
Lenka Hajkova yes they do scratch very very easy... Mine has a number from shoes scuffs and rings but a really great car for the money..
