Lovely tutorial, the only one that made some sense. Okay, now I made the model car, so I believe the next step would be filling in the details. Could you kindly make a video that would cover that ? (the colors, the shades and all that shebang?) I am actually new to 3d, VERY new :P Thank you for the efforts :)
When I try to rotate the body of the car, (it's flat) to go sideways and go on top of the other half top, it won't turn. When I use the rotater, it selects one point rather than the whole car and when I use the move tool to rotate it, it just moves around in a circle. Need help!
I think I'm missing something here, I understand you go to import to get the car blueprints, I saved them in my pictures folder, but when I go to import them they are not there
@sokkaperri im having the same problem...i have tried saving it in a lot of different locations on my computer, but everytime, it says it cant import the jpg....help?
@metroeagle If you knew even the most basic of sketchup commands, you should be able to do this. What did he use? Arc, Push/Pull, Intersect, Erase, and Move. Great Vid dude
like metal, you turn it into sort of mesh.and u can manippulate the x,y,z. it may look displaced, so take a closer look...remember clean up as ur manipulating the poly's accord. there is more, to this but ..look at the intersecting with model clicks he does, and then the clean up..he doesn't vary to far from the menu.like repetition.....FYI..4 ya..
Nice video, but there's a lot of details left out. For instance, windows, doors, mirrors, and lights etc. It's still a great tutorial and helped me get the hang of this
Convert high resolution blueprint to vector, export to *.dxf and import the curves to SketchUp. Might get a bit dirtier results in terms of edges count, but it's much faster.
1.u draw the profiles. all 4 sides. 2.push pull, the faces accordanly..mind alot of rotating, and moving 3.interserting the 2-pieces..and clearing out what you dont need..alot of clicking...rotating and stuff.so be ready. 4. repeat for every profile. cleaning at the same time...don't need it ..errase..... 5.aligning your so callled polygons to the profiles.alot of clicking and draging.l
You do not leave us any scope for manoeuvre should the time-old question arise with regard to this post: "Did uPowner really take full advantage of his or her time in the diplomatic corp?" The other question this post poses is also all to obviously answered: "Did uPowner's power of persuasion convince sokkaperri of the error of his or her ways?"
