I'm brazilian and while brigadeiro IS a traditional dish and IS delicious (and really easy to make, i highly recommend) i think its soooo funny its being shown as a traditional CHRISTMAS dish because it might be the only celebration we DONT make brigadeiro for lol

I actually like having to do things to get the rewards although I feel like they need more different activities. The amount of times I had to talk to people about holiday traditions and cook is kinda crazy and just highlights how little holiday things there are in the base game. I kinda wish that if you had seasons, some of those tasks would be replaced with things like decorating the tree and putting up house decorations, similar to how there were seance table tasks in the last one if you had paranormal stuff.
An in between of this events quests and the last one would be nice

I feel like the login event rewards should just unlock for everyone at a certain time.
Like for this event we could all get the rewards at Christmas.
Your reward for participating and finishing the quests would be to get the stuff early.
This way there’d be a reward for completing but also the rewards wouldn’t be gone for those who buy the game in the future or don’t have time at the moment.

Yes! Also as someone who missed out on the Reaper Rewards event cuz of bugs, it would future proof any other rewards events from tge same problems. The Reaper Rewards event CAS items were things we kinda lacked in basegame so missing out cuz of bugs stinks
I'd say the best solution would be releasing a scenario about 6 months down the line so people who wanted the items could play that scenario and go through the same stages to earn them. I just don't think this particular event makes for a satisfying scenario though
Brigadeiro is not a traditional holiday dish (it is a traditional brazilian dish though), the time to eat brigadeiro is whenever you feel like it. We brazilians mostly cook it for birthday parties and sleepovers, but also for that movie afternoon when you just don't feel like leaving home. You shold try it, it's really easy. Just mix cocoa powder, a spoon of butter and condensed milk in a pan and cook it on the stove mixing until it thickens. (You can also add heavy cream to the mix before going to the stove to get a more smooth brigadeiro)
don't forget the butter!

tbh I was a bit surprised that the tv is a bit bigger than the one from the luxury kit... also, I didn't know you can play on that snes with 4 people cuz I tested it only with 2 sims
The framed Tv has to be my fav item bc i haven't got the modern luxe pack(yet) and I'm always so jealous when you or Vixella especially uses the framed tv from that pack in your builds so I'm happy we get one in base game now!!! Also bro take some time to heal, you're not going to be able to give your audience the best quality videos if you aren't in the best shape yourself with your health so just take a few days to relax! Sending positive vibes your way dude :)))))))
As a Brazilian, seeing brigadeiro and pão de queijo in my game makes me so happy! It's silly, but I know those recipes!

This one was kinda meh
Reaper's Rewards had too much filler but had a lot of interesting quests going on
This one was much more condensed with the rewards but the tasks to complete it were so boring this time
We jumped from one side of the spectrum of design of events to the other
I do believe there is a lot of not really good planning for this
The Sims (at least The Sims 4) doesn't have the gameplay structure to integrate events to a regular gameplay session since most of us have like, a ton of saves all at once so making timed events is a weird thing
This is what Scenarios should have been imo
They are trying to make these events work for VERY different play-styles and that’s why they DON’T work. The folks into quest style play want some challenge or it just feels like a waste of time and the folks who are story tellers want as little of an interruptive footprint from these events as possible. This tried to exist in the middle and it just made it lackluster. Like I made my sim cook the quest item and just shoved it the fridge just so I had the game console. And they were talking about ‘holiday traditions’ in the middle of their summer. It wasn’t even winterfest. I wasn’t gonna waste time changing seasons for this.
These events should be permanent SCENERIOS you can play for the rewards at your leisure. And that way future players aren’t locked out and it creates a reason to play scenarios.
I actually liked the second event because it taught players how to cook ambrosia, something many players don't know how to do.
Although, this Xmas event, I couldn't care less

Yeah I think if the difficulty was somewhere in the middle of the two it would be better. This was too easy but the grim one was very involved. Also the Grim event adapted to your packs and gave you different options depending on what was in your library.
Finding out sims 4 had coquito was a highlight for me! I love coquito so much, my mom had a friend that added cream and condensed milk in it to make it super sweet, it was amazing!
When I was playing and the hallacas mission came up I was shocked, I didn't know they were in the game
Currently have like 50 hallacas in my fridge so it was fun feeling represented in the Sims, texted my friends immediately and we were all so excited about this because most people think they're the same as tamales but they're not
Just a small correction: brigadeiro is not really a HOLIDAY desert, we have those all year, they're more consumed on birthdays parties but it's an everyday kinda desert, they're really easy to make so you can just make it yourself if you're bored and wanting a sweet thing to eat, they are DELICIOUS
just in case anyone is curious, the recipe is 1 tablespoon of butter, 1 can of condensed milk and as much cocoa powder you want (but like, 4 tablespoons is good), cook on low heat for about 10/15 minutes, stirring non-stop so it doesn't burn on the bottom and the sides, you know it's ready if the mixture starts detaching from the pan
you can cool it and roll them forming little balls, put some butter on your hands, put a small quantity of the brigadeiro and roll it until is a perfect ball, you can cover it with sprinkles, or you can just skip this part and eat it with a spoon :)
I'd love to see Kayla try to make the dishes from the Sims as a series... That said, I don't know if she has any dietary restrictions like being a vegan so it might be impractical for her

I'm only like 5 minutes in but what you're doing is the same as me and thats why I'm actally okay with how short this was. It's giving me a base line for a story about a christmassy sim and I had dinner parties and other get togethers to cook the foods for everyone and talk about holidays and I've really been in a storyline slump recently so this has really got me back in the game
I have REALLY enjoyed watching Cozy Club, a Simsiemark romance.
i genuinely love the welcome mat, tv, scarf, and game console. the welcome mat is soooo cute. i wasnt expecting that based on the swatch they showed but the others are actually nice

I missed this event and watching this video has solidified my sadness. Thanks for sharing all of the prizes though! They’re all so fun! Maybe one day they’ll let us have another crack at them
Honestly I love the reward games. I love being able to work for it, having to do quests or whatever to receive the items. It adds to game play and excitement to get something new. I love it! I want more of them haha.

Aww man, I was dealing with adult problems (car issues, death in the family, etc.) for the past month and a half and missed out on this event. It’s not the end of the world, but I’m a little sad I missed out on the Grouch trait.
Brazillians all united to comment about how brigadeiro isn't a holiday dish here lol We just can't hear someone talking about Brazil and not celebrate kkkkk and by the way, my fav Brazillian dishes in the game are at the jungle adventure stolls: feijoada and pastel de camarão!! this log in type event seems to be over the like 20+ days since i didn't know it was a thing until i went back to play the other day and i did like 4 quests worth of stuff in one sitting so it isn't that traditional log in which feels nicer honestly since if someone was to miss out of the moment it unlocks for you to do the quest it doesn't actually cut you out from getting those done, happy that it is a much longer event time
The slippers and the welcome mat really surprised me with their swatches. I'm also playing a cheesy Christmas movie save and immediately had my sim in the raccoon slippers to play video games in the attic when her heart broke.
Honestly I fully forgot about this just before unlocking those bear slippers so thanks for reminding me!
I really appreciated the easier tasks this time, I didn't get to finish the reaper rewards and this all total took me less than an hour to complete the entire thing. Feel better and Happy Holidays to those that celebrate!

As a Brazilian I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Brigadeiro, it's amazing
As part of my kids kindergarten geography class, they provide recipes and we got to make this for one of the South America recipes and it was really good.

brigadeiro is SO easy and quick! the usual recipe I use is 1 can of condensed milk (here it's 395 grams), 1 tablespoon of butter (you can also use an vegetal alternative) and some people use chocolate bars (normally the one's with like 60% cocoa), other uses chocolate powder (it's usually what we use to do chocolate milk, they come with sugar) and others use cocoa powder, so it's up to you! normally I use 3 tablespoons of chocolate powder because we always have in my home. if you want the brigadeiro to be more smooth, you can use heavy cream, we also use 1 can (normally it's about 250 grams). you just put everything in a pan and mix until you can see the bottom of it when mixing, usually we do in low heat but sometimes I'm lazy and do it on high heat - works the same!
if you want to form small brigadeiro balls, you need to cook a tiny bit more, let it cool down completely, use a spoon to pick some and roll it on your hands. you need to either use water or oil on your hands to make it easier, then you put them on chocolate sprinkles, this is more for birthdays. I always just put on a bowl or a plate, wait to cool down a little bit and eat with a spoon.

My favorite reward would probably be the game cube video game consol! I really like the new overlay and it's fun to have and tell a different story! I also love those slippers and the frame TV. Super fun!!
Look after your health. I’ve been sick too this week and my 90 year old Dad is too. We gotta mind ourselves. My favourites are the console, the tv and the bushes. We need so much more landscaping in the game. I often overlap stuff to make custom plants for variety

I always play the Sims 4 on my xbox S and its great. I currently do the quests that was mentioned on this video and so far I have the TV the festive TV. So far I am trying to get all sims to get high level cooking and handiness meaning the repairs on particular appliances that have been broken. I usually get repairman if they are tired. Its so fun playing the sims.
I know EA watches your stuff so I'm hoping they see this comment.
The event has ended, there is no reason for the prompt to still be in the corber of the game. Based on the forums the event was still broken just the like Grim event. There needs to be an option to turn events off for people for don't want to play or for those who are fed up on the lack of consideration from the team.
So happy that this time it didn't glitch out for me. I did all the things within one Sim-day the other day with my normal family. :D But I love that you do these special let's plays for the events!

I nearly screamed when they added Coquito to the game, and then later added it to this event. Us Boricuas hardly get representation anywhere and it’s so nice to see something of ours! Especially seeing it after I just made a batch for Noche Buena
I don't have sims 4 yet (very late to gaming, and too broke atm) so I am glad that you've made these videos for all of the log-in events so far. It's nice to see the items and such even if I'll never have them myself ^-^
I think I'll enjoy these kind of events when I do get the game but it is also kinda sucky to know that I've already missed out on some cool items. But I play quite a few games on my phone with limited events like theses so missing out won't totally spoil the experience for me.

I literally do the tasks just to get the little UI thing out of the corner of the screen (the rewards are cute and thank goodness the tasks are simple)
I've been wanting a scarf item in the game since seasons, so I was really excited about that. It's a shame it clips with so many outfits but I still think it's really good where it can be used
I'm glad that they made it quicker to so. I was doing exams and working, so I was only able to play I think twice so far (I still have the last part to finish). Unlike the Reaper Rewards, where it was such a time sink with huge gaps in between, this one let me play when I was able to, even if it was just a few days close together.
I'm so sad I missed this event. We recently moved so our computer was packed.
You absolutely MUST try brigadeiro!! It's not too hard to make, you should be able to find some good recipes online or if you know a Brazilian they definitely have a recipe haha

I'm grateful that they are leaving it for after the holidays because I'm out of town until the end of the year and I was worried I would miss it.

Personally I have been liking the new events, although I know not everyone has - I created a new save that I'm making a new legacy challenge that I play all the events in, and I let their lives kind of be influenced by whatever the themes of the events are (like the first sim was a chef since the event was so cooking focused for ambrosia). It's been really fun and I hope they keep doing events every few months with new free content - it was nice getting the frame TV because I've wanted it but but I didn't want to buy the Modern Luxe kit just for that so I'm glad its base game now. I do wish they would make it so they weren't just limited availability though, because I also feel bad if people miss out. I know they want to encourage people to login NOW so even if they made it available through something like your idea for scenarios in like a few months (like maybe once the next event comes out, have a way to also post the past event and then just have the old ones permanently available to play through), just something that's a better balance than making the opportunity to get these items gone forever.

I think this reward event was my favorite. The events fit into the regular gameplay of the family I was currently playing so it didn’t seem strange.
The reaper rewards felt so strange in the storyline for that family and I didn’t want to make new sims just for the challenge. I also liked that it was simple and I could do a lot of the quests at one time.

I didn't have time to even log in for this event until this morning. Completed ALL the quests in about an hour. So much easier than the other Eventts were. I wish EA would do something interesting for these events that is a little more challenging. Perhaps solve a mystery treasure hunt. You not only get to keep the treasures you find but the FINAL reward could be something fabulous such as your choice of a code to download a kit that you don't already own. That would be a REAL prezzie for the holidays!

I'm half Chinese and while my family doesn't celebrate Christmas, something we do make for the typical holiday season is tangyuan, a glutinous rice cake dessert (think mochi but filled with peanut or sesame paste and served in light syrup) to celebrate the winter solstice 🎉

I wish they wouldn’t call it a “holiday” event when it’s obviously just a christmas event… they can’t label it as inclusive but not follow through.
I didn't play this event until today, and I finished it within an hour. I did this with the last event too, I like doing everything in one go and it saves me time for doing other things.
Honestly I really like Simsie's idea of making things like this a Scenario; it would allow them to still soft-lock this content behind gameplay, but not make it a limited time thing. I also liked that this event was a little easier than Reaper's Rewards, but it also felt a little TOO easy to me. Reaper's Rewards was a lot of grinding for level 10 skills, which was kind of dull, but this went all the way the other direction where it took practically NO time or effort at all. Personally I'd love to see something kind of in between the two difficulty levels. Like something that's relatively easy for people who know the game, but would still take more than a half hour to complete all six parts of it. If they're gonna keep doing these events, I really hope they find that balance soon!
it took me 2 hours to do the entire thing (not counting extra stroy building) and i even played with a toddler, this one was really easy and i love the new frame tv

I agree. If scenarios gave free items like these events, so many more people would play them. It would reward players for playing but not leave anyone out

About 4-5 things are worth having from this event. I still feel like these should be scenerio-based rewards. That way they could have depth and ACTUAL challenge for those who want it, they are always available for future players, and it can be an actual challenge to play and not artificially interrupt those who have their own challenges/game goals going on. Right now they are trying to make this fit in regular gameplay for every play style and its either too lackluster for ‘grinders’ who want a big challenge that actually takes work or too interruptive for storytellers who already have story paths mapped out and don’t want some artificial ‘event’ derailing and interrupting their plans.

I'm in full support of these silly little events tbh. Almost every game has something like it at some point to try and encourage people to come back and play without having to buy DLC/packs! Whether that be special outfits, weapons, backgrounds for ID cards etc - so I see this as no different!
My winterfest aligned perfectly for the last two tasks, so I waited till the last task was online to do them 😊
You should definitely try to find a brazilian store or restaurant and see if they have brigadeiro, TRUST ME you'll love it. For all of you that live in florida, the brazilian community is big over there, there are a lot of brazilian stores and restaurants so you should definitely look for it. It's so goooood

I liked this holiday event bc it was reasonably easy to complete in my normal gameplay, rather than trying to create a whole new household just for this event. I can imagine it being pretty boring if it was all I was doing but I personally think it's better that they make them reasonably easy to complete in an existing save
I completed the whole event within an hour and a half (including long CAS time)/about 3-4 sim days I think lol. I started in winter and ended the day after winterfest. Very easy but you can add your own spin to things, like throwing a party and such.
