Actually ps3 outsold the 360 just not right at the start. This however is a different scenario, this isn’t the base model this is a pro which is expected to be more expensive (though not by this much I admit) and have far less people buy it than the base console. Let’s look at ps4 pro as an example, only 12% of ps4 users had a pro. If they are aiming for the same again on the ps5 pro I’d say that’s quite feasible given how many people just have to upgrade to the latest tech regardless of price. I won’t be getting it but plenty will and they are all the people who are not kicking off about the price.

I think Xbox is definitely heading in the correct direction with spreading out their library to everything. They are banking on cloud gaming and the power being remote. You can play games on a fire stick now with a connected controller and a good Internet connection. I still like a dedicated and powerful console, but in the near future I'll probably be building another gaming PC for a few thousand dollars to handle anything.
I think xbox not competing in some way with it had a effect to some degree but not solely due to no competition from xbox with the pro. Just like the economy, and cost of parts also factor into the pros price. I wanted one as i didnt get a ps4 pro but i think im just going to jump to pc instead and leave consoles behind.

My vision isn't that great, 60fps is nice, but I started in the 80s on an Atari 2600, so 30fps without noticeable dip is just fine. I'm probably going to go PC for next-generation anyway. It seems to be where the industry is headed for home gaming.
Console better not get too costly . Best Buy for $945 sells a AMD Ryzen 7 5700 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB - 2TB SSD computer . The only advantage consoles had over Ps was price .
The actual issue isn't the fact that the games are on almost all platforms, the main problem is Xbox isn't giving people reasons to buy one. Xbox could create value for strictly console users even if the services exist on other platforms for example Xbox console users could have a reduced price on gamepass just for using the console or have the price of games be $10 cheaper than your competitor (Xbox has the money to spend on gamepass it shouldn't be a hassle) these are strategies they could use to literally stay relevant. Its not a guarantee that they will win the generation but they could find a perfect balance.
@@LoremIpsum1919 the problem is the Switch isnt powerful enough to run current gen games with a paltry 4gb of ram in it and it would affect others online gaming experiences from the lag
So PS is better because they sold more units? Oh ok. I thought it was about the best value for money, games and utility. Monthly active users and profit margins. Nup, its about how many units have been sold on a system that has no games or ones that stick around for more than 2 weeks. (seriously though, disk drives selling more than xbox units is actually kind of funny)
Every year I become even more glad that I switched to PC. Still have my 2080 which will last me a while. The savings I have made due to cheaper games and free online have more than made up for the initial price I paid. Consoles have always been more expensive in the long term, but this is just ridiculous.
I really didn't think we needed a Pro model for this generation. In another few years we'll be at the next gen which will be a more substantial leap forward, and have games targeting those specs. I think if anything Xbox should release a portable gaming console, maybe with the power of the Series S. It would be convenient to be able to game on the go.
I litterally just got the last of all my PC parts 3 days ago currently building so you weren’t wrong about that and the only thing I’ll miss is Spider-Man. R.I.P. my childhood.
The $700 IMO would not necessarily be an issue if we were talking about a brand new true next gen console that was way more powerful but for a mid gen upgrade and considering the upgrade you get over base PS5 it is too much .
Is it possible for Microsoft to make an update for the xbox series x that isnt a hardware upgrade to make the xbox be able to run games at 60fps and a high fidelity
I beleive the Mid gen console should ONLY ever be a portable version of the Series S. being mid gen give technology enough time to catch-up to the current gen consoles.
I like more xbox. Was interested of ps5 pro but price is just ridicilious. Xbox feels more for hc gamer, no vr etc. Ps5pro would be perfect for vr, but for rest its not just worth it over series x
I just want a damn Series S with a disc drive. I don't want to shell out for a Series X and want to play my physical collection of older games and movies. I'll mostly only be getting it for GTA 6.
Besides owning alot of Consoles including several PS5 Disk Slims ...I also own numerous PC's & various new hardware to build a bunch more. In fact, due to the ridiculous price of the Pro & upcoming Next Gen Consoles ...it really is getting to the point where owning a Gaming PC is a much better choice since the PC is easily repairable by yourself due to replacement Hardware being sold everywhere on-line & various local PC Brick & Mortar stores. 🙂
I don’t think Sony is disconnected from what gamers want. They’re just saying “ok we will give you the 4K 60fps you’re asking for, but it’s gonna cost ya”
This mindset ALWAYS happens to businesses when they are the leader in their market. Just look at how Intel used to be and how Apple is right now. They only start changing their ways when a competitor seriously cuts into their sales figures.
Top of the line performance would be ok if you're getting that. But still majority of games will still be at 30fps. For that price should get disc drive. 60fps and better lighting n reflections. Too much for too little.

It varies, there is no comparison here at all. The fact is you’re getting 0.5x more improvement for £700 or $700 😂. PS4 pro had 4x the power of PS4 and was cheaper.
Well, I think it's pretty clear you're getting a more powerful console with better performance with the Series X. But it's usually not a huge difference, except for some games like Space Marine 2 where you get a much better version on Series X. But usually, it's not something that really makes much of a difference.
Having a middle tier is kinda ridiculous
No. Fk PC .
I hope x box decides to put steam on x box storefronts that would be a game changer I like PlayStation more than Xbox but I would definitely get an Xbox if they start putting PC games like steam on their store fronts
Xbox should make the 2tb series X the standard at $499 and the S 1tb for $299. Can’t really see them cutting prices but this could be a good compromise to get ppl to adopt

I have been in fear since the Series X announced a retail price $499.99 then even more so when they announced Starfield Standard Edition at $69.99
I have a feeling that Xbox just might have a big comeback so long as they put Steam on the storefront it would leave Sony in the dust yes I'm a Sony guy but I admit when Sony makes mistakes and they've made a few big mistakes lately such as Concord and that ridiculous price of the ps5 pro and yes im well aware of just how many mistakes Xbox makes as well but im sure if Xbox does put PC games and steam on there storefront Sony will probably follow suit because if Sony doesn't do that then they will definitely lose the supposed console war atleast in my opinion and i really hope Xbox does very well because we need compensation in the gaming space just look at how expensive the ps5 pro is and just imagine how expensive the ps6 will be i hope Xbox doesn't do the same thing that Playstation did with the extremely high price of the ps5 pro well here's for hoping have a great day everyone and don't lose faith in the Xbox brand atleast not yet and let's hope that Sony Playstation gets their heads back on straight lol have a great day let's hope the next console gen does much better then this current generation otherwise we all just might have to switch to that Nintendo switch pun intended but ether way i think pc is definitely the way to go if you can afford it it's expensive and in these uncertain times let's just hope the economy gets better so the gaming industry will stop raising prices so much and again have a great day gamers

I just got a ROG Ally and I would love to have a gaming optimized Windows (Xbox OS?) for portables would be awesome instead of a more powerful console. They tried this with PS3 and it was a landslide victory for Xbox360
@@EelofTheTRIMS PS3 cell processor was a disaster (much higher cost worse graphics until 4 years later) and lead to the 360 outselling it until the final years. Sony wisely never went back to it in the PS4 or PS5
@@srobeck77not denying that at all. To be fair the 360 got a year head start before ps3 even released. But yes the cell processor was too hard to work with for a long time. It’s also the reason ps3 games are so hard to port now.
360 would have had a landslide victory if not for the red ring fiasco that turned late adopters of the generation away from getting the console.

Quit giving PlayStation Xbox games, reducing the need for Xbox to exist
The actual issue isn't the fact that the games are on almost all platforms, the main problem is Xbox isn't giving people reasons to buy one. Xbox could create value for strictly console users even if the services exist on other platforms for example Xbox console users could have a reduced price on gamepass just for using the console or have the price of games be $10 cheaper than your competitor (Xbox has the money to spend on gamepass it shouldn't be a hassle) these are strategies they could use to literally stay relevant. Its not a guarantee that they will win the generation but they could find a perfect balance.
Agreed. Those need to be going to Nintendo Switch instead. Nintendo isn't a direct competitor to Microsoft like Sony is.

What about disc drive for backwards compatibility?
Here's a question to all:
Will you bros still use the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro after this?
I beleive the Mid gen console should ONLY ever be a portable version of the Series S. being mid gen give technology enough time to catch-up to the current gen consoles.
