So pretty! Both the blocks and the fabrics!
Nice job sewing around that curve.

You're very welcome!
Thanks for a great instruction, well done
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
A quilter can sew Drunkard’s Path blocks for the rest of their life and not duplicate a pattern!!! Thanks to Goggle we can find every way from Sunday to make beautiful blocks with just this template - no matter what size!
I totally agree with you! It is such a great, simple design. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for all the great hints for sewing curves. I'm going to try your challenge.
Great! I think you will be pleased when you finish! Thanks for watching.
Arguably the very best demo of sewing a curved seam that I’ve ever seen! Thanks so much for sharing with us you knowledge and skills. 😍
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching.
Love this, the colors look so good together. Thank you Carol.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching.
THANK YOU for sharing the details of this gorgeous fabric and instructions for how to get great results with curved piecing❣️ I love watching your tutorials and always learn something new.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad it was helpful.
Wow! Another great video. So much great information! I’ve got to search for my purple thang. It’s here someplace. 😂
I know what you mean about the purple thang! Haha I can't count how many I have lost over the years. Thanks for watching.
I will challenge myself with this block for sure.
I think you will have fun! Good luck!
Hi Carol, Thank you for the great tutorial. Would you consider doing a complete tutorial on the accuquilt double wedding ring? Your videos are so thorough. Thank you.
I have the smaller one so i will see about putting it on the list! Thanks for the suggestion.
Most excellent tutorial! You explain like I never was able to on how (in detail) to do curved piecing. Great job!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
OMG you have again wowed me with your details in producing a great 'out of your comfort zone' unit. I first made an eight inch drunkards path unit 22+ years ago for a playmat quilt. I said some curse words doing it over and over again... there were no instructions only directions to pin pin pin. Not only were my fingertips near (or maybe were) bloody, I was so thankful the 4th or 5th try worked well enough to sew the pieces together. I get the 8 unit challenge, great close ups and good advice to pin down the edges.
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching.
Way over 30 years ago my Mom and I took a class,on making a Drunkard’s Path Christmas Tree Skirt using large pieces at my favorite quilt shop in Phoenix! This is where I learned the technique I still use for sewing curves - I still have those individual blocks “somewhere” and maybe I’ll finish it one of these days!
I love this so much, I broke my don't buy rule. I keep hearing, don't admit when you make a mistake, but if you don't - in situations like this - no one learns. I'm accepting your challenge, but I have a couple of quilts I need to get done first. I've already started cutting this out.🥰
So true! If we learn from our mistakes, I must be a genius by now because I think I've made them all about twice! Haha! Thanks for watching and have fun with the challenge.
Love the fabrics so beautiful. Thank you so much for the thorough explanation of the block. You are so helpful with newbie quilters.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching.
Love that fabric. Just got a DP template set, keen to try it out.
Hope you enjoy it! It is a great block. Thanks for watching.
Ive made the drunkards Path quilt before just one it was a 8 in finished block, I wish I had seen your demo before , mine turned out ok but it could have been better . Thank you Carol for all the tips and tricks it makes a big difference in my quilting .
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Love your fabric choices.
I use a glue stick and glue the curve than sew. Works perfectly.
The glue sticks are amazing. I also use them for long, narrow pieces of fabric, mostly paper piecing. Thanks for watching.
I think I have this pattern and templets in my spinning spools, but I like being able to watch it demonstrated. thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Love this tutorial. Mine always seemed to be off so I learned to over size them and trim and they are always perfect. I really like how you put your blocks together. Thank you, Carol.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Great video! I’ve seen curves many times but learned some wonderful new tricks from you in this very detailed video
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Drunkard’s Path is one of my favorite blocks as it’s so versatile! I had forgotten about my collection of Marti Michel templates and I’m sure I have all of the sizes😀. Plus I do have other brands so,e are much larger and fun to use. But I’m so glad about your reminder about why you prefer Marti’s templates - and yes, it is so much easier to cut an outside curve. I have cut the inside curves and will use my small rotary cutter - it’s more tricky!! And the block with the black background fabric is beautiful!!! Thank you once again for your block every day and your excellent directions using soma y different ways to cut and sew!!!
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Wow, I started my 1st quilt 47 yrs ago at a learn to quilt program ( adult school classes ) which was cancelled because of a teachers strike. I actually finished the quilt 2 years ago when I retired. The pattern was trip around the world. Look forward to doing one again with templates instead of cardboard cutouts. Are you planning on making a second book to cover these patterns? Thanks Carol love all these patterns. 👍❤️😊
Glad you got it finished! The quilting world has come a long way since then! Yes, I plan to release a book each quarter. The second one should be ready on Monday. Thanks for watching.
That’s awesome, thank you for your reply 👍❤️😊
I have the templates ,havent used them bc im always afraid of messing it up. Thank you so much for breaking this down. I think i can do it now.❤
My pleasure. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Great easy to follow tutorial, I like when you show your "not perfect" sewing, and show how to remedy it. Question...would the B pie-shape fit on the waste fabric from the C L-shape? If it does, it could be used for a smaller 3" block for another quilt. SU
You know, I think it would. I just took them out it it appears that you could do that. Good observation! Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the great tutorial ❤ and also the challenge! I have steered away from curved piecing thus far. I feel empowered to give it a try!
Great! I think you'll love it. Thanks for watching.
Also known as "Illinois Rose".
Oh I've never heard that! Thanks for letting me know and thanks for watching.
