Installing Coilovers On The Mini Cooper S

Figured I would do a video of me installing the coilovers on my 2007 R56 Mini Cooper S. These are MaxPeeding Rods coilovers. I figured I would try out the "ebay coilovers" and see how bad they actually are. I did have them all the way low at first, but had to raise it up because the bumper was rubbing the ground when it was slammed.. They are unique cars that come with many quirks. I had a 2003 R53 a couple years back that gave me a bunch of problems, so I ended up selling it before I could mod it. I seen this one for sale that was clean one owner and decided to pick it up. It is currently lowered on coil overs and ESM 0002R wheels. The wheel spec is 16x8 +20 offset, wrapped in 195/45/16 tires. It also has a DDM Works exhaust. So far I am loving this little turbo charged British Racing Green Mini. I will be doing a lot of mods to this mini in the future, including front mount intercooler, cold air intake, down pipe and tune. It rode slightly stiffer then factory. No spacers

Mine is jumping up and hitting the frame the piston is moving up and down when you push down on the rear bumper

Mine too w stuck suspension. Is old tho what's the issue?

Hey Jake, do you experience any rubbing? Do you know if the stiffen coilsovers help with rubbing issues?
I have some 18x8 with +38 offset and I get slight rubbings with stock suspensions.

For the rear coil over on your Mini Is the top center bolt that screws down the top hat for the rear coilover how did you get the rear tophat bolt all the way down

Did you install that rear fender piece that extends off behind the wheel? what is that piece called/where did you buy it?

Control arm? And no, I just did the coilovers

@@JakeAlexander Not the control arm, the plastic body piece that looks like it’s stuck on to the bumper/fender. My stock r56 doesn’t have that, did yours come with it?

Fitted a set of theys on my mini. Mine are making a knocking noise only on the back shocks. Any ideas

Probably don’t have enough offset or back spacing on whatever wheels you are running
