    The video was very good and informative. I just did mine today off of your video. One thing I took the passenger air bag out and it was very easy to take out and put back in with no problems

    My knuckles are now jacked up, but both driver and passenger sides blend doors are replaced and AC working like a charm. MANY thanks to your video as I didn't try to get out the phantom "3rd screw" on the passenger side! Mine didn't have one either and so glad I watch your video - helped a ton and saved me a big headache or two!!

    Thank you for doing the passenger side. I too, could only find video's for replacing the driver's side 🤔 OMG! Couldn't believe how many screws were missing! 😲 That's crazy!
    The dealership removed my dash
    yrs. back, and didn't put all the screws back in. Hopefully the shop who does this job for me can see where those screws go 🙏

      Thank you for watching. Yes, I had a lot of screws missing as well. Opened my eyes to the condition of the car. I hope they aren't charging too much to do the job.

    Great video and thanks for the tips. I was able to take my passenger side actuator out this weekend. Hopefully I can find a similar video for the drivers side so that I can complete this project this week.

  • @dc23211

    Did your passenger side knob change the number display for cold to hot? Mine does not. I think its my control knob part thats not sending signal to the acuator door.?

  • @Rene-uz3eb

    I replaced the passenger side a long time ago, couldn’t get to the driver’s side one without taking out some stuff so left it there, but of course now it had to fail too. Luckily unlike for the passenger side one it seems you don’t need to remove the dash

  • @gapadp

    question? was it possible to remove that aluminum bracket behind the glove box? if not remove it.. maybe cut a little away to have better access to the actuator?

    • @CadillacJones
      @CadillacJones  3 роки тому +1

      I hadn't thought of that. I'm sure it's held on by bolts. There were cutouts to access the actuator. Although I thought I had the correct angle, maybe my geometry was off.

    When the blender actuatir is faulty does it make the passengers side heater stay on always?

    • @CadillacJones
      @CadillacJones  3 роки тому

      There's an actuator on both sides. The actuator is what switches the heat and AC. So if you have one side stuck on heat or AC, then it's not than like the actuator

    • @CadillacJones

      They are. Some have auto temp control and others are for manual temp controls. As long as you grab the correct one, you'll be fine.

    I have to do my drivers side sooner or later. It does blow warm air steadily. If all goes well I will be moving to Florida very soon, so I will probably be using the A/C periodically. Ive only used it twice here in Pa. I should have done it when I fixed the H.U.D., and the climate control display, but I got impatient and put the interior back together. I read that the drivers side can be done from underneath so I will look at it when I change the steering wheel.

    • @1VinnyD
      @1VinnyD 3 роки тому

      Before you go through all that, disconnect the battery for about five minutes, I found out the computer had to reboot. It worked for awhile, but I had to change the actuator. Good luck!

    • @CadillacJones
      @CadillacJones  3 роки тому

      You'll definitely need that A/C in Florida. I hope you're able to move there. I'll be fixing my HUD over the winter. How hard was it? There is a good video on here to do the driver side. Let me know if you want the link. What steering wheel did you go with?

    • @marcanthony6038
      @marcanthony6038 3 роки тому

      @@CadillacJones The HUD wasnt bad at all. Be careful not to touch projection screen, mirror, inside the unit. I watched all the vids on it. It cost nothing, just had to be careful removing all those interior pieces. I did take the top of the dashboard out through the removable roof opening. That part will be tougher for you. Two people makes it good though.
      That link would help if you would be so kind.
      I just bought a used, excellent condition c5 wheel. The previous owner put deep scratches, and gouged the original wheel in numerous places. I like the interior and didnt want to spend 1000 on a steering wheel. I paid 119 shipped and its flawless. I will keep this car mostly stock except for performance. Even those upgrades I did with C5 Z06 sways, and springs. As I age I seem to appreciate stock cars more than I used to. They just delivered a Vararam a few days ago I have to add to my list. Its my first mod outside of suspension.
