Renovating Olive Specter's Creepy House 👻💀 | Sims 2 Speed Build

- Welcome to another sims 2 build video! Who's ready for some Strangetown lot makeovers? 🙌 We're starting with the Specter family home, a creepy mausoleum turned haunted hacienda. 🛠️👻🏡
Olive Specter and her niece Ophelia live at 13 Dead End Lane, a lot that is also populated with the many ghosts of Olive's past. The two sims don't have a very close relationship and in my headcanon Ophelia is suspicious of her aunt and her midnight activities.
Stay tuned for the rest of our Strangetown speed builds! This is a continuation of my big Sims 2 Lot Renovation project where I intend to remake all of the houses and give them my own twist.

I always imagined that the children's toys are Ophelias, either that Olive bought them in a misguided attempt to keep her distracted and not notice all the unusual happenings around the house, or since Ophelia is very much implied to not be of sound mind or at least a hypochondriac, the toys are a way to communicate that she has a delicate mental state and might need a dollhouse or a stuffed toy at night to make her feel safe and in control of her surroundings among the angry ghosts that haunt her all the time.
Ophelia's bio does imply that she's very anxious. Who wouldn't tho, living in such a house after losing their parents...
I think the baby toys in Ophelia's room are supposed to be Nervous's old toys

I also think they put the teddy bears in because ghosts will haunt them and make their head spin and since her lot has so many ghosts they added it in to show that off and scare players even more
@@hooverkinz omg the ghosts make toys' heads spin??? i never knew it. even after playing this game for decades there are always some more tiny details to discover!!

I love I am not the only one who has been dragging around Sims 2 CC since the early 2000s! Good old times, coming home from school and scouring the internet for the perfect curtains in my sims home haha.
Yeeeessss all that ancient CC and having to wait for 10+ minutes for the loading screens on those old computers 😂😂😂

strangetown is my absolute fave basegame neighbourhood! it's just so insane. and the hacienda vibe is so right for this house. in my strangetown, that entire street is filled with hacienda/spanish-style housing. love the dungeon underneath the home,,, can't wait to see how she uses it

Yikes... this is a very creepy house, especially the basement. Opheila's room is probably the closest thing to 'normal' in this house. As for the children toys, maybe they are a memento of her parents - the only good thing to come out of her life. Now onto what I did.
Olive is made into an evil witch in my hood, however... it's really debatable how much she wanted to be evil. In TS3, she has the Unlucky and Friendly traits. Maybe some unfortunate deaths happened when she was younger, and she had a 'then let me be evil' moment. Then... she fell into a trap she couldn't stop. And she also has a cat, which Neville/Nervous took in as his own when he took over the house.
As for Ophelia, she wanted to get out of the insane house as much as she could. When she was old enough, she raced off to college with Johnny and never looked back. She also started perusing medicine to help heal people, to try and make up for all the evil her aunt committed.
Ophelia's bio definitely indicates that she has anxiety and she's a Virgo so the astro girlie in me is saying studying biology sounds perfect for her :D
@@bibipixels And I forgot to mention this, but... Olive being a mentor to Dina? Wow, that makes so much sense! And... it also sounds like a lot of trouble.

You might benefit from Mootilda's default replacements of the floor edge tile. There's a plain white one that looks so good so i never feel the needs to add the floor edge pieces manually. Great reno as always! 🥰

the body bags made me laugh lmao i love an outlandish storyline & i got a lotta sims in my game that are in the investigator career so perhaps i should give them something to……..investigate?🧐🧐🧐 definitely taking inspo from this!!!
We've got an investigator in Pleasantview working on the Bella Goth case, but maybe Strangetown needs some local heroes too ;)
I love it ALL, this is a beautiful renovation.
I absolutely love the ending monologue! If they ever make books about The Sims and it's characters, you should be the prime author. I love the luxurious makeover that came with this home, I feel I'd come here, but never be able to leave.. sort of like Hotel California (totally wasn't humming it most of the time watching).
It fits Olive's aesthetic perfectly! If you ever make a let's play for the Specter family, I'd love to somehow see Olive cheat death due to her close relationship with Him. 🪦 That way we can get a glimpse into her storyline, and her murderous tendencies.

I love love love this one. The new exterior looks amazing, i love the attention to detail in this build! The lack of flowers/plants inside, the way you decorated enhancing the spooky quirky atmosphere, the addition of the basement etc. looking forward to the other strangetown homes :)

I absolutely love your build and I love your interpretation of the story, but I'm wondering what's the name of the mod that gives you more freedom with moving objects, the mod where you move tables with the chairs attached to it like in newer games and the mod where you have much more storage on surface objects.
I'm glad you like the build! There's no mod for moving a table along with the chairs like in ts4 as far as I know, and the decorative slots depend on the object itself. Otherwise I use cheats (in the description) and shiftable everything mod modthesims.info/d/670142/shiftable-everything-move-any-object-up-and-down.html

I really really love how you upgraded it, its like a house of an occult now... my only complain is the pool, really looks s bit too modern & out of place...
I think a better solution wold be EMPTY pool (built with foundation cheats ofc)

Not yet! These lots have been populated + have tons of custom content. I'm planning on uploading them in the future, but it will take me a while to properly package them and clean them up before I can share them online.

I recently moved my gameplay to Strangetown and I’m so sad that we only have a few days to play with Ophelia & Olive. I got Ophelia to move to college since she didn’t seem to like the home and Olive has passed 😢 And of course she left her fortune to Nervous.

I haven't been uploading my lots anywhere yet, I'm worried they have too much CC + have been populated so they have sim data stuck in there.
But now that I have a new PC I'm planning on packaging the lots and play testing them on the older computer with a clean game to see if they work fine. If all is well, I'll upload my renovations. I'll share an update and links when that's done :)

Perfect as always ❤ I love the style of your renovations! Do you have a mod of using deckchairs diagonally? In my game armchairs work perfectly, but this kind of furniture unfortunately no 😢
hmm no, not really. I just use the boolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation cheat and everything functions fine, the only issues I've noticed are some clipping and sims throwing a fit that they can't access the object if there's something blocking their path.
@@bibipixelsThanks for the answer ;) Perhaps the umbrella next to the deckchair is actually blocking my sims path. I'll have to try again with a different arrangement.
