Kind of surprised the Kenny King injury was cut out of this. Regardless, thanks for posting, always love to see big bama games - especially pre-Saban -in history like this. It just makes me feel old though😢😂
Yea I remember this game. My dad and I were watching it and I wasn't even upset about the loss because Alabama controlled the game from the very first snap. They were clearly the better team that night.
A year later lol no i dont think so, since bama beat lsu in the national championship game 21-0 jan 2012 lsu still hasnt won a game against bama, 8 in a row,
Kenneth Futch Of course. Your b-ball program is so crooked lol....FBI has an office on the L$U campus....We still have a winning record against L$U in basketball....
I know it did not make the video, but I remember Coach Fran ripping into Nick Saban at midfield after that game. Coach Fran - what his career might have been had he stayed at Alabama. Well, things worked out for Alabama...
If I remember correctly, Saban made some comment to the effect that Alabama was a cheating school or made up of cheaters. Of course, Alabama was on probation, but all of those who were involved were no longer a part of Alabama. As Coach Fran leads Texas State to play FSU today, I think about what might have been. If he had stayed at Alabama, weathered the years of probation, which is what Mike Shula was hired for, then Fran would have had a championship. It's interesting that Texas A&M pursued Coach Fran vigorously, and when he arrived, he really was not embraced all that well, and then did not have near the success he had at TCU and Alabama. In fact. Fran was the one that got TCU started - Gary Patterson was Fran's D-coordinator. Now Patterson is one of the most respected coaches in college football and TCU is one of the most feared. We all know what happened with Alabama. I just hate that Fran has not found success because I thought he was an awesome coach at Alabama.
+Nate White I don't - I had it on VHS at one time, but lost it in one of several moves I've made since that game took place. It was just a few seconds, but Fran was clearly upset when he addressed Saban at midfield. Saban showed restraint and turned away.
Wow I would really like to see that. What's funny is the reaction of Saban the following year when Bama kicked a meaningless field goal to make it 27-3. Of course Fran had fled by then but Saban wanted the shutout badly.
@@kennethfutch5372 congrats on beating probation riddled Bama teams. Auburn did the same as did Tennessee. Once Alabama got back on equal footing, they've sent you all to hell 🤣🤣🤣
I was at this game in Red Stick and you could see me on ESPN at the very end of the game in the Bama visitor section singing Rammer Jammer in the south end zone. A bunch of people told me they saw me but I’ve never seen it because nobody I know recorded that game.
Loved Coach Fran's offense when he was at Alabama. Lots of option, draw plays, mis-direction, and play-action passes. 2001 South Carolina & Auburn, and 2002 Oklahoma (2nd Half), LSU, Arkansas, really showed what this offense was capable of.
Timothy I was at that game and the Franchione “smoke draw” play was killing LSU all night. LSU couldn’t stop our run game all night. Rammer Jammer was loud that night our fans were the loudest road crowd I’ve ever hear in Tiger Stadium.
@@marshalmagooo3899 Smh. I remember. It’s especially something eerie about it for even a great like Saban to get shutout like this with a decent LSU team he’d fielded.
