I'd like to see us keep Ant at least for this upcoming year, I feel like he could still have all-star potential and we're probably still tanking for at least one more season
Just a little feedback for you. If you can make variety videos every so often, maybe covering what ifs in the style of Mike Korzemba, or perhaps deep dives into blazers history or history of other teams, I think you'd get a lot more interaction on your videos and it will likely grow your channel even more, keep up the good work!
Love this, will do! I love the NBA as a whole, but have been hesitant to make more broad NBA vids just cause I figured not a lot of people would care for them. Thanks for the comment though, I'll definitely look into it!
I love me some Antman and dislike the idea of developing/losing him. Has he grown his game this summer? It would help to know for purposes of this discussion ( Scoot as well ). As for today, every thing you said is solid. Better time to analyze might have been this November.
That's a good question. I haven't sen anything, but I'm sure he's been in the gym, working on stuff. This season will be a big one to watch both him and Scoot and see whose making moved in the right direction
@@pnwdevv the whole team is looking pretty rough ngl. Shadeon took a step up, not all star stats by any means, but moving in the right direction. I like their rookie Camara and timelord (even if it’s a small sample size)
I feel the same way about Scoot Henderson in relation to Anfernee Simons as I do regarding Donovan Clingan to Deandre Ayton. Henderson & Clingan are the future, and Simons & Ayton are the now. There is no real reason to rush to move either Ayton or Simons both of who's contracts ends after the 25/26 season. Which is the perfect amount of time in my opinion to develop Henderson & Clingan.
I’m afraid our team might be too good tbh. Let’s assume you got Ant, Sharpe, Deni, Grant, Ayton starting…You also got scoot and Clingan and camara thybulle and possibly Williams and Walker coming off the bench. You can’t tell me that is a push over team and isn’t capable of making a play in. Especially if you believe sharpe and scoot will make strides.
Fully agree with you, I love Ant but Scoot has better potential as a point guard. If we can land a top pick and get one of the scoring PF in 2025 draft then we’d be fairly solid setup for a bright future. Dame couldn’t get it done, yes roster was a factor, so let’s try a new way to build other than a hot scoring guard with no defense and a bit undersized. Great video! 🤘🏼
Getting flagg would make us a contender. It’s too risky to win this season just to get bounced out of the 1st round. It’s not just Flagg…this draft class is just strong as hell.
Thank you bro, I appreciate it! Things could always change, but if the Blazers wanna win, they need to find their star, and Anfernee might be good, but just not a star like Scoot has the potential top become
@TylerSmith-oy3fg agreed. I think it's important to note that we can lose the best and still get a #9ish pick. My conspiracy brain says 2025 NBA would never let Flagg fall to PDX in the draft.
@@pnwdevv Tickets are dirt cheap right now because of tanking, so genuinely it's a fantastic idea. And he's right - nosebleeds are not a problem at all! The best fans usually are the nosebleeders anyway haha. Me & my brother went to the last game against Miami at home last year for $12. Lower 300s. It was rad.
The main point is in 6:50. Of course there are skills in defence, but that's for being great. To be that bad you just need to cut corners. The reason they can't play together is the same reason i don't think they should be main players at all. Scoot probably can change in this area and improve, but that's a mandatory
neither we arent good enough to give up on either of them yet, if we had to trade one of them definitely trade ant over scoot but i'd rather focus on trading ayton or grant before ant
Not saying we should trade either yet, gotta wait this season out first. Who knows, if Scoot sucks this year and Anfernee averages 25+ points, the conversation could look a lot different next summer
@@pnwdevv oh most definitely, I just think scoot still has a lot more room to develop but yeah if he's really bad next season too like doesn't improve at all then ant is probably the better fit moving forward
It would be more fun exciting to watch Sharpe & Deni back to the Wizards Kuzma goes to Blazers.. Wizards benefit this trade, Poole, Sharpe,, Coulibaly, Deni, Valanciunas. 2nd unit. Alex Sarr Kyshawn George Carrington Brogdon
I agree with almost all of your points. Blazer fans overrate Simons when they call him a pg. He's a score first player while Scoot is a pass first, theres only 1 pg on the team
Totally agree, thanks for the comment bro! It's a tough decision to make, and should be made next offseason. But if one were to be made now, you gotta take the bigger swing in Scoot imo
Would be fun, but not realistic. Jerami Grant is still here, but even if he's traded, Sharpes best basketball is at the SG spot. I like Scoot, Sharpe, Deni, Grant, Clingan better for now
What would Blazer Fans think about a trade with Orlando? Simons goes to Orlando and Portland get Cole Anthony, Jett Howard, Gary Harris and two first round picks in next years draft?! who say no?
@ Anthony Black is a crucial part for Orlando. He is not being traded at all. Orlando really loves their core. I’d even say Cole is crucial as well, especially for the team chemistry which they really value at Orlando.
I don’t think it’s either. I think Ant will be a semi All star. Kinda like CJ McCollum on a different team. I think he needs to go to a team that actually wants him to be around and need him. Scoot will probably be traded in a few years. I don’t see him being a star.
You're comparing at rookie to a multi year vet, if there is any comparison then you have to learn toward the younger player unless the timeline just doesn't add up for them. Blazers aren't win now so 1 for Scoot. The nothing that scoot was terrible his rookie year is fairly nonsensical, 4th in points with 14 a game lead all rookies in assists 5.5 with 28mpg average isn't bad at all and fits right in for when he was drafted especially including the injury, time off and adjusting to the nba which is harder for guards than bigmen usually.. I'm pretty high on Scoot and given he gets the greenlight to make mistakes and grow next year, I could see him being a more effective leader and point guard for the team.
There's a genuine chance it's neither of them. I hope Scoot pans out for us, but Ant is a player I cannot stand. He represents pretty much everything I hate about modern basketball and modern players. No defense whatsoever - no effort, no care given, no skills, no awareness, no lateral quickness, absolutely nothing there. Is a horrible playmaker. Is a hero ball, ball hog style player. Is streaky as hell, and overrated offensively. His body language is also always godawful, making him the absolute worst leader and vet to have on a rebuilding team. He needs to go SEASONS AGO. Now we have no true point guard on the roster at the moment, Scoot is the closest but that's it. True guards we have are Scoot, Ant & Shae. That's it. We went from too many guards to WAY too many wings. Tisse, Shae, Deni, Bari, Toumani, JG and potentially Duop, as Duop to me is a Ryan Anderson, making him a 4, not a 5. So all of them will have to fight each other for minutes at the 3 and 4. That's a HUGE problem. If Ant gets sent out, that'll improve the situation _SLIGHTLY_ , giving Scoot and Shae the keys to run the 1 and 2, freeing up a little more time at the 3 and therefore 4. Toumani needs plenty of time, and some trust in him to score and shoot, alongside encouragement. Not the sudden decision when he gets going to pretend he's not on the court and doesn't exist, even when wide open. But this also proves the point that Tisse and JG also have got to be traded out ASAP. Once that happens, we'll finally be much more balanced rotationally. I actually believe though Deni is a huge, fantastic pickup, I really believed keeping Malcolm was actually the right move. He'd be the perfect backup PG, and the PERFECT veteran leader for the team, thus mentor as well. Absolutely perfect. And he proved it was not just words that he loved it here and wanted to be here to fully shift into that exact role, being a teacher and mentor, rather than a starting go-to guy on the floor.
I feel a bit better about Ant than you do, but aside from that I totally agree. Gotta be ready for whatever ends up happening. I also LOVE Deni, big fan of his game.
Neither , it should be shaedon Sharpe with Simon's as the sg. Scoot needs to be traded after they can get his value up.. it made absolutely zero since drafting him to begin with
Gotta give Scoot more of a chance, but I agree if he doesn't show much progress in the next few years, it would be time to look ahead at who can play that role long term. Can't wait 5+ years for him to develop into average

Exactly. Scoot can also compliment Shaedons game a lot better.
