😯 I haven’t thought about that, but now I can totally see it and I think you are right! That is why I love internet sometimes 🥰 thank you so much for that idea!
I cant believe this, I was recently in Dubai and photographed a light fixture, I wish I could paste a photo on here, so I came on you tube this morning to see if it was possible to make paper mache lamp shades, thinking it probably wasn't, and the first one that came up was yours, I absolutely am going to make some of these, thank you so much for sharing you knowledge x x x🤩
So glad you found our video ♥️ you are not the first one to share a similar story. I think sometimes prices of light fixtures are insane but you’ll see once you’re finished with this paper mache DIY you’ll be so happy of the results and you’ll have saved a tons of money! Happy DIY my friend 😘
100 years for you dear.. I was thinking why haven't I seen your video notification for a while and the notification pops up right away😅.. That's a brilliant pendant light project and totally sturdy... Definitely worth a try.. 😍👏 Color choice stunning as always 👍
I love to do projects with air dry clay too but I must admit now I think I love papier macher even more, it’s such a good discovery for me and it’s so affordable! What are you going to use to make your hanging lamp this weekend?
Thanks, I like it too and now that you say it it’s true that it looks like a turquoise gemstone! The original idea was to make an oxidized copper light 😊
@@TryToDIY It would remind me more of oxidized copper if the accent was lighter. maybe.?? I have a copper salad mould and it is blue-green in spots but looks like it had a coating of white wax over the aqua color. It was gorgeous regardless! Jo

Thank you ♥️. Since modpodge is a type of PVA glue this should totally work, whoever it’s a little more liquid than regular PVA glue so I think you need to make sure that the paper in a little bit less wet than my paper before adding the modpodge. I hope this was helpful 😊
Thank you so much for sharing. I think that the shade of rose gold you used on the inside of the second lamp is beautiful. Would you mind listing what spray paint you used as well as the color. I think it said Julien on the can. Thanks again
Hi Jessica, I love this rose gold color so much. I unfortunately bought it a while ago in a French hardware store and I cannot find the exact product online ☹️ the brand of this spray paint is in fact « Julien » this the rose metal color. This is a French website but this is the closest thing that is corresponding: www.castorama.fr/peinture-aerosol-color-touch-multi-supports-julien-effet-metal-cuivre-400ml/3256615070502_CAFR.prd?storeId=1477&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1ZeUBhDyARIsAOzAqQJnSRovKurWXt54cNMwdmMl2s3fr2iXohdd6HGoQzDu2QFqhN6UAgcaArOOEALw_wcB Hope you can open it 🙃😘
I used acrylic paint, I like it because it’s kind of addicting an extra protection and sealing the papier a little bit without varnish. Hope this was helpful, I’m sure your bedroom will look beautiful with this light on 😊♥️
Thanks for sharing! It looks like you were able to the wooden bowl one at the end without using plastic wrap, is that right? Just wondering if it still comes right off if you choose not to use the plastic. Thanks again!
Very good question. I do recommend using plastic wrap and this is why: I know that this project is made out of recycled paper and I think using plastic wrap is such a shame for this particular project but it does come of so much more easily. Truth is I tried on that wooden bowl without it (I put grease to help the unmolding) and even though it’s possible to remove it from the bowl it’s extremely hard and my first two attempt broke. The plastic wrap I used for the bigger piece was so easy to removed and looked impeccable so I reuse it to wrap clay so it wouldn’t dry 😉 I hope this was helpful! ♥️
Since there is PVA glue in it, it kinda seals the paper so it helps with humidity (you can add a bit more PVA glue in the mix to make the end result stronger). But if your country is really humid I would definitely add an extra layer of varnish (like I did for the second one) I even spilled water on it and nothing got damaged 👍
Call me paranoid but a highly flammable material next to a filament light bulb... an LED would be a much better/safer choice but I get it since the bulb looks better. Still...
Hello there, You are absolutely right! Safety first and I can’t say it enough. I actually recommended verbally in the video the same thing you wrote plus the bulb I’m using in this video is in fact an LED (that mimics the “filament light bulb”) thank you for your comment 🙏See you soon !
am I the only one who thinks the nubbily side of the yoga ball would have been fucking awesome for metallic texture?

How long does this last in a country that is humid?

I caught her mentioning led light because of the heat issue. Anyway, good that you highlighted.
