What an awfully unprofessional interview by the Times.
I was just thinking the same. Hardly fair and balanced, is she? She's attacking the poor man (her guest!) at every turn, like she came in to this with an agenda, rather than to just interview the man...
Appalling behaviour with no journalistic integrity in sight.
@@t-and-p And why does nobody ever go after Donald Trump like that?! Or Amber Heard?! The 2 most vicious people on the planet after Trump's beloved Putin.
She takes the conversation WAY OFF TOPIC too. I don't even care what kind of person Princess Diana's boyfriend's dad is! I want to know about the headline info. But this dumb broad is wasting my time.
The subject matter is nonsense, the whole issue is best avoided.
Reading Kipling’s short story ‘The Village that voted the Earth was Flat’ , a passage realizing the necessity of murdering certain women.
She tried on several occasions to distort Michael Cole's comments and she resented him correcting her. She's nothing but a stooge.
Agreed. I don't know what her problem was (or how much the Royals paid her...) but this was embarrassing to watch. He did an excellent job of holding her to account and behaved far more like a professional journalist than she did! He showed her up for her lack of research and knowledge on the subject - but only after she had been really quite abrasive to him for no clear or apparent reason.
Her nasty attitude from the get-go didn't make her look like a "hard-hitting journalist", it made her look like a bully. Unless Times Radio are trying to recategorise themselves as a GB News spinoff, then they need to get better informed presenters with better attitudes, because this was abysmal.
@@t-and-p Kate Gibeault (sp?) the woman with short blond hair and great big eyes is always just excellent. I wish she had done this interview instead of this idiot.
It made her look like an immature, ignorant, arrogant know it all - which undoubtedly she is. SO rude! I would have walked out on her.
What a horrible presenter her antagonism, completely unnecessary
Thats her job to be rude n abrupt ..n no emotion
Yes, extremely rude. If she asks someone to make reply, she should have the decency, respect and manners to hear the totality of that reply.
Typical
Mr. Cole maintained respectful civility and self-possession (a good thing, showing restraint and discipline) in the face of the interviewer's badgering. This is the most effective way to handle a show of contempt.
The mannerisms, agenda and lack of impartiality by the Times interviewer , is dragging The Times credibility through the mud.
spot on
Does the Times still have any credibility? I wonder!
The behaviour and attitude of this interviewer was ridiculous. The interviewee, however, was compelling.
Whether the man is speaking the truth or blindly loyal, there is no excuse for the appalling lack of professionalism from the host.
By all means, ask difficult questions and hold people to account - that's what journalists should do - but is there any need for the bad attitude? She is abrasive, rude, and insulting, when she could just as easily ask those same questions politely. The fact that the man has just lost someone that he said in his opening remarks that he considered a friend for 30+ years, could she not have at least given her condolences before berating him? Also, if you're going to assassinate the character of someone who has recently passed, quote/refer to the sources of that information. Otherwise you just look nasty.
Hugely disrespectful. This was an embarrassment. The Times need to do better than this if they don't want to be redesignated as a tabloid.
Very much agreed!
True.
She has a predetermined opinion,
Over the subject matter.
Evidently unethical,
And lacking in empathy towards someone who has lost a close friend..😢😢
I thought the same too... she already formed her own opinion and was looking all haughty and disdainful about it all.
Thank you for saying that, and putting it so well.
I used to have great respect for the Times, but I have to say these journalists(?)/ hosts on Times Radio often appal me with their sloppiness - in dress, manner, diction, etc. Even so, I don't recall one being quite so rude and dismissive, especially with a recently bereaved guest.
The gentleman at least on the face of it seemed rational in his approach and had some interesting and less well-known information to add to the conversation, so whatever the host's personal judgement might be on the Diana/Dodi event, if they're going to invite a guest on to speak, he should at least be given the basic courtesy of having his points listened to and not summarily dismissed as if his personal knowledge of the situation was less relevant than the host's preconceived view. It's also a discourtesy and frustrating for us, the audience, since we don't get to hear the full thing so we can make up our own minds.
Thank you to everyone who has commented on this thread - I agree with every word on here. It's reassuring to know that so many of us feel the same way! 👍
Poor guy was on trial here. I am glad he got the last word whether I agree or not. Pretty rough interview!
She cut him off once she knew where he was going with this interview. The world knows the truth. Eventually, the truth will come out.
Not if he is some idiotic pillock.
Very poor interview by this woman, paid to attack a dead man , really hideous. The gentleman dealt with it very honourably and succinctly. The time for media control is long dead, and they know it.
It’s just one of those events where Karma took its’ time coming.
Nonsense has to be called nonsense. Best idea would have been to avoid the interview, but I believe that would be called complicity in a cover up. Funny old world.
Why is the presenter apparently so seething with contempt throughout the course of this interview?
Was it in (apparently well founded) anticipation that she’d find every strenuous attempt she made at misrepresenting (all and sundry, apparently) utterly blown out of the water?
Regards colourful language, I dare say the air was blue immediately upon finishing this piece. 😅
One could say that Fayed is now as dead as a Dodo😂😂😂😂😂
@@supertuscans9512 one could, but manners maketh, old boy.

Because neither him nor his Arms dealer brother are liked. They deal in death themselves
@@taniaearle4457Spot on! and he added the "al" to make Fayed look aristocratic. He certainly did have a murky past.
What arrogance of this lass ! Talk about attitude towards this man .
This is generally her attitude. She needs to be dumped.
Agreed, I've often thought that. I usually move on if this woman is on, I find her very rude and unprofessional.
She wouldn’t be dumbed, because she did exactly what she was instructed to do by the powers that be.
Who is she?
At very least, needs to be given lessons in common respect and manners towards others.
She calls herself a journalist!!
Lol
Painful, can’t watch this person’s rudeness towards her guest. Switching off
I did too
@Times Radio , you need to either fire this woman or transfer her to a different department with a less paid job. She is clearly not fit to do interviews.
Her conduct throughout this interview was hostile and appalling. She threw horrible accusations at a man who died only a few days ago without any evidence. This is cowardly behaviour and it says a lot about you as an organisation, unprofessional. Shame on you.
I really admire Michael Cole for his measured and polite response to this decidedly uncouth representative of The Times. She is a disgrace to her profession: brash, somewhat strident and muck raking.
An idiot imo. Doubt she'll get far with that attitude.
What a biased horrid woman 😡 how much was she paid to do that I wonder?
I have met Michael Cole on Knightsbridge Station at the time of Dianas inquest, we had a lengthy conversation, the man is a gentleman and we had a pleasant conversation, he has integrity, a meeting and conversation I shall treasure
And he ALWAYS seems to present that way!
good on you Michael Cole with the comment - 'unlike yourself'!!! You managed to remain dignified and calm through this infuriatingly biased inquisition. That's probably because you're not just out of nappies like the juvenile interviewer. Just read other comments from people about this appalling interview and pleased to see I'm not alone in my feelings of indignation.
Well said, I totally share your view - what a horrid, biased and unprofessional interviewer.
I disagree with the interviewers tone and mannerisms.
Diana's death was very "convienent."..........certainly "removed" a lot of potential problems for the RF.
This happened to allow Charles to marry the person who is now referred to as Queen. From good to bad.
Nonsense !!!
Exactly! It should have been Queen Anne, Charles should have been disqualified for divorcing Diana.
@@ARolls-dd2zd 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
You know what's the more convincing theory? The late Diana voicing her support for Palestine or, god forbid showing the world what the Palestinians are going through🤔
Imagine the impact.... So by default she had to go...just like any other influential people who voiced their support for Palestine.
The presenter’s face says it all - P R E J U D I C E
AND D-I-S-R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
How utterly disgusting to run a dead man through the mud through innuendo and gossip when the man is dead and can't defend himself. This interviewer is less than professional.
Who is she, can't find her name.
@zordanajones5343 Chloe. The guy being interviewed said, "Good morning, Chloe" in the beginning. Her name is not shown on the video though. Pretty unusual for a video news outlet.
Heard the same degregation from Mellor on GBN - disgraceful lack of any respect to Al Fayeds family but at least we are seeing them as the kind of people they are.
Trash is as trash does.
Sad to loose a 'Life Enhancing' figure.
May he rest in peace.
Condolences to his extended family 👪 and mates
My daughter was lucky enough to talk with him. She was looking a for a gift for her MIL and helped her decide. She said he was really polite, interested and thoughtful.
The Times in no longer credible.
Kate Gibeault (sp?) the woman with short blond hair and great big eyes is always just excellent. I wish she had done this interview instead of this idiot.
I do think the lass at the helm here needs to find a new vocation.
Her interview skills were at best biased, predictable and downright crass.
She is the the reason people are clearly fed up with the mantra the press continue to pursue.
Thankfully she was put in her place on a number of occasions and corrected with due diligence, and rightly so, a poor show on behalf of the Times.
Common sense and a wealth of knowledge crushed the interviewer.
Why do people pull.people to bits after they have passed away why don't they say these things when their alive to speak for them selves
They used to say these things about him when he was alive.
Oh I think that they did.
The nicest people on earth found it more difficult to rise but their resilience must be admired.., what a big heart 😢
I'm surprised the Times posted this, since Mr. Cole clearly didn't give you the answers you wanted. How disappointing for you.
The subject matter is ridiculous. The problem? Fools who believe nonsense need the interview, as the absence of it would bread fresh nonsense, complaining of complicity in a cover up. Result? A silly interview and people basically getting what they asked for. Action required? Grow up.
Yes, the BIAS was as thick as tar.
for 25+ years people have known it wasn't an accident...we don't need to be reminded again do we, really?
I gather he was a good man. But the British media gave the opposite impression. Sad really.
I suggest you ask lots of his employees. You will get a different answer.

Terrible Times interviewer being so thoughtless to his familys loss.
Times Radio should be ashamed of this uncorroborated accusations of someone who has died . This journalist I’d the DREGS of society .
That sounded like an interrogation in court!
He was a loving father to his children and he was always willing to help others in any way possible! I agree with him on his son being murdered by the government of England. It's quite normal to suspect foul play when one loses a loved one, particularly when the victim was in good health. It's part of the disbelief that comes with the sudden and unexpected death of a close friend or family member. Just part of the aftermath of deep grief.
No, I think all the circumstances surrounding Diana when she died amounted to more than just an aftermath of deep grief. Too many things covered up or not taken into evidence and too many implying the final finding was not legit.
Everyone knows they were taken out by MI6 operation bright light shone in drivers eyes....an MI6 former operative told his wife on his death bed.... very sad 😔
Too many unanswered questions how can those people refuse to give evidence ? Unlawful killing sounds right. This woman has no interest in listening to what he says at all. How unprofessional to say the least.
She obviously has her own 'agenda'. Not interested in what the person she's interviewing says, and definitely had no respect for him as a person at all. Disgraceful. Hope she gets sacked.
Enough of this ! Let the beautiful memories of Princess Diana rest in peace!!
They were too scared they would have to tell the truth.
There are many people who fear to implicate themselves in this affair!
Sadly, that often happens with high profile cases and personalities - everyone ducks and runs for cover and the TRUTH is covered over.
Murdered
The man wanted to know the truth about his son's death. He would not swear because he was religious. They are lying about him. No evidence.

How Times Radio could even bother to put this out is ridiculous ....🌱😖
I wonder if it will be open coffin or open buffet?😁
Horrible woman.
Prior to the war upon Iraq, there was an English Princess who was about to forge a bond between the Muslim and Christian world.
I doubt she actually was. I think she was still on love with Hasnat Khan
She was infatuated with Muslim guys ; needed constant
Attention from man 24/7 and these guys are very good
At that . Totally diferent than western cultures .
With such important people involved I can’t believe that blood and other samples would get mixed up.
Not innocently, that is. A 'mix up' has happened in other high-profile cases.

There was.
They ordered embalming to be done in France.

The C class Mercedes that she was travelling in are equipped with rear seat belts.... if she had been wearing one of them then undoubtedly the lovely princess Diana would have survived the crash, her bodyguard survived in the front passenger seat because he was wearing his seat belt

Oh dear, the interviewer must have been getting out of bed on the wrong side for all her life. Even her face looks tense and angry, maybe she has a secreted axe to grind? I had nodded off in front of the TV, and woke up just in time to hear the breaking news about the car accident. My immediatebinstinct was that it was deliberate, to ensure that a future king would not have Dodi Fayed as a stepfather. I still believe that.
Shes not going to get very far in her carreer if she continues to be nasty and know it all
A well known pattern that was not interfered with to protect her. Sooner or later the natural consequences would run their course and the crown was just fine with that.
The road that went into that tunnel had a tricky drop and turn...the driver could have done anything as simple as looking into his side mirror's and OVER corrected his steering...
