Take a stab in the dark: by same three songs, you mean Departure, Esperanto, and Cannonball? Yeah, those are great, but Zero’s got a lot of other bangers too. You can tell that themes like Straight Ahead and Break Out were really limited by the hardware when you listen to the Physis/Mythos and Telos tracks respectively.
I feel you brother. I've always believed that Straight Ahead, Max Heat, Caravan Hope For Freedom and Power Bom are not made covers in the same amount like Cannonball and Falling down. I would add Ride armor from X8 sounds like this, but that's another story.
