Hey justin, this was a low transition out from the ridge and back on to the ridge, not recommended. I've only done tandem HG, and liked it. having said that, it is really nice to pack your wing in a backpack and travel anywhere with a normal car that doesn't need special considerations to carry an HG. we do trips every year to various comps, south/central America, or EU and just carry our gear. eitherway you will learn about thermals and fundamentals of both sports. with a PG, if you push it and end up in a tree 99% you just hang in the tree and not fall through because of the nature of the wing. happy flying...
