    KQ, the company, started as a music production company. Ateez is their first kpop group and has an entire journey. KQ is a small company, and the budgets started tiny, but KQ has always been committed to doing the best, most visually-intense videos they can do. Considering the size of the company, they spend an outrageous amount on music videos, but it's so worth it. I do recommend you react to some dance practices, too - they're always incredible. In terms of next reactions, Crazy Form and Work are the most recent title tracks, but Answer and Deja Vu are excellent choices. If you want a completely different vibe - more summery - go for Wave, Promise, or Eternal Sunshine. Or a different vibe again, go for Turbulence or Empty Box (special clip). One thing you never experience with Ateez discography is boredom.

    The sound of Halazia is haunting and angry at the same time. Its fighting for my top 2 favorite ateez song with guerrilla (number 1 will and will always be answer).
    Halazia doesn't really have an actual meaning but following the lyrics of the song you can assume its like a name.
    "Be the light, oh Halazia." They're praying for someone to help them from their dark and bleak world. So you describing it as cultish is pretty spot on.

    BE THE LIGHT HALAZIA!
    This song slaps so freaking hard!
    If I remember correctly, Halazia is connected to their song 'HALA HALA' (Hearts Awakened, Live Alive), where also the name Halateez comes from (which you will learn about the more Ateez you react to 😅)
    A tip to reacting to Ateez, expect the unexpected... 😅

    A little background on them, but KQ actually started off as a small company! They were originally not even looking to promote idol groups and were specifically a management company. It all changed when our captain Hongjoong sent a letter to them at 17 years old haha. He is quite literally the first trainee KQ ever had. It makes it all the more crazy that KQ has grown into what it is now. They now have music videos that, as you said, look like they cost a lot of money! It's all a culmination of the hard work and passion ATEEZ has been putting into their craft. Currently, they are the most successful K-pop group that is not a part of the big 4 companies. It's definitely not easy to break through the K-pop industry coming from a small company, but they did it nonetheless!

  • @ShineStarTiny
    @ShineStarTiny Місяць тому +20

    In Halazia they're praying so as far as we know Halazia is a Goddess, they are begging Her to give them hope that's why they say 'be the light'.
    The song for me is an expression of grief and anger, the cult like vibe is intensional and you will understand more as you learn about their universe lore.
    Answer is my favourite title track of them but Halazia is a close second.
    Also Ateez usually has a comeback every 6 months haha that's why the MVs released date are so close. The members have said that they don't feel comfortable taking long breaks or being away from the fans.

    If you watch halazia immediately after guerilla, it makes more sense. Huge lore but the jist of those 2: guerilla, they overtook the government that eliminated emotion and forms of expression. You can see the kids in the classrooms basically brainwashed, and the city is very plain, which explains the kid at the end coming out of the fence, showing he broke away. After they overthrow, in halazia, they are representing the perspective of the city's people who now have to learn how to cope with all of their emotions coming back. Imagine the ball as their emotion that they are choosing to live with even though its harder.
    The "scarecrow" is actually the uniform for Halateez (the original 8 that disrupt with music, singing, and dancing.) The end of Deja vu, youll see Yeosang being captured. If you watch "Say my name" (taking place before guerilla) you'll see some of the original halateez members caged up, and eventually a new 8 take on their persona to continue their work (alternate dimension ateez). Hala Hala performance vid shows the new 8 in full-blown halateez uniforms. The hour glass you see in some of their vids is how they travel dimensions and timelines.
    When you see a big guy in white covered in chains, that's a government guard trying to track and catch them in a few of their vids.
    That's prob the most watered-down lore explanation i can give without writing a novel, lol. It's a lot to take in, and the group has admitted that there's so much more to it that we dont even know about. So we are able to theorize any gaps lol. I just love that the lore is actually meaningful, not something completely random.
    Thanks for the reaction, and keep them coming! We love it!

      Ah, also, KQ started off BROKE broke. Their debut vid (pirate king) and (treasure) they focused on having real scenery vs CGI to save as much money as possible. Both vids and songs still turned out amazing! They've come a long way, well deserved!

    Hi! I just watched the Killing Voice reaction yesterday 😅
    Thank you for this reaction!
    Bouncy took some time to grow on me, only bc I found all the 5 other tracks on that album (The World Ep 2: Outlaw) SUPERIOR to it. (Highly recommend an album listening reaction) It was my first time as an Atiny to actually rank all the B-sides on an album higher than the title track 😂 Bouncy live though is amazing. I got to experience it last year on their Break The Wall tour.
    Halazia is my 2nd fav Ateez title track, after Answer. I have not stopped streaming the mv since the day of its release 😂 (oh btw, the pre-chorus beats are only here on the mv, not in the actual studio audio release)
    Halazia was actually a sort of surprise album release (even though the music was teased at the end of Guerrilla mv) Ateez albums actually have a storyline involved & the story of Halazia was a spin-off that Atinys were not expecting. I think we only had abt a month's notice before the album drop 😅
    Halazia was the first Ateez song that I heard live. It was the concert opener and what an experience. My heart almost jumped out of my chest hahahaha.
    Other Atinys will chime in with more comments I'm sure. But let me share this for the sake of metalhead Atinys, check out Djuni's metal version of Halazia. It is 🔥 🔥 🔥
    Again, thanks for your reaction. Looking forward to more Ateez. They're my No 1.

    Saw Halazia live in LA on the 20th. If you don't see a live performance of Halazia you're missing out. I have footage but it's not high quality. Definitely recommend finding a fancam of Halazia live. The acting is as amazing as their vocals and dancing. We are so proud of their growth. They literally came from nothing since KQ was a small company and other groups that debuted at the same time as them came from the top 4 biggest K-pop companies. They worked hard and helped KQ become a medium size company. They also made it possible for KQ to debut Xikers. They are self-made artists. Seeing them perform at stadium makes Atiny so proud and empowered ❤

  • @spiritlive5792
    @spiritlive5792 Місяць тому +7

    There IS a lore that starts at debut. It's a bit complicated and others probably would be able to explain it better than I could.
    Watching them in order might help with the lore...(time travelling , dimension hopping pirates that is battling the android which you have seen a few times. The guy in the white mask)
    If you don't care about the lore though then I would recommend Answer and Wonderland next.

    I was in doubt here... you know that they consider themselves a troupe of pirates 🏴‍☠️⚓️⛵️✨right? This is their concept and their fight. So in the themes they have a lot of search for freedom, crossing challenges and overcoming.

  • @marybethhennessey5528
    @marybethhennessey5528 Місяць тому +2

    It's difficult to follow Ateez music videos without understanding their lore first. Here's the best explanation I've read to date: Ateez are pirates who were gifted that hourglass (called a Chromer) which allows them to travel through time and between dimensions. At first, they are searching for treasure and having adventures, but they run into bad guys with chains where their faces should be. The bad guys are from Dimension Z, whereas Ateez is from Dimension A (which is presumably where we are as well).
    However, there is another version of Ateez from Dimension Z called the Black Pirates (aka Halateez) who are the enemies of the no-face guys. At first Ateez teams up with Halateez to fight against the no-face guys (they are the ones in the black hats in the MVs for Answer, Say My Name, and Hala Hala). Eventually something happens and Halateez disappear (not clear on this part) and Ateez ends up in Dimension Z instead of Halateez. What they discover is that the no-face guys are in charge of the government and they have brainwashed everyone in Dimension Z to have no emotions so that they can be controlled. Ateez sets up a subversive movement to take down the corrupt government and restore emotion to the people. To do this they use propaganda in the Guerrilla music video and chili peppers in the Bouncy music video (because apparently people can feel the burn of the spicy chilies and that helps reconnect them to feeling). They also smuggle weapons in the chilis. Halazia again is a bleak existence and the song lyrics speak to a lack of emotion and control and not feeling alive.
    I will stop the explanation here because I don't want to spoil your reaction to Crazy Form and I will finish it after you react to Crazy Form.

    I'm sad that your reaction to Guerrilla on Coachella got blocked and I couldn't watch it, that was your first reaction to their live performance. I guess you probably reacted to the video posted in the official Coachella channel and therefore got blocked, if you ever plan to react to their other performances on Coachella use the fancams and you'll be safe. There are some high quality fancams for that night. That being said Halazia is still one of my favorite Ateez songs after 2 whole ass years, it has such a cool and daunting aura to it, also I'm a sucker when it comes to using the bells to create some gloomy atmospheres

    I just watched your other ateez reactions! Im glad you like them a lot! Theyre my ult because their songs are so unique and their performance is amazing.
    In the bouncy mv, you were right when you were guessing mingi and seonghwa!!! Mingi is pronounced with a hard g sound. Like the g in guerrilla. Im sure youll get used to their faces if you keep reacting!
    I think halazia is one of their most beautiful mvs. The production of it is top tier. I think all their mvs are great though, but halazia is pretty beautiful. To be honest, i never realized how oddly structured halazia is (like you mentioned, the verse, prechorus, chorus) only because im used to their odd structures. There actually arent THAT many weird structured ones, but halazia is one. Horizon is the first one i listened to that was so odd, that i also had to sit afterwards thinking about how weird it was. But that i really liked it. There is no mv for the song. They have a few live performances and a dance practice and thats it. But if one day you feel like listening to something different, i recommend that one.
    As for recommendations, you could always do the songs in their killing voice. I think all of them except for a few dont have mvs. Oh, maybe fireworks (im the one) and answer, those would be my recs. Answer is beautiful as well.
    Oh as for the song Halazia, ateez have said that its supposed to be reminiscent of their older song hala hala. Thats actually my favorite song, so def recommend that one too. That does have an mv. Youll want to watch the performance version. Thats the whole song.
    Sorry for the long comment! i hope you enjoy your ateez journey!

    so about halazia it could be like the goddes of light that could give them hope or a word they made themselves as other comments said but also it means quartz. So as a greek person i have to say that χαλαζίας[halazias] is the word for quartz in greek and if you look better in their mvs they do have quartz for example in say my name. Also at 14:53 you can see Yunho being inside the hourglass[an important object for their story] and those little pieces surrounding him could be pieces of halazia\quartz since sometimes they are used for hourglasses. Anyway I believe that it could have a lot of meanings at once and I hope I helped a little. I really liked your reaction, cant wait for more ateez

  • @ureignhere
    @ureignhere Місяць тому

    About KQ, they are still relatively small in the Industry. Especially compared to the Big Four (JYP, SM, YG & HYBE) Mingi has even stated that they started with 10+ employees and now they have over 100 (as of 2024). The CEO is very reclusive and we've only seen him a handful of times, but he makes sure to spoil Ateez. When they were preparing for Coachella, he hired them professional physicians for their health because "they basically work like athletes" (Seonghwa stated in an Interview) and gave them a bonus. (Hes okay in Atinys minds so far, lol us kpop fans dont really trust CEOs of Kpop Companies, they usually are dangerous, narcissistic and toxic but thats another topic for another day).
    KQ was really broke before ATEEZ, after Ateez started making big bucks, the MVs started getting more cinematic (around 2020? I think). But the older videos are still beautiful, especially Inception, Wonderland and others.
    Notes for the Storyline: Halazia is the aftermath of Guerilla MV. Guerilla is the song that is meant to break everyone out of the evil guys mind control in a world where art n music arent allowed. So they literally start Guerilla Warfare n BREAK THE WALL lol. But they dont win n have to inspire hope again with Halazia. Letting others know that they can they can have their - Hearts Awakened, Live Alive & Be the Light even in dark times. Or Hala Hala their rookie song, (which means hearts awakened, live alive- see their Performance video for it. Hala Hala and Halazia connect even after years). They still have a bit of the Pirate Concept thrown in (with songs like Horizon, Dont Stop MV n others), but its more modern & futuristic rebellion freedom fighters.
    Hope these helps you a bit, love your reactions 😌

    Also its a running Joke that ATEEZ have a cult playlist. Songs like Halazia, Wake up, Dune and others that are really creepy, have insane live performances or have dark lyrics.
    Speaking of Live Performances, you can watch their lives uploaded by user sanie on YT for some insane examples of their Performances.
    (Bare in mind, i think Japanese lives and anything uploaded by KBS, MNET & MAMA will be automatically blocked, so the lives from their DVD Stages are better to react to and user sanie on YT has the best quality ones, they dont get blocked from what UA-camrs have said.)
    You think Guerilla was crazy, wait till you see Desire, This World, Halazia, Take me Home, and Wonderland lives. Those are just some, cause all are Immaculate. Even the fun songs are just such a vibe to watch live or at home 😌.
