I’m an immigrant and have been in Halifax for about 5 years. I always had a feeling that now I feel like I know Halifax a little bit but still am a stranger. But I realized that Hali did become my home when I couldn’t stop smiling and tearing up listening to this song. I want to huge thank you for reminding me that I fell in love with Halifax. ❤️
Sean, this is Rodney Smith. You may not remember me, but I was a patron at Strange Adventures. You had me smiling ear to ear with this track. No longer living in Halifax, but anyone who did knows it's siren's call. You nailed it.
I would love to meet this guy. Forget the fact that his music is absolute fire, but he seems like a genuine dude. He'd be a great tour guide for Halifax!
Man, I've listened to this track so much, just now saw this video. This may sound odd, but as a military brat I never really had a hometown, through this song I got to live a little vicariously and imagine what that kind of life would be like.
Love this song! I actually visited Halifax as a kid with my family when I was about 7...... but this song actually reminds me of growing up in my own hometown; although the names and the specifics are different, the vibes and reminiscence is so pure, it's easy to relate! Every once in a while when I want to think about where I grew up, I visit this song. Fantastic shit! :)
This song actually got me through some tough times living in a province I was really unhappy in. Delighted to say I've been back in Halifax for almost 3 years. Love this city.
BRO!!!! Had goosebumps the entire time...teared up pretty quick... then burst into laughter when I saw Jo. This is THE BEST EVER!!!! Thank you soooo much!!! Although, those aren't the dance moves I showed you 15 years ago at Halifax Dance! Hahhaha
There's nothing to bring you out of the gloom of a Monday morning then another solid Wordburglar track! Even though I'm from the Prairies this song makes me feel like I've grown up on the East Coast. Also loving the Cybertronic Spree shirt! Keep up the great work Burgie!
Nice - Im posted up in hali. tbh not quite moving mountains for me fam.. sry but I like the idea of pulling rickshaws.. You mean rickshaw as in a manual-Manpowered-motorless Asian TukTuk?? that fam, is fricking awesome!! good exercise too I bet. Like where does one even buy a tuktuk/rickshaw around here?? Order from Thailand or China I guess.. Song is not terrible though, and is only one I've heard yet
No. It is not the same. Outta here with your Gyro/Giro/Gero talk! Lol You're right about one thing - they are delicious. Come to Halifax and go to Tony's like the man said!
Let's try to answer that. I think a Gyro will have a more traditional middle eastern sauce, like tzatziki, where an east coast donair has a sweet garlic sauce, made with condensed milk, vinegar, and garlic powder. The filling? Spiced & sliced meat, tomato and onion. Cheese and/or lettuce if you're inclined, but try not to. Regional and restaurant differences about, but yeah, try the one at Tony's. I'll trust WB on that one.
Besides good? I don't know that Wordburglar completely identifies as a Nerdcore rapper but he runs with many in that community. Check out Jesse Dangerously, Backburner, Timbuktu, More or Les for more canadian artists that run in the same vein. Check out Mega Ran (formerly known as Random), Beefy, Schaffer the Darklord, MC Lars, Dr. Awkward, MC Frontalot, and Optimus Rhyme (they disbanded years ago though) for more nerdcore. While many of these artists songs are nerdy in nature with videogame/pop culture references, you'll find many that aren't. For the most part they all feature much lighter hearted material and comical material that harkens back to late 80's hip hop. They also all have very unique style of rapping/beats. Frontalot is like none other.
Sean dad says he knows you he said he went to school with you he's name is Paul alley please reply it would make me so sooo happy and like this comment if you think they could know each other love you Sean ❤️💛💚💙💜
This song makes me homesick for a place I've never been. That's skill right there.

Is a donair the same as a gyro, just named different? would like to try one tho they look tasty!
No. It is not the same. Outta here with your Gyro/Giro/Gero talk! Lol

Brian Morton thanks. Would be kind of hard for me to do tho because I live in the states :)
Tony's Donairs are the VERY VERY best ! End of discussion.
And remember, ONLY in Halifax can you get an authentic donair. Anyone else [outside Hali] who tries to imitate it doesn't do it so well ;)
came here from captain canuck
i heard you know how to get to mars
What kind of rap is this?
