  • Nate found us the perfect rear end for the 1933 Plymouth at a local junkyard. It's a Ford 8.8 with a 31 spline and 411 gears. This will give the car more torque and power. It will also make it easier to get brakes. So we need to cut it out of the Ford truck and haul it back to the shop then we need to tackle the steering 😅 BONUS episode: • Steering dilemma solve...

Chad you are absolutely correct, I'm 52 now but from 16 to 24 I worked in a junkyard and I couldn't have paid for a better education. You learn about every aspect of cars trucks campers cycles etc. I have been able to fix things that even dealerships won't do or can't do, that's exactly why Nathan has knowledge in so many different things. That rear-end is going to make a huge difference for Jolene whopping ass on the dragstrip.

Chad,, Jolene and Nate, what an entertaining video today from grapping up the 4:11 ratio rear end and powerlifting it onto the Ford dually pick up ..Then back to the shop to work on installing the steering box on the 1934 Plymouth. What was hilarious was when Chad came back with original steering box that he forgot that it came with the car. Which made Super Nate's installation much easier. Chad and Nate really enjoy working together. It's very obvious to us fans.

Taping around your bracket with a small ball peen hammer will cut the shape and the bolt holes in one go. It works great for making gaskets too. Gasket material can be purchased at any auto parts store and is WAY cheaper that trying to buy OEM gaskets.

Most 8.8" rear ends have axle tubes that are only plug-welded into the housing. You put a lot of torque there and the axle tubes can break loose and turn in the housing. However , good results can come if you use a nickel rod and weld the entire tube where they enter the housing.

You know that there are 3 bolts of the same size for a reason. A smaller one in the mix is a weak spot considering all the strain on this, and it is your steering. In the end, you are the boss, but you should let Nathan do it the way he wants to with the large bold. He knows his stuff, and yes he will do what you want him to, but he won't feel good about it. I sure would not like it, anyway.
