I'm not siding with Dr, but this comment is really dumb.. While a majority of countries have an age of consent of 16, more than a dozen have the age of consent of 15 or lower. So Costa Rica is in no way unique in this.
Ontop of that, being within the age of consent doesn't mean that a 30+ yo can be inappropriate with a minor. To continue the example of Costa Rica, the legal age gap is a maximum of 7 years. Meaning that in Costa Rica, if you are over 24 years old, it's simply illegal to do stuff with a minor, even if they are in the age of consent range.
This applies for most countries by the way.

One sides believers like to think that the age of consent is end all be all, and if the minor was above it, the situation is ok.
On the other side, everyone is like "Huh huh, look at this funny, we should send Dr to a country with a low age of consent", and similar. It gets tiring to repeatedly see it..

@@papatinkle1823 There probably is more to the story. But regardless he still admitted he knew it was a minor and did it anyway. The same way real life predators get in trouble whether the person is real or an undercover agent.

Well we are not in those other countries lol. Do i think it’s more to this situation ? Yes i do. But the person at the time of the offense was under 18 doesnt matter if its a day or a year its still under 18. He knew it and still did it and even said the conversations were teetering on being explicit. Hopefully more comes out eventually bc i was a fan and hope for the best but he still admitted to what he did.
