Thankfully, EDH Sharazad is slightly less awful than it could be.
See, in regular magic there's this nightmare of a rule:
__722.4. All objects in the main game and all cards outside the main game are considered outside the subgame (except those specifically brought into the subgame). All players not currently in the subgame are considered outside the subgame.__
But this is thankfully (unintentionally) stopped by an EDH-specific rule:
__10. Parts of abilities which bring other traditional card(s) you own from outside the game into the game (such as Living Wish; Spawnsire of Ulamog; Karn, the Great Creator; Wish) do not function in Commander.__
You can still loop it, of course, you just can't create a recursive nightmare. There's only three banned subgame cards to play with, so you can only go so deep.
@@Gemini476 you basically need to copy your own shahrazad while it's on the stack, get the original back into the deck somehow, and ideally do this in a way that also gets itself back into the deck before the copied shahrazad resolves. Which is probably possible - but due to its convolutedness and requirement of otherwise horrible cards not even close to a cedh move.
I love how it was like "He casts his 100% real, non-proxy, ancestral recall. Can we get a close-up of that? Isn't it BE-A-U-TIFUL?" it was very beautiful to look at though xD
It was funny to see in the game that has $1000 sol rings $15000 dual lands and maybe?? A real black lotus I couldn’t tell lol

Eh Thassas Oracle consultation is a two card combo that wins on the spot

@@michaelrichards5253 thassa's oracle states that you can look at x cards(x being devotion to blue) frok the top of the library and if x is greater then thee number of remaining cards you win the game.
Consolation makes it so you name a card and remove cards from your deck until you hit the named card.
So you play thassa and with the effect on the stack you play consultation naming a card that doesn't exist in your deck. This exiles your entire deck consultation no longer has cards to remove so it's effect ends and thassa's effect goes off

I like how I got to see just how powerful some of these cards are, and why many of them should remain banned. I may not agree with the way the ban list is currently handled, but there definitely needs to be a ban list, and Griselbrand and Time Walk are prime examples of why, lol. Still, it was SWEET to see the Griselbrand go off!

Lutri isn't banned for being OP. He's banned because there's literally 0 cost to play him if you're in UR. He doesn't even take a slot in the 99
it was banned for being a 101st card with 0 effort that went into any red/blue/x deck, not because it was strong lol
Like the other comments here say, it's not banned because it's good, but you would be wrong to not play it in 99% of decks that run Blue and Red. The decks that wouldn't run Lutri would be the Persistent Petitioners and Dragon's Approach type of decks. Having something that is a literal must include is really unhealthy for any game and it's very reasonable that Lutri is banned for this reason

I was expecting a golos deck, it would be comic, as if the episode was made in honor of his ban

Golos turbo Ad Nauseum was indeed the best of its kind, but not something out of the ordinary as far as content is concerned.......

I'm usually not one to complain about Thoracle here, but considering how your previous no banlist video's game ended, it was a bit disappointing to see Thoracle win both games, although the Griselbrand play was really exciting

It's a reanimator deck aimed at getting banned creatures into play. Kenrith or Golos would've been much better, but I didn't just want to do 5-color soup.

No banlist but the wincon for both games is still the very legal, very cool thoracle. Obviously griselbrand and and fast mana makes it better though

I do think when you have the only one rule. To find fun game to play with no banlist, to actually ban Thassa's Oracle from that as an exception of the only rule.
Trying to do the same thing in No Banlist cEDH as you do in regular cEDH isn't fun unfortunatly.
I do wish this would have ended differently.
However, I love the videos you do, I think it's the best you could watch for an cEDH player. So I'm not here to give you crap.

I like that Arcum Dagson's flavour text is all about not wanting artifice to ruin the world but he's a ridiculously powerful commander in an artifact deck and capable of hyperfast combos

For the first game, i saw mike's hand, and was like if no one has a free counter spell then hes going to win, and low and behold, he won lol.
Exactly my response, something like 4 or 5 mana t1 with an extra turn? That's super value town right there with a wheel after wards.

First time watching this channel (I’m used to watching normal commander and stuff, Game Knights and the like), what even were those games, they lasted like 5 minutes!
I really loved this with the pseudo banlist restricting the flash/time vault out of your games. I wish there was a minimal banlist CEDH format. Really brings back memories of Vintage games back in the the mid 2000s. Such spicy plays for everyone!
"Ryan hard casts Force of Will" - that's never something you want to hear.
12:59 here Ryan should have activate _Crashing Drawbridge_ so he could then use Arcum to get something like idk _Paradox Engine_ or _Grafdigger's Cage_ and then recast it once bounced or do something else...
He didn't have a target

Good lord that first game was blazing fast. Honestly even though grisledaddy is a stupid powerful draw engine, demonfish is still what wins games. I kind of wish they would ban just fish for this reason. It's almost all that's out there for a lightning fast win. Great match otherwise guys.

So much happened, in the end finished like 80% of all cedh games... demonic oracle combo.
I usually don't comment but Ryan's playmat is soooooo good.
What I learned most from this is that the Thoracle combo needs to be broken up. It's always the most efficient win line and it's gotten stale. Demonic Consultation and Tainted Pact can easily be removed from the format without harming any other archetypes.

But honestly, one can really tell why some cards really need a ban.
Good thing the RC has a different philosophy on what should be banned and (for the most part) is consistent on it. Thoracle ends the game and doesn't drag it out. If I had a dollar for each thoracle hate comment, I could afford NBL with no proxies.

It takes Thoracle combo getting into the RC's personal playgroup and/or a myriad of negative comments about it to get yeeted.

Finally. Commander played the way it was meant to be played.
I probably would have built Golos-Lutri Stax that tries to find that card that puts 10 lands into play tapped, to win with maze’s end. It sounds fun.

Game 2, turn 6 couldn't ryan have used drawbridge to give his commander haste and use him in response to the bounce. Idk what else was in his hand, but he might have been able to pull something off
Someone asked a question about if y'all use proxies or anything on the last video and I'm pretty sure y'all responded. I know that this might be difficult to do but would it be possible for y'all to make a video about y'all's collections? Or maybe just that most prized pieces of your collections? I'm sure a lot of us would like to know what spicy cards you guys have that y'all keep stored away to accrue value.
