It shows you how good of a format vintage cube is that someone like LSV and Benjamin have different drafting strategies and still build good decks. Vintage Cube is the BEST Magic format.
I just don’t get burst lightning over mesa early on in a draft when you don’t necessarily know what potential splashes you might want, you have a lightning bolt, and burst lightning is a pretty replaceable effect in the cube…even more so if you end up red/black
Was about to comment the same.. Especially with 2 red aggro cards the mesa becomes so much better because if you want to play a 2nd color with red you need to have fast splashes to still be aggro which mesa grants..
I'd love to hear his opinion on this too. I'd guess he'd say something about the difference on a powerful fetch vs synergy to clear the way for ragavan and end the game early in red.
I would have taken inti my 7 creature deck that just picked up jitte. Not really sure why the good removals are even a consideration when you already have so much of that. Especially in lurrus inti seems good since you can get back discards and it grows things into a threats that are hard to get in your lurrus deck.
24:26, after damage sac the creature to destroy their talisman, then they can’t cast cryptic because you move to 2nd main and they lose the 3rd blue, then cast your Lurrus
