as far as im aware Coffee's goal isn't just to point it out, its to show how deep it runs and how badly it hurts people as he tends to put a lot of focus on the victims and even interviews them. its sometimes its hard to notice how bad something is until its shoved in your face and thats what Coffee tends to do.
There's also the problem that this method of gambling seems to run rampant in teens, as seen in coffee's video, implying very high accessibility to underage people who dont understand the value of the money they are using to fuel their addiction.
Something ive never understood about these gambling problems involving children is why would their parents let their kids have access to their credit card details? They're kids they don't know much about the value of money.
Minors don’t have money. This absolutely needs to be on parents. If your kid is spending hundreds of dollars on your credit card and you can’t be bothered to deal with them then I guess your kid is just gonna waste all your money
TF2 also has a gambling problem including UA-camrs getting sponsored by TF2 gambling websites but no one talks about it outside our community :( (I don't actually care about the gambling, I just want TF2 to get more attention than Counter Strike)
Stopping kids from gambling through CSGO can be achieved if put a KYC system in place. And with how often Steam accounts get hacked, I don't think having a KYC would be a good idea. On the other, where tf are parents of these kids?
while I get the point of the video, I have to wonder if this is more on the user than the developer. After all, how far can we really blame a large company for what we do with things we buy from them?
All that makes sense, but we're also talking about literal children who engage with these gambling mechanics. Adults can be held responsible for their choices, but kids don't always fully understand what they're walking into.
It depends on the game, I don’t really know pretty much anything abt csgo so I can’t say much however games like fifa are a clear example of the company having to be held accountable
It actually sucks that I had to skip chunks of those two videos. 60 Minutes of leading on, filler and unnecessary editing, it could've easily been 1 20 minute video.
This is a rare miss from Coffeezilla for me cause realistically, I don't think there's a realistic way to stop the gambling in CSGO and in TF2 and DotA 2 aside from just straight up removing trading. If the issue is underage gambling then I mean, isn't this a parenting problem? What 12-15 year old with responsible parents has unrestricted access to a credit card?
First thing first they can get rid of loot boxes. Or literally any of their law-bypassing names: Loot crate Surprise mechanics Treasure chest Mystery box Reward box Prize box Grab bag Booster pack Randomized loot Gacha system Virtual crate Item container Reward container Digital loot bag Fortune cookie Jackpot box Mystery crate Random reward box Gift box Chance box etc. etc. But since they won't do that and they themselves has exploited loophole to keep them around, we can still expect underage gambling to skyrocket even more because Steam literally has no real age verification or parental controls like in, you know, Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This is the one thing they get right no matter how terrible they are.

Saying CSGO had a gambling problem is like saying people spend money in a casino

>pay to purchase crate
>pay to purchase key
>steam takes a cut of the marketplace trading
Tends to happen.
Underage gambling is different from legal gambling but yeah
Something ive never understood about these gambling problems involving children is why would their parents let their kids have access to their credit card details? They're kids they don't know much about the value of money.
Isn't selling skins or accounts over 3rd party for real money something that happens with tons of games that have luck based unlocks?
It ain’t legal tho lol those games insta ban you if they find out.
Yes but not many of them make 2.5 billion yearly
@@lastcuneyt3334 Huh, didn't know that
Valve makes a cut of every sale.
nooo, in most games you can't sell your items, so it's basically just an ingame casino, seen from that perspective Valve is way less worse

Thank you
To the people saying Coffeezilla isn't suicidal, as if Gaben would send out his death squad, he already has his money's worth
Literal pachinko
Yep, that's the whole video haha
You see, I didn't have a credit card and my parents didn't want to buy useless garbage like this so I never deloped a cs gambling addiction lol
Everything is not about you!!!
@anime4ever4life Evertything is about me.
@@HeyHowRUdoing trust me on this one, I'm a self-centered ignorant prick myself, but please LET people have opinions and ideologies.
Same happened to me. But I also thought the skins sucked and I didn't get the point of spending 2.50 to open them.
Just say you’re parents broke dawg
Can you make “The Blake Lively Smear Campaign” Film cooper please
The whole video was about that? Isn't this common knowledge?
I don’t know why but I thought this was about Mr beast for a minute
The fact people still call it CSGO (after it was renamed CS2 a year ago and further ruined) shows how the game was doomed.
Just a habit

Yeah kids don’t just spawn with money. It comes from somewhere! Parents abdicating responsibility to a company/the government yet again
while I get the point of the video, I have to wonder if this is more on the user than the developer. After all, how far can we really blame a large company for what we do with things we buy from them?
Drug dealers get more blame then addicts

sounds like you don't know why it's called a gambling "addiction"
Valve gets a cut for every sale made, its very beneficial for them that gambling stays as it is.
It actually sucks that I had to skip chunks of those two videos. 60 Minutes of leading on, filler and unnecessary editing, it could've easily been 1 20 minute video.
Exactly
It's the reason why I've stopped clicking on videos over approx 10 minutes, 😞 nowadays all the big channels are milking every single thing they can
@@Idk_about_anything he takes no bribes/pay outs lol watch time is all he has 🤣😭
@@Idk_about_anything sounds like you have a short attention span issue
I didn’t get that at all the full videos were packed with content.

First thing first they can get rid of loot boxes.
Or literally any of their law-bypassing names:
Loot crate
Surprise mechanics
Treasure chest
Mystery box
Reward box
Prize box
Grab bag
Booster pack
Randomized loot
Gacha system
Virtual crate
Item container
Reward container
Digital loot bag
Fortune cookie
Jackpot box
Mystery crate
Random reward box
Gift box
Chance box
etc. etc.

Valve gets a cut for every sale made, they knowingly allow it so that they become richer.
Coffeezilla seems to milk every single thing. Its why ive stopped watching alot of his videos
Everyone yaps now shits annoying
and yet, they gave balatro a pegi 18 in the uk because it "promotes gambling"
yeah sounds about right
pin my comment or i become coffezilla
Thank you
