As a consulting engineer for fifty-plus years, I used Daikin VRV systems in several buildings in the US. Also, my wife and I have four Daikin systems on two of our properties. I can tell the readers that, if properly and expertly installed, Daikin will last for a very long time and give excellent heating / cooling temperature control. HOWEVER, USE ONLY BRAZED FITTINGS.

Skilled brazing manpower is becoming difficullt to find, so proper and expert installation using brazed fittings will be more expensive over time.
Gas Tight Fittings are faster to install, safer (no fire required) and more consistent. We should embrace new technology rather than stay stagnant!

Daikin used to be great, Mitsubishi is above daikin although that qualiry ia also changing since trane merged with mitsu lota of their manufacturing is bwing moved to mexico to cut costs, as service tech i can guarantee u that mitsubishi ia deffinetly bettwr than daikin + mitsubishi twch support is miles bwtter thqn daikin

These joints will be lucky to last 2 years if they are as good as the coils they make now. Although will make for plenty of work for service engineers so win win. Much better to braze pipework should outlast the system.

I cannot be sure if it will leak over a long period of time but it is recommended by daikin because it's much cleaner.

Thanks for sharing but this system is another dumb Daikin idea that is set to fail..
Fujitsu had this sort of set up in their mini splits for a while and they had more warranty callbacks for gas leaks that they took it off the market and went to regular flare set up..
Just another example of Daikin trying to re invent the wheel..

Look closely, with this fitting it is impossible to over-tighten the compression nut. Many flare fittings fail because people over-tighten or under-tighten them.
