@@Argee52correct. This is probably what many coaches do. The thing is coaching it properly so guys remember and do it. Also it's getting the right guys to buy in. I'll take Thibs from NY. If you don't buy in he doesn't play you, simple. Many coaches don't and play guys who aren't fundamentally sound on D. So you need really smart defenders, guys who may be average to above but play hard and buy into the coach and the coach needs to be able to explain and implement his/her schemes.

I think it's because Monty Williams doesn't have the right players. If he was coaching the nuggets or Celtics his style of coaching would probably be more effective
Any coach’s system would look better if they coached teams with some of the best players in the league. A good coach would adapt to the situation and find a way to be successful with the group of players he has
