But, a very rare star knows how to put the light on others so they can shine, too. Backup singers have some of the most talented voices, but they often get drowned out by the sound of a main singer and booming instrumentation. It's wonderful to see the beauty of a backup singer's artistry have the glorified limelight for a change. So many of them deserve this moment, and Jessie has my heart for giving others a chance to be noticed for beautiful talents that often go unnoticed.

They are extremely talented and skilled. Backup singers/dancers exist to elevate a performance. Performance is more than just the main character. It’s about all of the pieces working together to create something wonderful. They’re part of the art. All of the actors on Broadway highly respect the swings because they know how much hard work they put in. They can know up to 10 roles and could be thrown in any of those just hours before the show. They’re lucky if they even get to rehearse a full run-through with the cast the day of. There are so many talented people that go unnoticed.

When she came by, one of my schoolmates performed a song she had written herself, and Jessie was so encouraging she actually invited my schoolmate to open her show for when she performed. I don't listen to a lot of Jessie J songs but I will always appreciate how she pulls other artists and singers up and gives them their chance to shine. My schoolmate's name is Esther Eden and now she has her own career in music which is pretty cool!

I met her once. And let me tell you she has not changed. She was kind and incredible back then. She’s kind and incredible now. I was really fortunate to have up to 5 minutes of conversation with her before I had to get back to doing what I was doing. She’s an absolutely lovely person.
So amazing that she allows her band to shine, she does it at every show! She's such an unbelievable vocalist too, so underappreciated nowadays, I recommend checking out her performances on Singer 2018, truly exceptional!
