    I’m from Hau’ula and a Native respect the area if it says stay out stay out. It’s Kapu how would u like it if someone enters your home without permission. These are Kamapua’a’s grounds his home is sacred falls; you can even ask Native Hawaiian and Local boar hunters many of them still bump into him he still roams the whole entire windward and ko’olau areas.

    It doesn’t matter how much the fine is because nobody monitors the area anyway 😅

      don't think like that. it's mindsets like that which make tourists go " oh well I won't be caught anyways" and then they get injured.

      Just because no one is reporting it, doesn't mean it isn't happening. That's why they permanently closed it. Too much of a risk.

    What we should do is give people their liberty. At the same time people should be made aware and forced to be responsible. Everyone so sue happy, it’s sick.

    How does that concept jibe with America's idea of freedom? Why not have folks sign waiver, make family and friends responsible for recovery of remains, etc. Let folks do what they like with their lives, period!

      Its disgraceful how only in Hawaii they really embody the leftist quote from Rahm Emmanuel, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”

      @@keetahbrough I had a friend who died trying to rescue people that were lost/stuck in that area. The helicopter they were on crashed and 2 others were also killed. My friend was in his 20's had a child and wife at the time...yeah - that's why it's closed - not so much for the people that risk their lives for fun but for the people that risk their lives for others!

      If you stay logically consistent with this then you'd also think America taking over was the ancient European's warning Hawaiins to leave the place they also found then justified to posess by "unfiying" the islands against Kauais will under threat of violent force (prison/death)

    • @AuRowe
      @AuRowe Місяць тому

      @@808-PFH-Kanaka-Rights I meant metaphorically, not saying they actually told them to leave. Doesn't matter where I'm from either. Lived 1/3 of my life in West Kauai. Again not that it matters but I have had many Hawaiin roommates and neighbors.
      Lot of them love the USA and not just the ones that work for the govt or hotels, when we burning to reggae and talking philosophy. I've worked my butt off to have a place to stay in a house, America is about hard work and then reaping. If you can't afford where you are then that sucks but nothing new at all.
      Newsflash, everywhere nice has gouged the poor or middle class locals out of enjoying what was their home. Also food stamps and welfare has destroyed their souls. Not to even get started with the ice and alcoholism.
