they actually were cannibals, this guy is an environmental activist who basically lives in the Amazon Jungle and there are several protected groups of indigenous people who absolutely are cannibals there. He is referring to a true story when he said "this is the part of the story where they rip me apart and dissect me to see what i eat" - he said that because those cannibals caught a logger and his wife on the beach. Just as buddy told his wife to run to the river, he got filled with 30 arrows and they ran up and sliced his stomach open within seconds. They wanted to see what he was eating. Civilized people are as foreign to them as an alien would be to me and you.
Its kind of hard to believe there are still uncontacted indigenous people, let alone cannibals but its real. And this guy has had contact with them, hes not exaggerating or making assumptions. The indigenous peoples keep getting pushed back further and further into the jungle because of illegal logging operations. So theres actually a bit of a war going on between the loggers and the native people, and they'll kill and eat ya no problem, but they do try to avoid it because killing loggers usually means they return and kill everyone.
