My cat Percy pushed my laptop off and broke the display. The laptop itself is fine, just the display doesn't work 99% of the time now. So I have an external monitor at the moment. Gotta love our destructive children.
Despite the unfortunate water spilled event, the spreads still look intricate and beautiful. Always a fan of the calmness and creativity of your monthly bujo setup videos. ❤
Thank you so much! I wish I had thought to get a picture or record what it was like when I first found it so y’all could see how much the dehumidifier saved it, but I wasn’t really in the state of mind to turn on a camera lol ❤️
this feels so rich & summery! 🌻✨ also, if i hadn't known that fixed cover page was a scan, i definitely wouldn't have noticed. great fix! and as for pets; i used to have budgies, and thus ended up with many book/journal pages slightly bent, chewed, pulled at, etc. now that they've passed away, though, i can only really smile whenever i come across a book with a nibbled page. no matter how frustrating, in the end i feel like us humans can't help loving our animal companions & all the mischief they get up to 💖
Thank you! ❤️❤️ aw yeah I know what you mean. I think fondly of the mischief my childhood dogs got up to, and as much as I get frustrated when my kitties destroy things I just love them so much I can’t stay annoyed 😂
🌼 In primary school I had a project that involved a mill worm that was kept in a film canister with dry oatmeal and a bit of apple. Our dachshund LOVED apples. I made the mistake of leaving the canister on the coffee table one night (it was in the center of a large table, mind you) and woke to find that the dog had gotten the canister off the table, opened it, ate EVERYTHING it contained. My teacher (one of my mom’s best friends) thought it was hilarious, but would not accept “the dog ate my homework” and I, a straight A student, got C on the project. I was devastated
🌼 I was decorating a cake for my nephews b-day, it was in the wee hours of the morning and I was struggling with all the piping so I strategically placed toothpicks and tented the cake w/plastic wrap. Never gave the cat a thought. Came down in the morning to finish decorating before the party only to find that the cat not only played w/the plastic wrap and ruined the piping I had done but she’d gotten into the cake and pawed a hole in it and had some nibbles. I cried and had to start completely over. It was horrific. The revenge was that she had to be bathed so she didn’t track colored frosting all over the floors and carpet. She wasn’t a cat that loved baths. I still can feel that pit in my stomach all these years later.😂
Oh no!!! 🥺😭 I would be devastated after all that work 🫠 I hope it’s something you can laugh about now! But dang sometimes cats need to learn boundaries lol
When Buster was a puppy, like all puppies, he chewed my favorite shoes... But he only chewed my left shoe. Now Toby, he didn't have a preference ... So my gym Reebok's the left is black and the right is white because Toby ate the other one. 💖🌞🌵😷
Ugh that is so frustrating about the "incident"! I have several of those glass tipping cats myself. In fact I lost a still perfectly fine MacBook to a cup spilling incident! I almost cried! Spread does look beautiful!
🌸That was a very good save! With the type of spread I think the water damage added charm, but I totally understand covering it up - it's easy to say it adds charm from here, but if you have to work with the journal and see it every day it's different. My biggest peeve when it comes to animal companions is that I don't have one now. Both spouse and I are allergic to cats, and we wouldn't be able to walk a dog enough. Apart from that: the time my mom got annoyed at us for leaving the back door open while she had put the dogs in the back yard for a while to deep clean something or other. Now the dogs were inside while they were not supposed to. Then it happened again, and again, and as it turned out the eldest dog had managed to open the closed door by standing on her hind legs, putting one paw on the door handle, and walking backwards. We still laugh about it sometimes though.
Oh wow! I’ve seen videos of cats and dogs managing that but luckily ours haven’t figured out that trick just yet 😅 though Chewy used to just slam doors open in our old Toronto apartment because the latches weren’t great 😂
My cat used to like tearing paper, but she had never damaged anything important (I usually gave her paper I was arleady going to throw out) until one day I left her unsupervised in my room and some of my (expensive) university textbooks fell victim to this habit of hers 😅, I was a bit upset, but didn't really scold her that much because, well, a cat can only understant things up to a certain point and it's not like the books were unusable. The irony is that, now that she's gone, I keep a pencil that she has chewed on as one of my most prized possessions. Beautiful spread, anyways! I really love how simple and relatively fast this looks while still being so aesthetic ✨ It reminds me of the illustrations that were on some fairytale books/botanical encyclopedia I had as a child.
Oh no, textbooks are so pricey! I was back to snuggling Chewy pretty quick, honestly 😅 I just needed a bit to recover from the stress of saving my notebook haha and I’m sorry for your loss ❤️❤️
I loooooved this spread. It’s so pretty and rustic 🌼 And what a great save with the water damage! I’ve had cats before (now a dog) and pets are just sometimes liable to get into, and create, messes. Many years ago I was into needle felting little animals and my 🐈⬛ got ahold of one and completely destroyed it. I was very sad because that was a lot of work. Needless to say, I made sure none of my artwork was ever within reach of my pets again 😂
I've had my cats fall on and try to climb in my plants - of course always the nicest, most valuable ones 😅 and my plants is my job as a creator! But it did make for some exciting content 😂❤
Wow the white paint really did soften the flowers 🤯🤩😎 I’m behind on these videos bc I’ve had some bad depression but it’s nice that I can go back and see these gorgeous spreads!

My cat Lewis once knocked over a glass of water all over my MacBook Pro, and I had just replaced the internal harddrive literally the day before, so yeah, that was awesome

I enjoyed this video. You do such lovely work on your BuJo spreads. I’ve tried the Dutch door fold and find it works so well for my schedule. Thank you for your inspiration 🪻🌷🌼🐝😊
My oldest cat, literally attacks my Bujo if she thinks I've been in it too long. The other two just jump up and sit on it. And give me this "And?" look. 😂
Oh Chewie :( The scans did come out gorgeous though. When my previous cats were kittens they ate holes in a brand new - very expensive - lambswool and cashmere scarf 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬 the way I cried (I was able to make a smaller scarf after trimming and resewing, but it definitely wasn't the same - Chaucer also later ate a thread a needed surgery for an intestinal blockage so the lesson of eating non-food things was never learned) they also tried to chew the googly eyes off my teddy bear from childhood so he had to go live in the closet for a little bit after getting brand new eyes🌻🌻🌻
Oh no!! My kitties always try to eat non-food objects and it’s so frustrating. Chewy will actively swallow as fast as he can if we notice him nibbling on something 🙄 luckily he’s never had any serious issues from it but it stresses me out!
@@PlantBasedBride oh yeah, Shakespeare is an expert at "dashing off" as soon as I realize he is eating a forbidden non-food item (very often the backing of washi/stickers/paper bits from journaling lol)
🌻🌼💐 oh my god, chewy! 😅🙈 but you got it perfectly fixed 👌 if i didn’t know I wouldn’t notice! 🙌 I luckily hadn’t any accidents with my cats but I did a scrapbooking kind of theme in may and glued a lot into my journal, which I normally don‘t do because I haven’t really the patience for all that cutting and ripping and assembling everything and all that sticky stuff…. 🙈 so in the end it was twice as annoying to do this because I have spent that same amount of time pulling out all of the cats hair which also stuck in my journal. They lose so much hair this year, I’m surprised that they are not naked yet 😅🤭
i‘d admired and coveted a big blue glass bauble for the garden at my in-laws for years. 🔵🌼 when my mother-in-law downsized she gave it to me and i was thrilled! to protect it from the harsh weather (hail storms) we were having that year i kept it under the glass awning in front of our door. secured. or so i thought. but, our neighbors‘ cat was „visiting“ our old lady cat (strictly indoors cat because of various health issues) and they were having an intense stare down contest. then, our little old lady sneezed (chronik cat flu), which freaked out the young visitor and she jumped away with such vigor from the glass door that she knocked over that huge (and seemingly well secured) glass bauble and broke it into a million pieces. my in-laws had it for 50+ years (no pets). we had it for less than 1 week. but, no cat was hurt (called the neighbors to make sure she hadn‘t stepped in any glass and cut her paws) and i learned a valuable lesson: if you think something is secure… don‘t count on it. 🙄🤷🏻🐾🐾
Oh no 🥺 I would be so sad! I’m glad no kitties were injured but it sucks when something like that happens. I get so sentimental about objects that I need to mourn them for a while ❤️
@@PlantBasedBride Oh, me too! Objects are seldom free of meaning to me. And that beautiful blue glass ball… I‘m still mourning it‘s loss. Maybe it was time for it to go. It‘s been at my in-laws for half a century and that might just have been it. 🤷🏻
I know it's a bit late (i'm only now doing my june set up - I got kittens at the end of may and haven't been game to use my office without my husband around to supervise them!) but when I was a teenager, my elderly cat started spraying again after moving house (he was desexed like 15 years prior) and sprayed all over a paper bag I had with all of my water colour pencils, brushes, and the one pallet I had at the time 😭 They'd all been gifts and I stored them in paper so they didn't get moist during humid weather but that clearly backfired when I came into my room to find it stinking of cat spray and the entire contents of the bag drenched. I couldn't be mad at him because of all the places in the house he wanted to mark as his, he chose my favourite stuff in my room...but man that entire bag was ruined! (being a broke teenager I did try to save it...but it stank so bad lol) 🌻
That would have been sweet, too! I was feeling so sad about my work being washed away so I’m glad I covered it. I did make sure to only add glue around the edges of the new page I put on top, though, so if I ever want to remove it and see the original work underneath I can do that!
My cat decided to chew on a knitted sweater I was working on so I suddenly had a giant hole in my knit that I had fix before I could work further on it took me a week to decide how best to come around it 😅 ❤
Thank you! Usually photos so I can see all the details ❤️ sometimes I take inspiration from a particular art style, though! Just depends what I’m trying to achieve 🤗
My dog got in my way while going up the stairs: I tripped with my computer in my hands and cracked the screen and damaged the motherboard 😢. 🌼 But I just set up my garden and will enjoy it with my dog nonetheless.❤
Tripping on the stairs is the worst! We never had stairs until we moved into our house and the cats love to come up or down the stairs with us right in front of where we’re stepping or sit on the stairs with their tails on the step 😅 we’ve had quite a few just barely avoided disasters!
Not really a destruction story but after a Paris trip nine year old me decided to name our new guinea pig either “Champs-Élysée” or “Napoleon”. Ended up with Napoleon and so the other guinea pigs had to deal with an overly ambitious new leader…
There are no mistakes, just happy little cats being jerks - Bobcat Ross Years ago my cat Hobbes (RIP) walked on my laptop deleted a scene I'd just written, and it never quite flowed the same way no matter how I tried. More recently, Princess loves to "help" me with my sewing. Generally by standing on the pattern I'm trying to cut out like the world's chonkiest pattern weight and meowing about how I'm doing it wrong.

Oh, me too!
Oh no 😭 that sounds so awful! We’ve never had issues with spraying and hopefully never will 🙏
🌺🥀🌹🌼🌻🌸absolutely adore your journal ideas.🐝🐝🐝💚💚💚
Thank you so much!
So beautiful 🌺 💐
Thank you so much!
Beautiful spread 🌻
Thank you so much!
🌷I think I might have left the damaged pages, and remembered that they were Chewy’s contribution. Cats cannot resist tipping something over! 🙀
That would have been sweet, too! I was feeling so sad about my work being washed away so I’m glad I covered it. I did make sure to only add glue around the edges of the new page I put on top, though, so if I ever want to remove it and see the original work underneath I can do that!
@@PlantBasedBride Nice. I just thought, someday he will be gone and you would have his “artwork,” so I think you made a good decision!
🌼 My bunny used to chew on everything even clothes 😂
LOL bunnies are notorious chewers!
@@PlantBasedBride true but he was so cute, I could never stay mad at him. 🥰
My cat decided to chew on a knitted sweater I was working on so I suddenly had a giant hole in my knit that I had fix before I could work further on it took me a week to decide how best to come around it 😅 ❤
Oh no!! I'm glad you found a way to recover 😳
Such a brilliant fix! 🌼
Thank you! I’m so glad it worked out 😅
Love the theme! Do you work off of photo or illustration references?❤
Thank you! Usually photos so I can see all the details ❤️ sometimes I take inspiration from a particular art style, though! Just depends what I’m trying to achieve 🤗
🌻🌻
So July's theme is "Mischievous Cats," right? Did it mainly hit the one side? I'd hate for the rest of the journal to be ruined, as well! :(
The whole thing was soaked 🙁 but the rest of the spreads seem to be ok miraculously after dehydrating it!

My dog got in my way while going up the stairs: I tripped with my computer in my hands and cracked the screen and damaged the motherboard 😢. 🌼
But I just set up my garden and will enjoy it with my dog nonetheless.❤
Tripping on the stairs is the worst! We never had stairs until we moved into our house and the cats love to come up or down the stairs with us right in front of where we’re stepping or sit on the stairs with their tails on the step 😅 we’ve had quite a few just barely avoided disasters!
Not really a destruction story but after a Paris trip nine year old me decided to name our new guinea pig either “Champs-Élysée” or “Napoleon”. Ended up with Napoleon and so the other guinea pigs had to deal with an overly ambitious new leader…
LOL that’s adorable 😂

one time my cat chewed on my water brush! we're canadian so it was like $16 from a local shop and the brush became unusable :(

Years ago my cat Hobbes (RIP) walked on my laptop deleted a scene I'd just written, and it never quite flowed the same way no matter how I tried. More recently, Princess loves to "help" me with my sewing. Generally by standing on the pattern I'm trying to cut out like the world's chonkiest pattern weight and meowing about how I'm doing it wrong.
LOL 😂 aw Hobbes and Princess sound lovely, if obstinate 😅 and I’m sorry for your loss ❤️❤️
❤️
Where did you learn to draw so well?
Lots of practice! Also watching tutorials on UA-cam and taking classes on skillshare over the years ❤️
