✨FAQs
What does your channel name mean? I picked "Plant Based Bride" for my blog when I started it back in 2015 as I was starting the process of planning my vegan wedding and wanted to document it. I have been vegan for 8+ years and married since 2016!
What's your real name? Elizabeth
Where are you from? I'm a Canadian from Toronto, Ontario.
Are you a natural redhead? No, I'm naturally a brunette. I dye my hair using Herbatint 8R.
Are your nails natural? Nope, they're press ons and I do them myself (see how in this tik tok: www.tiktok.com... )
What nail polish are you wearing? Rothko Red by Cirque Colors
A little surprised this wasn't brought up, but this was the first thing I thought when I saw the door drawing: January is actually named for Janus, who was the Roman deity of doorways/gates/passages and the more nebulous things associated with those like beginnings, transitions, and endings.
Oh how cool, I didn’t know this! ❤️
@@PlantBasedBride, this could be a theme for some year... The source of the names of each month. 💖🌞🌵😷
🕯️I don’t know why I felt a soft yellow glow from a candle would be the best emoji to connect with your images, but it seemed to work. Again, an amazing set up. Thanks so much for sharing. ❤
Wintry Wandering is what comes to mind. I love the artwork. It’s gorgeous!
Beautiful new year spreads :0) I see architectural transitions: a door to a new year, a window view to the future, stairs to a new place with a street lamp to light the way
LOVE your quote! Thank you!!! I am very familiar with the concept of "the next right thing" but that is often too abstract to be helpful in moments of overwhelm. Even today, as I'm struggling a bit with organizing some kitchen cabinets, the visual of focusing on the step and not the entire staircase was extremely encouraging and grounding.
For a name, maybe "snippets of aesthetic architecture"?
Love the stones and the door! The details are amazing, I love how you took your time for the steps and the result is stunning
Aw thank you 🥺 I really appreciate that 🥰❤️
Wow this was so soothing to watch! I would say this theme could be something like sleepy winter town. ❤
Oo yes that’s a great description! 🥰
Oh, I love the shading/linework on the stone blocks around the doorway. It has so much dimension with just the ink (the watercolor is gorgeous though! the shades are just right). I was gonna say, this looks like things you see on a walk in January (if you're in the Northern Hemisphere like us, lol) just the colors of the buildings muted by snow, no grass (unless it's dead in the cracks of the sidewalk), and those windows and doors that look like they lead to a much warmer indoors where you'd like to be haha. We can steal a bit from Robert Frost: Taking a Walk on a Winter Day ;) Merry Christmas! Sending scratchies to your very best helpers, Chewie and Yoda!
Oo yes I love that!! So perfect ❤️ merry Christmas to you and yours! The kitties have received many scritches and stockings full of new toys 🥰
I just love the more simple weeklies that you're trying! I think your rolling weekly has been such a staple on this channel that it truly shocked me to see something different! I am so obsessed with that gorgeous door, this makes me inspired to actually finish my Jan setup haha I would describe this theme as a love letter to architecture 🧱❄
Opening doors, climbing up steps, how very Hakate vibes! Love this! I really like the stamped letters going down like stairs! A++ love this spread so much!
I've been binge watching your videos recently and loving all of them. Can't wait to plan with you for the whole year! And your nails look super gorgeous. Sending lots of love 💕
Aw thank you! 🥰I love that ❤️
I fully expected Ebenezer Scrooge to throw that window open to make sure he hadn't missed Christmas! Love this art style, and thank you for another very merry Plantmas!
Those paintings are amazing!! LOVE the micron with watercolours!!
🪔🕯Loved your lights in the drabness of the winter gray. Always enjoy your voice and your music choices, and it's so soothing to work "alongside" your videos while I do my monthly setups as well.
I really enjoyed this Jan setup! So simple, but just so elegant 😍 The staircase and quote was my favorite. I am super excited to see how this new weekly layout helps, and if you like it. Seems more compact, but functional.
Hope you had an amazing day with family and friends. Cannot wait to see what 2023 brings to your channel. ✨️🖤
The theme makes me think of Narnia when Thomas the Faun is hanging by the lamppost and that's when Lucy first meets him and the world.
🧱 I love the muted colours. I used the lamp post and the quote in my January set up. New year always feels like a fresh start, excellent reminder to take it one step at a time. To bad there is no step emoji🤗
🌍 I'd call it cozy old world vibes.
It kinda gives me old town core feelings. It looks great
Maybe 'Fineline Architecture' as the theme? Such a lovely style, whatever it's called :) My goal for 2023 is a similar vibe for each month, using a limited colour palette and different still life drawings/paintings each month!
It was so satisfying to watch everything get colored in
The combination of the music, your lovely voice, and the beautiful art you always create made it such a nice calming video to watch today. Thank you for another year of beautiful, inspiring videos! Can't wait to see what new things you come up with next! 🎇
I was thinking a walk through Paris but I think just a walk through a town or village would suit the theme quite well 💛
I feel like all of the items in your theme give you direction or show you the way. 🌟
Would love to see a video describing the rolling weekly or "descriptions" of each type of setup. I'm new to bullet journal and would like to understand more about the purpose/function of each spread so i know what to chose for mine!
That lamppost though! Beautiful work. 🗝
I really enjoyed this Plantmas; thank you for making all these videos! Call your theme "January Evening Street" and it will convey all that lovely moodiness! Happy New Year--may 2023 bring you all good things.
I'd say Storybook Village might be a good name for it. That's what all these remind me of.
The style of the artwork reminds me of old (end of 19th century, beginning of 20th) architecture drawings. As I have seen, they used ink and watercolor even on the mechanical drawings, not just on 3D sketches. Especially the stairs remind me of that style. The difference is, that those seemed to me as more impressionistic quick sketches with loose lines and larger brushstrokes. (Apparently it is supposed to be easier to draw straight lines quickly than slowly without a ruler.) While your artwork seems more controlled in these areas. They look gorgeous by the way. I always get motivated to do my bujo when I watch your videos.
It’s giving ✨Italian Village✨ I love it!
I like the cover page and staircase a lot! Great colors 😊. TFS
I think to myself and tell my students to break it all up into chunks. I know as artists, you sometimes look for ideas, but this video reminded me that Sherlock Holmes door and number is famous, maybe you could call it something like that or look at famous doors. Great video and I started a big To Do list in my journal and I eventually got to a point, where I wanted the tasks separated by topic as well.
Your spreads makes me fall in love with painting. I love how your spreads are different and unique. ❤️
Aw thank you 🥺❤️❤️
This spread really showcases your illustration skills; lovely results.
Thank you so much!
A door to new beginnings.
Its currently midnight here in South Africa but your video is making me want to get up and work in my own bujo
Merry Christmas to you if you celebrate it! I'm in love with this theme (i guess it could be a cozy wintery town theme, or something like that, but actually "random things we can see in town" works well too!)
I really love the quote page at the end ❤️ and those lamps! So so cute!
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you 🥰🥰
Bless you for editing and posting this on Christmas Day. Beautiful set up again. So much detail 🚪🪟 Merry Christmas to you, 🎄your husband, Yoda and Chewie 🐈⬛🐈⬛
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you and yours ❤️❤️
Love this theme! It reminds me of the vibe walking through the Old Town of Edinburgh. There are stone staircases winding between many of the buildings on the Royal Mile, with gardens tucked in between. Happy New Year!
I adore Edinburgh! I hope to go back soon ❤️
Love and appreciate your work, creativity and art so, so much! Look forward to your videos - they inspire me. Can't wait for your next Plan with Me! 😻
your setup is super pretty!!
Thank you! 🥰
May this years come with many blessings! What a looooovely setup. as always!
Very Paris in the fall to me. ❤
Thank you so much for your dedication. I love the window and the street lamp.
I haven’t finished my yearly pages yet and I have no idea of what theme I would like for January. But alas something will pop up.
Have your self happy holidays
Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
🦉🐿️🕯️
Really like the theme, reminds me of like London Fog or streets of NYC (in the brownstone).
I really like the aesthetic and the feel of this set up for the month-- seems like it's very convenient and consistent, and the look of it is stellar as well.
This is so gorgeous ! I was such a fan of your dark academia/misty streets in winter/woodstone doors (yes, I know I invented the word woodstone, but it sounds nice) the first time you did it, and I still am now. Thank you so much for posting these videos ! I was so excited for Plantmas and wasn't disappointed. I think we all appreciate the hardwork and sleepless nights that were necessary to make it. Although I do wish you, along with a very merry Christmas, a good rest and many sleep-filled nights ! (If that is a wish people actually make for others...?)
I would say... wandering theme...:) happy holiday
Ohhh I just looovvee this set-up!! Never stop creating because you will always inspire someone! ( like me ) 💗i just posted my January set-up and i did a mountain theme…. Your theme is perfect for the new year! I love the finished look! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎊 ps I love your journals ❤
The vibe gives off Charles Dickens' house/town ^^ very nice!
Oo love that! 🥰
That's so great theme! Love the style of srawings!🏛
Wow this is so beautiful and calming to watch. ❤
Thanks for sharing! It was a really nice nameless setup 😅🌇🌃
I love the new to do list design!
Lovely! I’m thinking medieval town theme!
Merry Christmas Elizabeth and to you and your hubby and kitty
Love the beauty and simplicity of this one
Thank you! 😊
I love you videos ! You could call this theme “home sweet home”
Love this theme, really beautiful
I love your style, your spreads are always so cozy! 🥰
Thank you so much! ☺️
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I would call this theme, Imagine Europe. The door, window, stairs and lamp posts remind me of Italy.
Absolutely beautiful
soooo pretty! i think they looked already perfect in b/w
Beautiful theme. Merry Christmas 🎄
I love the weekly spreads♥♥♥
I love this theme! ❤❤ the combination of those washed out colors with the black inking looks very pretty. Just a quick question: the lamp does not have a bulb, right? Was that intentional?😮 happy new year Elizabeth! I wish you, your husband and your two lovely fluffy friends the best for the year 2023🙏🏻😚
You are seriously sooooo talented! I love watching you draw/paint, it's very relaxing!!
Merry Christmas everyone 🎄
This theme gave me medieval italian village vibes, idk, it's so lovely 🥰
Thank you for the amazing content this year too, Elizabeth!
I hope you can take a good rest and enjoy your time with your family! See you in 2023 💕
Stunning ✨ I love how simple and functional your layouts are. Your setup is beautiful. 🤎
In love with this theme, the illustrations are amazing. I'd simply name this theme after my favorite Philly neighborhood--"Old City" 🧱
Your work is beautiful. Happy New Year!
Gorgeous! 🏛️
As always, your setups are amazing. This gives me international travel vibes, like Italy . Happy Holidays.❄🌲👜🛄
i love this them i would of gone with calling it Whimsical Way.
Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year ❤🎉
What a beautiful spread!
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous! I’ve loved your artwork ever since I started following you but you just get better at it! I love watching it all come together as you explain what you are doing.
The door drawing is so cool! Merry Christmas!!!
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you 🥰
I would call the theme a gaslamp Victoriana theme. It isnt necessarily dated but that style in winter always makes me think of the Christmas Carol era 🕯
Oo yes I know what you mean!
😊 awesome, Stoney homey? Happy new year!
The theme can be called "Italian villaggio" and I love it!! It's beautiful!! (also, I'm an architect, so maybe that's why I like it so much lol) ❤️
I’m so jealous of your job! I dreamt of being an architect as a kid ❤️
@@PlantBasedBride there's always still time! I'm sure you'll be an amazing architect 🥰
🍁I really enjoyed this set up. Happy new Year!
Happy new year!
🕯️☕️🍂 it feels so cozy! Beautiful artwork.
Oh Elizabeth, what a beautiful way to end this year and usher in the new! Hope all your Christmas dreams came true🎄🎄❣️Happy New Year🎉🎉 enjoy your time off😅 you deserve it… thanks for working so hard to make your content so lovely, inspiring and bright✨💫🌟💫✨🌟❄️
Beautiful journal I watch from 🇱🇰
Beautiful
Great video! As for the theme, it’s almost architectural. I would love to see an architectural theme if you haven’t done it already!
🚪and 🎷 because of the jazzy music 😊
Also feliz navidad and joyeux Noel!
Amazing work!!🥇
Theme title suggestion: Vintage Street View. Thank you so much for a wonderful video!
Hey I am hoping for more Star Trek themes in 2023 so I am going to suggest a Next Gen theme in April for Picard day
It's a bit different, but it reminds me of The Ten Thousand Doors of January (which was my favorite book this past January, haha)🚪
❤The color really changes the whole look of your sketchy drawings. It completed it for me (was a bit sceptical before 😅 although its your theme and you are doing great on bring your ideas to paper) Also your dark akademia/street theme was in 2022. I think you said 2020. If not I‘m sorry and taking it back 😅. I will continue my January animal tradition (2 out of 3 years and willing to continue).😊 Merry Christmas for all of you who are celebrating.
love this 😍
So soothing, thank you so so much for Plantmas! Sending lots of good vibes :)
❄️ I got nothing so here's a snowflake lol merry Christmas
“College town that you feel connected to, rooted in” theme. I like it. Probably off base but…🤷♀️
This might be too dark for a spread for the beginning of the year, but some ideas I have for your monthly themes are:
tombstones- maybe do one of the ones with the cool skeleton head with angel wings that were common in the 18th century
Victorian mansions like the ones often seen in scary movies (classic widows walk, etc). For the haunted mansion, it would be pretty cool if you did one inspired by the Winchester mystery house.
A drowned city- ancient stone arches and columns partly covered by waves.
Just some thoughts, no pressure! Love your work so much!
The drowned city could even be inspired by "Piranesi"
Sorry, this is the last one, but your lamppost made me think of the Narnia chronicles. Like the wardrobe door, the lamppost, their crowns/diadems, Lucy's cordial, or even Aslan. You could even pull from the different books that come later in the series. Just some thoughts.
I love this so much! QUESTION: How do you figure out the calculations for your calendar sizes?
I dont exactely know what you mean but she has a grid spacing guide in her journal that has the measurements of the dots, uses an B5 journal, which is between A5 and A4 size. I think also called „tablet size“. Then the page is diivided by 7 which means there are probably 4 dot grid spaces per day horizontally.
Hope I was able to help you 😊
Did we get a reading Journal flip through/set up yet? I don't think so, and I can't wait!
