LOLOLLOLLOLOLLOOLLOOLLOL!!! I haven't seen this sketch in years. It's even funnier than it was the first time! Lily Tomlin is a COMEDIC GENIUS!! Every detail is PERFECT from the dice in her hair to the pool green chiffon gown to the "Flight 82, leaving for St. Louis!"
Lily often seems overshadowed by so many humorists- men and women, when she should be among the greats in the public mind. Also, have to say, her partner Jane is another comedy genius-- for creating such unique characters and writing brilliant stuff. It's so great seeing this video, just one of her many personas (and interacting with herself, LOL).
I LOVE THIS CHARACTER! Bobibi- Jeanine makes the best of who and where she is. I love when she introduces herself, she plays, "A Pretty Girl is like a Melody". And her advice, "Don't be sharp ( B#) * . Don't Be flat( Bb). Be natural(B). * B# is C. Thank you Lily Tomlin, and thank you talley mulligan for this terrific post.
This from a 1981 tv special called Lily:Sold Out in which she spooked taking her act (The 7 Stages Of Woman) to Vegas. The "friend" she talks about is herself being nervous about her Vegas opening. The whole thing is brilliant!
