I remember in the following years after these bombings, there were anniversary marches annually, and the Special Branch detectives would take Photo's and Harass the families and Marchers on the Streets.
They knew all this information, but instead tried to intimidate the crowd.
Absolutely Shameful, and Traitorous.
What do you mean? Did mi5 harrass the victims?
Could listen to David all day, seems like he’d be a great man to sit in a pub with. I have Spycatcher sitting on a shelf and this is a reason to get stuck into it.
I'm just fascinated by his white skin and hair
David knows his facts, superb work & research, the British state is well known for its sleekit manipulation of conflicts they involve the British people in. As a Scottish nationalist though not an SNP supporter, it is obvious they have infiltrated a once excellent party for Scottish independence. The collective British people would never have condoned these despicable attacks on a people who have contributed to building Britain in a massive way. In my younger days it was Irish skills & labour that built construction projects from start to finish, great skills & very hard working. These blokes in my experience on building sites in London would have shared their last piece of bread with a stranger. I say this because it was Irishmen on a site in 1989 could see that my brother Stuart was skint & not eating at lunch & put a big plate of food in front of Stuart. Well bless them, Stuart often mentions it & these Irishmen knew oor Stu was a Rangers fan. Legends. ♥
Hi John. Regular listener to the Pod. I know you often look for recommendations of guests - My Grandfather is the author of Firefighters of Belfast and was a significant figure in the fire service during the troubles. His name is Brian Allaway. Also, my uncle from my other side of the family was a brigadier for the UDA in the early 90s before the break out of the loyalist feud where he was a prominent figure. Both are still alive.
Thanks a million mate!! Both sound fascinating, would love to speak with them if they'd be interested.. send us an email there please thegoodlistenerpodcast@gmail.com
@@thegoodlistenerpodcast Did either of these end up on the show?
Was hoping we'd hear from this fella again, really interesting to listen to!
And read!
@@ATLmodK ah its yourself!
Hope ATL's videos are back up soon , f@ck the BBC!
Very interesting new insight into Robert Nairac with regards to his knowledge of Jackson and members of the UVF. But curiously, information as regards Julian Ball and Captain Nightingale remains very sketchy. And at this juncture it seems its going to remain so 🚗🛡
Thanks for the enlightening analysis of
a horrible time in our history.
It was rough back then but it could've
been even worse with there being so many psychopaths
prepared to sacrifice innocent people.
I read his book Kitson’s Irish War. It was fantastic! Clearly documented at every level. Highly recommend! (Heard about it on this podcast).
We definitely learned about the Dublin Monaghan bombings in secondary school... I even remember what the half page about it looked like.
We did really skim over the troubles as a whole though
There’s so much we still don’t know. There was a 2003 inquiry which the British government refused to release files to.
Very interesting , thankyou for bringing all this to light , may it never be repeated , all the best to all
According to Joe Tiernan Hanna accompanied Jackson across the border in his chicken lorry which contained the three bombs. Once in the parking lot he oversaw the transfer of the bombs to the designated cars then armed them. The two men didnt linger instead they drove immediately back to Lurgan.
Great video! My dad was caught up in the Parnell Street bomb he was only 14 at the time.
Glad these innocent people are finally being remembered at last. Long past time
Great interview. David really knows his subject matter in depth. Do check his ebook folks - link in the description - an absolute goldmine of information about the bombings.
Is there any way to contact mr David Burke to find out anything else he knows about “Albert ginger baker” ? Has he a book out or anything online we’re to read about him .???
There’s a good bit about Baker in David’s Kitson book.. email me there thegoodlistenerpodcast@gmail.com
Who is the balloon
John, who was the spoofer out of the three men interviewed in the paronrama doc? I know they weren't named, but by looks who is supposedly this person?

Who was it?
This is nothing more than an Irish Republican fantasy...still Irish Republicans have a fantastic track record of not letting the truth get in the way of a good fantasy
Your surname is literally McManus.
Great insight David and truly filled in some gaps that I hadn't totally grasped into the execution of these horrific sectarian bombings. Very educated and comes across rally well. Thank you so much. Maybe someday all the truth will come out not just for the families but us all. Mary Queen of the Gael pray for them 🙏.
People in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones, Dublin was balls deep in destroying Northern Ireland. Remember bloody Friday. R.I.P Stephen Parker who was utterly blown to pieces on the Cavehiil road.
Yes one side was fighting to maintain foreign sectarian rule by targeting civilians and the other side was fighting for freedom targeting the security forces and British military and anyone supporting their continued oppression of the Irish people
What? The Provies did 'Bloody Friday', not the Dublin Govt. If you're referring to the 'Arms Trial', Haughey, Blaney and the like, outside of supplying £100,000 to the Northern Defence Committees, some of which found its way into the coffers of both the Sticks and Provisionals, Leinster House gave Republicans nothing, outside of jail sentences and headaches, and any actual Republicans were anxious to see Dublin overthrown as soon as the British had been gotten rid of.
@@gerrydoherty6930 a 14 year old paper boy was the security forces?!!
Typical ignorant “whatabouterry”.
@antoindearg5614 the South also used internment at various times post the establishment of the free state. The Dublin government has never been a friend of the IRA. And especially not the Catholic Church , who ruled with an iron fist in society. I lived through it. To suggest otherwise is just being pig ignorant.
Blue coat school Dublin..
By any chance are you in Ballymena at the people's park I swear this dudes Ur double if not you lol
Conspiracy theories are interesting but you need evidence.
that's hardly conformation
Get im off
What's your problem with him?
