God Knows All about Me

- The first six verses of Psalm 139 convey the staggering truth that the Lord knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows what we do, where we go, what we think, what we say, all that we long for, and all that we need. Alistair Begg reminds us that there’s no safer place to put our trust than in Almighty God, who doesn’t love from a distance but searches us and knows us, sending His Son to lay down His life for us in order that we may also know Him.

We have been using this Psalm in my Anatomy Physiology class!

Our God is so awesome!!! I’m desperately trying to walk according to His Spirit and be fulfilled by being obedient to His word, thus letting mercy live on. Faith, hope and love are all great, however half brother James has stated “mercy triumphs over judgment!” I’m terrified of judging others; for in the way you judge, so shall I judge you (?) I mean I have humbling back (ankylosing spondylitis) pain and tingling peripheral neuropathy and on and on! It’s very difficult living, by abiding in Me and I in you for apart from me you can do nothing. Help me dear Lord Jesus Christ and help us all to not trip over what you’ve established for us to do, say and then live out these days with victory because of your work on the cross. My lovely wife and best friend believes that this kind of thinking is foolishness. One night several months ago I knelt down before her and told her the story of Ruth and husband Boaz. I exclaimed you’re like Ruth, and at the end of our little chat . . . Pattie expressed concern and said that the person you’re looking for doesn’t exist. What a perplexing situation to be in. I’m not sure how to handle this but I am not going to give up.

This portion of scripture made me think of my childhood when this became one of my favorite Psalms, which had a tremendous impact of light to my young soul. Such knowledge IS too wonderful to fully comprehend with a finite mind. Thinking of back then it brought to mind. 2 Timothy 3:15. If only I had applied what I knew sooner in life... Prayers for my fruitfulness will result in glorified hugs in eternity.

This is why God alone is qualified to judge. Not only is He pure of wrongdoing, but he already knows the factual truth about everything. No evidence is unknown to Him.

When he was reading Psalms 139 he changed the word hell to shell, verse 8 ....the verse is: If I ascend up to heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

Ben, I used to feel that way too. I have found that by continuing to talk to Him through the hardships, giving my pain to Him and waiting on Him, trusting that He sees my struggle and does care...that He really IS always with us, even during the darkest times. Pray a lot and hold onto hope. Read His word, listen for Him. It will pass and the darkness will lift.

In my experience, it has been in the hardest times that I really tuned into God's word and prayed my pain to Him. You will gain a peace this world cannot provide when you meet with Him in the silence. All His promises have been fulfilled so far, and we can count on an Eternity that far exceeds these current days. The culture tells so many lies. I hope you find comfort as you grow in the truth of Christ and His words to us.

I too have written about it's appearance on so many sermons.
It's incredible but probably not surprising the depth that scammers will sink to.
This person puts this post all over the place and even on this site had it on under her other name Tiff Miller sometimes Mousey Miller. Its an absolute disgrace on a Christian site. I have already spoken online to her. She promotes a paypal donation to her .When you address is sometimes she then wipes out the conversation. Its the same as the posts saying God made me thousands of dollars and a false conversation starts on who canhelp with investments. Its a scam. We musy be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Call out these people. They have no place on a post like this
