- In this 2015 sit-down, Tha Dogg Pound's Daz detailed his career as a producer and rapper on Death Row Records. Daz broke down his feud with Suge Knight and revealed he had unreleased records with Biggie Smalls. He also blamed Michel'le for Death Row's downfall and explained how he and Kurupt moved past their own beef. Daz recalled his role in helping Dr. Dre create "The Chronic" and admitted that Suge's "Chronic 2000" release was his way of getting at Dre. After all the revisionism and nostalgia about this stage of hip hop most of the guys from these times eventually can look back on it and be humble and give a new perspective and a more grown side. Daz seems immature and insecure and he overcompensates by bein too cool for school and "not givin a fuck" it seems like deep down he's probably just kind of a shitty person. What would you expect from someone who started his music career by stealing equipment from the 1st place that let him perform. Got his rep by talkin shit about his own icon Eazy.
Regardless of all that, he should give fans somethin here. Have some excitement. We're talkin about YOUR career that made YOU a millionaire, if you dont give a fuck enough to say it instead mumble it, why tf should anyone else care about it? You can drop the super g image and just be real. "Yeah snoop was on death row." Yeah, no shit. Tell us how it happened. Tell us how YOU got signed to death row and your advance. Why'd they advance a no name 16 yr old? Its like he got somethin to hide. (Maybe his origin story. Reggie Wright, death row head of security is on record that daz is from new orleans, yet daz caims he was born in cali.)
I loved the dogg pound, and for a long time daz was my favorite rapper in the game period. They say never meet your heroes, and that definitely applies to them. Thought they were the dopest of the dope, but time shows the truth. You see kurupt is strung out scrawny shem head and daz is a low energy sheister. Its no wonder they never did much after dogg food looking back now. We like to think of daz as some musical genius prodigy from all his experience so young in the studio, but any time you hear him talk about production or actually making music, you see he was just an overhyped dj who happened to be in the room for some really legendary tracks. If he really produced doggystyle like he says, why has he never made any other tracks even remotely like those without dre in the room?
He has always given mumbling half assed interviews over the years where he promotes projects that never come to be and doesnt give his fans much, but I was hopin here with vlad he would recognize and vibe off the 90's westcoast nostalgia thats hittin hard now, and just be real. He's always puttin up this super g front and actin like he's so damn important. (Super G's dont get locked up in their own house for 10 grams of weed after harvey levin snitches on them. Just sayin.) Be real and respect will flow to you. He needs to be real about the actual role he played and stop bein so high and mighty. One platinum album by association, then a lot of independent releases, with a few dope exceptions most of them were low budget trash nobody ever heard. ( he was still trying to sell physical CD's in the 2020's) When its all said and done he has no reason to be so stuck up. Looking back at actual rap history, he was really just a footnote or an afterthought. Only reason he is remotely relevant is because snoop has done such a great job of staying relevant and every now and then somebody thinks "remember snoop's cousin daz?"
And as a dogg pound fan from the very start, I can tell you NO ONE wants to see a damn dogg pound movie. A group that had one platinum album and then just disappeared from mainstream music isnt influential or important enough to make a movie about. Not even for netflix. The fact he thinks he is anywhere near the level of NWA in terms of influence and legacy is a joke. People that watched the nwa movie dont want a sequel that focuses on the doggpound.
Just drop the fake ego and be humble. Dude obviously thinks WAY too much of himself.

Dogg pound is my fav group of all time outside of NWA. They influenced me big time. But I gotta keep it 💯 This movie ain't coming out or being made. I highly doubt it. After Eazy died it wasn't Dogg Pound next. It doesn't make sense. There's no way to make the movie about Dogg pound after Eazy because they was not affiliated with Eazy. In fact the Dogg pound and Death Row was going at it with Eazy and his camp before he died. After Eazy died the only story or movie that can be made is about BONE Thugs in Harmony. Now if they wanna pick up the story after Dr. DRE left NWA and found Snoop then brought in Dogg Pound that makes more sense.
