And guess what, all my friends prefer a different brand when listening to music.. no one hears the exactly same sound from Any headphones. it's subjective.. what sounds good to you, might sound crap to me...
I disagree. An expert like this cuts through the noise of misleading marketing information and comparisons that make an option seem technically superior, but make no difference to the end user.
I needed a cheap OE headphones for travelling and bought a Soundcore Anker Q35, which is foldable and comes with a case. After reducing the overwelming bass in the 8-band equalizer, this sounds marvellous taking the reduced price of below 100€ into consideration. ANC is acceptable although not top notch. Highly recommended!
I think reviewers are swayed by price tags, once they know the headphones cost 4 or 5 hundred plus dollars they will automatically get a high score. Do a blind test and I'll bet your results are much different.
Sound and precision it is Bathys, but then they are costlier and bulkier! From the rest I went with Sennheiser M4 Wireless (as an upgrade to my PXC 550-II) - primarily sound quality and stage is good and I like their signature. Q45 is for budget and really good sound.

@@andjelarakic1608 Heya! I just finished returning mine because I was having constant connectivity issues and the battery life was horrid when compared with the listed 60 hours. I listen to similar music to you and it didn't sound necessarily bad, but it's definitely not impressive. Sounded about the same as my older WH-1000XM3 from Sony, but just overall flatter even when EQ-ed (the software didn't have much room to tune them). Instrument separation was good but the highs of brass instruments didn't come through very well and I thought the bass was really poorly tuned, either came through too much or way too little. Their open-back headphones are great but Sennheiser has dropped off a cliff when it comes to new closed-back offerings in my opinion and they should probably just stick to rereleasing their headphones on Massdrop LOL, I'll be going with the WH-1000XM5's personally since my XM3's were so so reliable and sounded just fine for having their insane top-tier ANC.
Master & Dynamic MW75 allows passive wired listening. No need to turn the headphones on to listen. Only downside is the buttons for play/pause, vol up and down , ANC buttons won't work when the headphones are not turned on. But this is one underrated feature
I agree. Companies are now focused on making expensive disposable products. It is refreshing to see models that are designed for long-term use. You should check out the V-Moda Crossfade 3 Wireless: hi-res certified passive playback, more portable than the MW75, great build and design, and much cheaper.

The average salery in the main city of my country is about 800$ and I live in a small town. I like the Sennheiser Momentum 4 too so I don't know which one to choose. I really like Bathys but I don't know whether I should buy them. I really don't have anything else I would like to buy and I don't waste money unless it's necessarily, like ever, and this is the first time I liked something of a higher price so I'm struggling.😬

earbuds are nice in certain situations like at work when one earbud is appropriate, but they are not the most comfortable, OE headphones always have better sound quality, and earbuds always hurt my ears after some time, OE headphones are always so much more comfortable, they sound great and they don't give me headaches. Thank you for the good list!
If you work in a high noise environment, noise canceling earphones are a godsend. We're talking grinding, metal cutting, etc. Not having quite audiophile sound is worth it.

I beg to disagree with you on your last comments. I own a Samsung galaxy S22 ultra and it supports LDAC. You have to manually activate it in the bluetooth settings on your galaxy smartphone.
Really depends on your head shape. I had to get rid of them because no matter how much I adjusted them the headband was far too small and put pressure on such a specific point on my head. Phenomenal headphones otherwise so if they fit you well they’re perfect

I have the Anker Q45 sound is Okay and connectivity works great with my Apple and PC and AVR products. Thats my main concern. Is Support that it will work with all my Audio devices. And Noise cancellation is good too, Good comfort, Soft pads that mold you ears, Battery life is good and bluetooth range is about 30ft in my house with wood and drywall walls. Works great with my iPad, iPhone and AppleTV. Onkyo AVR too. What would you suggest could be Step up in Audio quality insuring Good support with all my Audio products and Streamers ?
On my 2nd pair of B&W PX7, twice one of the speakers was blown, do I bother buying the 2nd generation of these? Quality is obviously a problem but I'm wondering if they corrected the problem.

Yes, if you want noise cancelation. I have an indoor shop and would be deaf by now without noise canceling headphones. Sure, I could just use ear plugs, but I like to listen to podcasts and music while working.
I’m still amazed at the sound quality from my AirPods Max. I actually prefer it to everything on the market due to the combination of features. Top three in sound quality and noise canceling. Still number one in transparency.
Hey there David, Fantastic round up as usual. I just went and listened to the Bathys in a store, and wow, they sound real good. I also have the Momentum 4 which I think are incredible. Additionally I have been testing the Bang and Olufsen H95. I was a little surprised that they didn't make your list. They sound better than the Bowers and Wilkins to my ears. I would love to know what you think, as I have yet to see a review of them from you. I know you can't get to everything, but these were a unique pair marking 95 years of Bang and Olufsen and putting all their technology in one headphone. A Joy to behold. Great video, as usual. Love to get your thoughts.
I own the B&W PX7 first gen and B&O H95. Didn't get either for full price. I think the H95 is better in every way, which is to be expected given the steep price. But I don't use either option too often as I find when at home, I use speakers. Otherwise, I use earbuds like the B&O EX or Galaxy Buds Pro when out and about, at the gym, or on a work call. I find over ear headphones see less and less use from me.

I am 62, retired sound engineer, i just giggle when people waste their money on this Crap.. My mates Granddaughter has the Latest, Apple Crap Headphones.. I put a Pair of 20 Year old AKG Studio Headphones on her, and she went Oh Crap.. Didn't realise how Deep the Bass was in the Music She was Listen too.. without stupid fake eq filters..
Lol. Earbuds can never replace headphones. They just lack the openness of headphones and can't do bass as naturally. Oh, also most aren't as comfortable as comfortable headies. The Sennheiser is my main headphone, soundcore L3P is my main earbuds (soon to be replaced by bud2Pro), the only reason I use the soundcore is when I'm too handsome to cover my head with headphones and have them interfere with my beauty, and when I want more noise cancelling, earbuds cancel more noise then headphones.

I have XM4 and I didn’t know they made XM5 but that’s on my mistake should’ve waited but I had no choice at the time. My sister loves it to even take it from me lol but I have my trusty old 40$ Sony head phones but the search continues but the most expensive one 800$ Focal Bathys sounds like a rich music maker would own.
the focal ba tees have usb dac mode, I have the z fold 4 and ldac can be enabled on the sony app, I have the sony wf-1000xm4 earbuds and have ldac enabled
The PX8 are just not worth the money. They sound muffled and the mids are really missing. I got the McLaren Edition, the expectations were great, the disappointment much greater. They are not a keeper.

I know JBL may have similar one around the same price. But I stick to Soundcore. Good quality at an affordable price. Stay away from those cheap Sennheiser 450BT. Poor build quality.

The left ear on my PX7 stopped working yesterday 😢, lasted a year and not through heavy use either

B&O 95's are by far better than all mentioned.
Problem with these is that the batteries deplete over time and a certain amount of charges. Not a good idea to "invest" in an expensive set.

That alone can be a deal breaker for many people.

@@__Alien___ Soundcore Anker Life 2 Neo. Currently $44.88 at Walmart. They are good quality over-the-ear headphones. I got them in the early days of the pandemic. I know JBL may have similar one around the same price. But I stick to Soundcore. Good quality at an affordable price. Stay away from those cheap Sennheiser 450BT. Poor build quality.
