I am sitting here with tears rolling down my cheeks. My God what a beautiful song. It touches my heart and soul and brings back 71 years of memories. Thank you Brett for this gift of notes and lyrics that portrays the magic of life between two people and their love of life and eachother.

I agree. I listen to music 8-10 hours a day on headphones / buds and have for 40 plus years. By now, I consider myself a gunsmith. This song is a masterpiece. It stays with you long after you listen to it. It also connects you with a time and place of value..
Most of my friends dont like country music, and even if they do they haven't moved beyond the mainstream artists like Shelton.
But I have never tried introducing Brett's music to them. The feeling that I experience when Brett's voice slowly erases the constant silence of my one bedroom apartment, is a feeling I want to share with no one. I dont play his songs at parties, or when I am over at a friend's place. I only play it when I am alone with nothing but my thoughts and emotions. Despite the fact that he is popular or his songs get millions of views, he has remained my secret in my world. And I dont want to change that.

My Mom passed on New Years Eve 2019 while I was at work. My little brother passed on February 12 at work of this year just 13 months later. He bought her home and didn't even get to make his first mortgage payment. This song reminds me of our childhood. Going for rides in the car to Lake Erie with our boat to learn to water ski. Good times.

Gosh, this is a good song. I love being with my Mom and Dad and family every sunday, as we drive home from Church.
Dad drives us by lake Michigan, and when we travel to church in Indiana, there's the most beautiful country to watch out the window. Of course, as this song so aptly reminds me, I won't always get to have it this way... I'm only 16 now, but in two years I'll be graduating, and leaving my Family of 9 for I still don't know what. Whenever Mom plays her music playlist for us, I always think "this is what growing up sounds like", because I have listened to them ever since I was really little, and I know my older, graduated siblings did too. I get nervous about everything changing, and not being what it used to be like, but I guess the best I can do for now is to be quiet and not mind John kicking the back of my seat while I'm trying to hear the music, because soon the drive will be over and we'll all be old and maybe have Kids of our own. I really hope that day comes slowly, but I know that even if it doesn't, I'll always be able to look at the time Mommy and Dad spent driving us home with love.

You're wise beyond your years! It sounds like you already are, but enjoy this time at home with family. So many teenagers are so ready to leave home when the time comes, but believe me, as cliché as it sounds - you will miss it eventually. Best of luck in the coming years!
As someone who’s older sister just moved out, and who’s older brother is moving out at the end of summer, and who is 18 and going off to college soon, this comment really got me 🥺 it’s all ending too soon and I just wish we didn’t have to all grow up and move our own ways so soon
Really wise words for someone at the age of 16! You will not miss those moments because you are allready treasure them.. I wish i did.. now my mom is gone and on myself, got lots of friends who I'm making new memory's with! But those memory's driving and listening to music that wasn't even my interest.. are so precious right now, you are a lucky person, and all the ones who are living it conciously! This Takes me back to when my grandparents were alive and we would always go for Sunday Drives to small towns and places we had never been. The flood of great memories made this hard ass shed a few tears. It's time to load up my parents and grand kids and go for that long Sunday Drive.

Great song!!! Growing up went on Sunday drives with our parents. Our favorite memories. We lost our dad 20 years ago at ages 13 15 and 16. My husband and I have started Sunday drives on my weekends off with our kids! They get so excited to see where we end up ☺ hope they look back at them as much as i do now. I went decorating our family graves with my parents they showed me where they all were.and I seen them holding hands and looking at each other .and telling me stories and where they lived and what they done and where they met.this song hits that so true, both my parents past on.and this song could be anyplace in america and anyone that's lost they're parents. It was a really long wait but every single song is worth it. What a special gift from our favorite. He has such a way with lyrics that touch our hearts. I love how you feel what he feels. Got me! Every time.. this was. My life with my parents I lived those road trips. At 50 years young I still do! Took our kids and still with them as young adults in their early 20s❤❤❤2 yrs and I really miss my dad. We took our last road trip on a saturday and he passed 3 weeks later!!

Thank you for this song! I had a difficult time w my step dad growing up. He would always take me for drives on the weekend. We would talk and he would share his love of music w me. Our relationship was a rocky one at times. I lost him in 2011 and it devastated me. It took me a long time to realize just how much those drives meant to me and what he was trying to do. He was just trying to reach me. I miss him so much and now I get to do the same things w my kids to keep his memory alive. Thanks again Brett

I live in Jacksonville, Florida
, the church we go to is 25 minutes from our house and we have to go over bridges and through woods and around hills and beautiful scenery just to get there, so even though sometimes it’s not driving aimlessly there is still beauty and nice talks along the way especially driving through the barren woods by the river and beach
