He hopes that Peach, Luigi, and the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom never find out that deep down he regrets passing on Bowsette. But on the flipside, Nintendo not recognising her as canon has a good thing, and that is that we can still enjoy her on the underground level. At least Nintendo isn't like Capcom, who cancels development of a game while building fan's hopes (remember _Rockman DASH 3_ ).

But on the flipside, Nintendo not recognising her as canon has a good thing, and that is that we can still enjoy her on the underground level.
