    Seven minutes in and we're pinning on the patches. Real star of the show must be those studs!!!!

    Love your channel, and love your work. Just a little heads up, the iron on glue on the patches is just so you can iron your patch in place, and then sew without having to pin. Give it a try. It may help. Also, you can use heat and bond to do the same thing on patches without adhesive.

    Idea: get denim baseball-style caps and dye them to match each vest, and throw a logo patch on the front.

    SEWING AIR!! LOL!! The pain of the learning curve! The things you learn along the way! What a LABOR OF LOVE. That's why this vest looks so spectacular.. the cattle decap patch WOULD be hard lol.. just the patches alone make this metal couture!! But the metal details are just the icing on the cake!! Each step in this process is so labor intensive and a part of the journey of creating your Art!

      Rewatched again, and it seemed (seamed, heh) on 1 or more of your patches that you were sewing on that you sewed on the inside of the patch binding. It appeared so. If that's the case, what is the benefit of that?

    hey! love ur vest!! I noticed that you're using scissors to snip the threads after you finish sewing, so just a heads up, there's actually a built in blade right there underneath the yellow& black sticker! I've seen a few people not know about it, so figured I'd share :)

    You should lay your garments on a metal grate when rinsing this way you can just blast it with a hose till it’s clear ish water…. Just a thought…. Your a bad ass keep it up.

    • @CosmicKristen

      I used to have a metal grate for this but lost it in a move. I might buy some metal shelves like they use in food service for this (because when dying you risk everything bleeding through the back)

    • @CosmicKristen

      I’ve always washed my vests and never had rust issues. I throw mine in the dryer to on a lower heat setting. It annoying because it makes so much noise but it’s never messed up my vests

  • @getzstoned530
    @getzstoned530 Рік тому +1

    Before you sew anything on your vest take like 3 old clapped out band shirts and glue them on the inside with liquid stitch fabric mender or a similar fabric glue that way when you finish sewing and studding the shirts get inadvertently sewn on the inside and your vest will be semi reversible

    • @getzstoned530
      @getzstoned530 Рік тому +1

      You can also use acrylic paint instead of fabric dye after you bleach your vest

    • @CosmicKristen
      @CosmicKristen  Рік тому

      @@getzstoned530 I’ve done some fabric paint on denim before too! Gets a bit hard from the paint but also gives it a waxed denim look which is cool

    • @CosmicKristen

    • @CosmicKristen
      @CosmicKristen  Рік тому +1

      I’ve done this plenty of times and it works well. Just remember the tee material isn’t as heavy duty as patch material so leave extra room to fold the edges over and sew down or use a zig zag stitch to secure it properly. Next time I have a weathered tee to retire I’ll make a tutorial on this
