Brunnya was my first fully invested Grail unit, and admittedly I still use her in Astra season even after Infantry tanks practically became obsolete. Negating penalties is one of my favorite effects in the game, and she definitely deserves an amazing refine.
Thnx a bunch for making a grail unit tierlist. Many of the Fehtubers I watch avoid doing grail unit tierlists. Since It's a lot to go through, units are tougher to rank, powercreep and recently released GHBs can add to the higher tiers quickly.
always liked naesala even before i played his game, im happy he got a good refine and became a insane unit, i gave mine surge sparrow and now im waiting to get a S/D near trace to make him even greater, he can kill basically anyone without it already tho
I've used Ashnard since release and can't wait for the refine! I love tanks units so I built him and he's surprisingly good even now with color disadvantage. Hopefully he gets a guaranteed follow up or anything to make his player phase great cuz he's got potential

Genealogy grail units with refines STAY winning, so much so that I strove to build all of them: - Julius’ Dragon Wall effect makes him a ridiculous tank that walls even the meatiest of hits, even with his dodgy stats he’s still quite a terror when attempting to engage him safely in combat (I run Close Reversal on mine to stack up Def in case of adaptive damage) - Jamke blasts through practically every slow tank in the game with his Dive-Bomb effect and is one of the scariest units you can find in a Catria ball because of his practically unblockable quad attack that guarantees a dead unit - Arden by virtue of being an armor is already amazing, but having a brave weapon and the perfect statline for Near Save pushes him into that elite tier - I think Finn could actually have been bumped a tier higher, he’s a force to be reckoned with because of that dual phase brave weapon he’s got, and his access to Canto along with the addition of Exposure as a status effect really pumps his damage output even higher (RIP Ethlyn 🤕)
The reason Finn didn't rank higher is mostly due to how competitive Lance cavs are in general. There are so many amazing ones outside the grail pool, it can be difficult to justifying building one
@@Oblivionknight That’s fair, especially considering that Duessel and now Jeralt exist (though they don’t compete for Finn’s specific role as a lance cav, they do their own jobs better than Finn can do his sometimes)
Looking at your tier list made me realize how all of my grail projects are atleast A tier and above(Julius, Deen, Jeralt, Muarim, Y!Innes) The only exceptions are Sedgar but that's because he's one of my favorite characters in the FE franchise and Kempf who will be getting a refine soonish. Great video altogether! This really makes me wonder how strong the new refine/prf weapon our grail unit gets in the future (But also please IS give me more options to get Grails, I'm actually thinking of building Limstella and Walhart but Jeralt and Deen needs priority 💀)
@@Oblivionknight Kempf! That's right! I abandoned mine at +4 or so when I was getting diminishing returns from him, but that could change dramatically with a refine.
My favorite grail project has to be Jamke. My expectations were pretty non existent, I just found his refine pretty interesting and liked his design. But damn does he hit hard! He's a beast!
Great list, as always, although I think you made a Mistake on the Marisa build : Her weapon already have Time's Pulse in the refine + Slaying, making it so Vital Astra will always be charged at the start of turn, meaning the C Time's Pulse can be swapped out for a Menace or Spd Smoke 4, idk
Yeah Naesala is just that good, I was surprised that my +10 LNanna couldn't beat a cheap +10 Naesala untransformed with renewal... That's something that doesn't happen very often even if the enemy is blue.
the only thing i disagree here is garon. that guy is thicc. he has effective +10 atk/def/res and guard. he also negates his dragon weakness. with the release of distant counter (D), he could have a better A skill. he could also be a melee specialist. seeing him in a tier alongside the prfless units there feels so wrong
Hm he could even run the new finish skill for more stats, and some healing+damage on the specials. Is also good with dragon wall, but has then still trouble with units with high res units, especially when they double him. Lots of newer strong dragons
although there's no way everyone will be pleased with this tier list, I do think that Veld just slipped under your radar. I use a lot of gimmick tomes, and veld is one of the best, somewhere around riev in how useful he is, especially in ar and arena. the way he breaks ai and setups, invalidates certain bad matchups for carries, and arguably most importantly he makes pot collection baby easy, he's easily as good as riev as a gimmick tome.
Thanks for this list! I returned to FEH after a long time away recently, so my units are outdated on my main account, and I started a backup account to take advantage of the new player summons of popular current units. I'm not the best at builds or unit eval, but I'm glad to see my grail picks were ranked B and up on your list. Really helpful in identifying builds and characters to focus on. I wish Naesala and Muarim weren't both blue beasts... if one of them was a different color I'd feel better about my desire to build them both when I have limited resources, lol.
Well, nice to see that all the grail units I've built have been C to SS, I've built Aversa, Ashnard, Bertram, Black Knight, Xander, Nemesis, Petrine, Sonia, and Kronya. I would like to add that Aversa refine also makes her deceptively bulky, seriously I've seen my Aversa survive things that really should've killed her. Also even though I know she's not great I still want to build New Years Laegjarn just so I can have every version of Laegjarn in the game currently.
The tier list is solid. I haven't tried Naesala yet but I think his refine is crazy. Out of these grail options, the ones who got premium skills from me are Linus(+spd, +10), Aversa(+10), Yen'fay(+spd, +10), Riev(+HP, +3), Jamke(+9), and Young Innes(+spd, ascended atk, +10). I hope Cormag gets a crazy refine so I can finally have a reason to build him because I really like using him in SS.
@@Oblivionknight I hope they will be given good ones. I'm thinking of Wolf Berg levels of crazy. Combat oriented with support capabilities weapon so they can still stick for a little longer even if their offense falls off in the future.
i recently built aversa because even before her refine people kept mentioning how good she was. definitely didn’t regret it; she’s great at support and can defend herself when she needs to. however im very excited to see what IS will give to brunnya for her refine. hopefully they give her a tempo and damage reduction effect since everyone gave her nfu. innes is amazing on ar d and continues to shred everyone. and whenever i get the fodder to build walhart im definitely gonna start him because he seems amazing and i regret not getting his forma.
Its always nice to see units go from zero-to-hero. But even then, dedication is needed lol. Currently sitting on a max Dragonflower +10 ATK/RES Floret Canas. I bring him to every AR season in AR-0. I straight up don't even need a far-save tank with him around when I can literally just have him go forward and soak up Magic attacks with 70+Res. I actually just give him a healing special to help keep him alive since he really just one-shots a majority of magic foes that go up against him. Only actual time he struggles is if the enemy team has an archer or dagger unit with Bridal Catria. But in those cases I usually find workarounds. Plus its amusing having him literally not give much of a damn towards F.Rhea/Dragonwall/Julius/Medeas Res-check damage reduction lol.
Grails are definitely passion projects. I think that's why people tend to get so attached to them compared to other units. I've seen some scary Canadian before. Definitely not a unit to underestimate
My marisa has been a mainstay in most of my teams for just about as long as she’s been out, her refine just made her even more worth all the inheritance I’ve given her.
I'm hoping Petrine gets unconditional adaptive damage. Other than that, maybe canto or null followup. Grail units usually get good refines so I'm hopeful
My favourite grail unit for a few months now is Aversa. She has been mainly benched for a couple of years, I guess she was my first grail unit I +10? I prepared her for her refine, with Duel 4, A/R Far Trace and A/R Rein and although I wasn't impressed with her refine at first sight, she works well. She is in my Arena Core, tanking and killing with ease all widespread green mages (eg. Ninja Corrin, Male Byleth) and protecting my Brave Hector from them. Her panic effect and debufs are invaluable in Arena, where enemy units all have Rally+ skills, giving my team even higher advantage. Not to mention Guidance in S for additional support. I was considering giving her Brave F!Byleth kit (B and C), but haven't lucky at all with CYL banner.
The FE4 fan in me is happy to see where Arden, Julius, Jamke, Finn, and Hilda ranked... yet is saddened at where Travant and Ethlyn ended up. Plz, IS. I need non-5-star staff refines.
Honestly Kyza is an easy A tier, only thing holding him back is lack of natural dmg reduction. There is very few physical threats that can put a dent on him, and with atk/def bulwark he has pretty good sustain(paired with a healing special) if he were to get dmg reduction that scales of his def like Askr he'd be truly amazing
Glad to see that Canas is in A-tier. He used to be one of the most laughable grail units but thanks to that PRF and a solid refine, he has come so far. Speaking of Canas, I do have a max merge + max dragonflowered Canas. The difference though is that he stacks a lot of Speed. I do have ways to get his RES up at least. My setup for him is PRF with the special refine and Iceberg as special. Atk/Spd Push 4 on his A-slot, Desperation for B-slot, Flexible C-slot but I might consider SPD Smoke 4 since he's stacking a lot of speed and Brazen Atk/Spd 3 for his seal. He's currently on my Arena team with B!Chrom, L!Azura and Bridal Catria. Would consider giving him Lull Spd/Res for his B-slot if I were to remove Desperation.
Fallen Lilith's release was insane not only for her build, but the stupid amount of builds she opens up for so many other units (like Naesala). I need like 10 to finish/optimize so many of my favorites ;(
super happy I picked naessala as a grail unit even if I picked the A. skill incorrectly I swapped it for ss3 when I picked hb4 as the forma skill... he is so strong and with trace he is super useful in LHBs, Innes as well but I think if he ever gets a forma version like mini minerva I might consider upping his game a bit with some newer skills.
Can’t wait for the Legendary Hero Tier list. I think this tier list has solidified me of building Jamke to +10. That desperation effect and guaranteed follow up on his weapon is nuts.
My favorite is Arvis. He's one of my favorite units, I wished he would have ranked higher. I feel like they did him dirty. It could have been worse, I do know that. I've been waiting for a Legendary Gen 2 Emperor Arvis for such a long time
I have used Panne pretty reliably before her refine. My first +10 grail unit. Nothing amazing, but a good reliable option. Since her refine however, she's been incredible, and has casually taken fights I didn't expect to do so easily. Scion Nanna was my second +10 grail. I had plenty of good staffs already, summer duo Hilda most notably similar to Nanna, but being a grail made her easier to merge, and lack of a prf offered all the more reason to experiment with different staffs. She ultimately settled between hatari Xane's staff and her own depending on the map and team. Shoutout to groom Marth, finally giving him an alt even if its just mediocre. Geralt I can see myself using every so often. Masked "Marth", while nothing too special nowadays, still a reasonably good option with some investment if you don't have base Lucina. And Black Knight, simply being Zelgius without warp powder since grails and trait fruit came into being.
@@Oblivionknight Because beast and dragon units are very meta and it kills like almost half her weapon against them. I almost +10'ed her and then remembered that. Walhart on the other hand IS A GOD. He murders everything and makes every team I put him on better. Jeralt is quite good too! My brother has Naesala and Innes and they are both pretty frickin awesome as well.
Have you invested in young minerva? The kid is a fast bulky wyvern with a personal skill that negates her flier weakness, a slaying + guard prf, and huge stats on both.
@@flamelife6837 unfortunately there aren't many great options so I'd go with a typical wings of mercy build. Then give her some support options in the c and seal slot depending how what you need.
Ashnard was my first grail unit ever, I tried him when he was a forma unit and fell in love with his gameplay. I hope he gets his refine soon though, his weapon is really outdated compared to what we have now.
Not bad of a tierlist honestly! I found myself agreeing for the most part, except I think i'd personally would put Rutger between SS-SSS Tier as of now. Compared to Yen'Fay I feel he has vastly more Pros then Cons then him. With his PRF giving him Regular DR, +10 Atk/Spd, Spd Based Dual-Phased Breath AND Slaying. Meanwhile Yen'fay only has DC and +3 spd and must fill a condition to get regular DR which can be rather difficult depending on the map. Yen'fay's only thing he has over Rutger is his Innate DC, which while nice, isn't as prestigious as it used to be. This is not even mentioning that we now have DC variants that give Spd now. So Rutger isn't really getting punished that much if his A slot is occupied by these types of skills. And while Marisa is also good, she's more of a Rutger-lite in my opinion. While she has Time's Pulse, He's got dual phased breath. She gets +5 to atk/spd, He gets +10. However she does have three things that Rutger dosen't have. True damage, Turn 1 VA w/o the C slot, and the ability to have two Time's Pulse. These are more than enough to make her rather unique compared to him, but outside these niches Rutger has more to offer.
I made a michalis build that gives him an effective plus 21 atk and def during combat to make him into a walking ignis nuke/damage check for most characters (S!Edelgard, F!edelgard and Arden being some of the very few exceptions that can kill him easily) He may not be the best, but his voice acting is great IMO and I really like his design

@@WittyPractitioner He fair decently against most speedsters due to his insane Atk/Def, but allows him to absolutely most shred tanks and the far save protects him from mages, only a handful of speedsters and tanks can tear through him
The only thing about Jeralt that I don't like isn't even something wrong with Jeralt. It has to do with the fact we can only inherit 4 skills. I can get atk/def catch 4, atk smoke 4 and only up to atk/def trace 2.....when will IS let us inherit 5 skills. I don't want to sacrifice two F!Gustav

I came into this video wondering where lloyd would be and yea that sounds about right lol i just made a plus 10 and absolutely decked him out with really good skills and it has been a struggle trying to get him to work
He's not insane but I like Ny! kyza a lot kinda sad beast don't have dragon wall equivalent so I run him with ingnis retaliation set and he's very consistent since full tempo is very rare so there's not much that can stop that and he's able to punch through 40% dr most of the time and now when atk/def finish releases it's gonna improve that a lot healing is gonna be really nice

Honestly very shocked at A tier since units like Ignatz, Limstella, Murium, and SElincia I thought would be S or SS LMAO, but still valid reasons on putting them there. For my favorite grail units, it kinda came in waves. I was a person who saw a new Grail unit, and was like oo finally im going to have a +10 grail unit to merge. I said this for like 7 units in a row and did not in fact merge them LMAO, my first merged grail unit was NYEir. So I had 0 issues with grails since I held onto them for so long and was p high up in AR and such. This past year and a half, especailly from refines for units, I have been building quite a lot and still not dipping below 2.7k for a TT unit that interests me. The big stand out favorites were NYEir Death Knight Valter Somehow, Orson but thats because crazy kit overhaul and reaching like 70 Defense with it with high atk Nemesis Marisa which god I love her refine so much she ATE for having such a weird statline where it was all Spd/HP on release Limstella Jeralt who is in my heart like an SS
Mini Innes and Ninja Shamir have been GREAT as huge parts of my arena core with Ninja Male Corrin, idk which grail unit I wanna build next tho. I remember I had a +10 Ashnard on my old account who kicked ass with a Guard Bearing build, but Jeralt lookin kinda nice and I already have Yen'fay at +1 and Limstella at +3 (as well as 5 star copies of Muarim and Riev thanks to the recent GHB thing)... idk lol

I'm unsure about the last Arden build - is it worth it to put far save on him if he isn't countering range (no DC)? I can see the cowl would proc alongside the DR from deflect magic, but not being able to capitalize on that seems unfortunate
Itsuki was my first merge project and I used him for years, I even gave him Arcane Éljúonir since he STILL hasn't gotten a refine, and probably never will. I have found the m!corrin has a slightly better stat spread and a better weapon but Itsuki is still good

I think she's really good for her age, but she definitely could use a refine. I'm sure she'll be great once she get hers because her base weapon is quite good

Panne is really good :) For Fir and Selena, you'd probably need to get them an arcane sword when you get a chance. Effie, unfortunately, needs to wait for an arcane lance. Her weapon is pretty bad
I am really surprised that You set Lissa that High... I am building her like far save and I just need Slick Fighter. But WoW, I had so many grail projects... Some of them are favs like Keaton or Eir, some of them because meta. I am going to build Arden, Innes, Félix, Julius, Jeralt... I need free to play options for all things

@@Dimigrid I'm not sure... he could use extra stats, and some kind of effect on foes since he likes being menacing and likes fighting strong people. Since he has a speed boon, I don't know if they'll give him guaranteed follow up. They'll need to do something with him that will make him stand out, so I don't really know. Also, when i saw this guy's art when he released into Heroes, that's pretty much when I started seeing three houses, it creeped me out first impression. And his voice was creepy, I want to know how they did that with his voice to mask it. It's kind of cool.
Would Naesala work like a Melee tank? With Spd Smoke 4 and a Far Save unit supporting him I'd think he works pretty good. If not, I'd make Pane like I'm wondering to build him
From the A pool, the only ones I see with some regularity at AR +/-37 and arena 19-21 using two accounts are the following: Felix: relatively common with save skills. Lissa: not-that-common at armor save formations. Petrine: used to be a regular for some bait traps at AR, but not so much anymore. Other than those, I've literally never seen the majority of that pool at any competitive mode. Funny enough, ninja Hana is a not-so-common sight at the arena, same with Brunnya with AR at the first tiers of the VoH From the S rank, Aversa is still an AR icon. Riev -should- be, but I guess he's more useful on the offensive, so people would use him that way instead of leaving him on defense. Jerald will probably become a common sight on the next months. Panne is a rare sight on arena. I think I haven't seen her at AR in years. Eldigan is a very common sight at AR. Ashnard is somewhat common at arena and a little less common at AR. Yen'Fay is probably less common than he should be, I think he's good. I really think I haven't seen a Marisa in years (I've been playing from the launch of the game) and I've probably never seen a Rutger at any competitive mode. From the SS tier, the black knight is a common sight on arena around tier 18. Julius is a much more rare, but still around at arena and even more rare at AR. Walhart is a rare sight in both modes, but he's around. Jamke... I think I've seen him a couple of times after his refine was released, but not anymore. I kind of fully agree with the 3 at SSS rank, Naesala is awesome when controlled by the player, Arden is great on defensive formations and Innes is great both piloted by the player or the AI. Just my two cents, cheers!
I joined a discord about 2 weeks ago trying to take feh a little more seriously. They told me to wait for the new gen grail units. Do you think naesala is gonna fall off anytime soon seems like fun
While the res stacking Julius build is a good one, I'd say speed stacking on him aint a bad idea either. I have been running a +10 speed Julius ever since his refine and I can attest on how good he is. His innate atk debuffs really makes him tanky near to the point of being obnoxious, and his res debuffs will make sure he will pack a punch. He can check most ranged threats that are not res heavy (e.g Bride Lilina, Gunievere), heck guy can even eat Duo Chrom alive if you can stop his pre charged Deadeye.
Nice tier list. All have the SSS units +10 and they're great. The only thing I dissagre is Yen'fay S tier. I have +10 Yen'fay with premium skill and he underperforme a lot. He could be in A tier and would be ok. All the feh community overhyped him.
Found a huge error. Norne is a tier above hana despite basically having the same statline. After comparing its not even close to a tier difference. Same goes with Shamir and hana. Sure they have more bst for scoring but you're not staying in tier 21 with these units let alone maintaining 20.5 in the next year. And again ashnard is too high as axe fliers like haar can use a rein build for support with rein axe or even play mixed with the followup axe as can ashnard. This doesn't mean ashnard is 3 tiers above just cuz he tanks archers?
@@Oblivionknight but lance and sword have a followup weapon now, seahorse axe and Coral blade enable for followup both phases, this tied with their good speed is like a 50% nfu, this enables them to run so much more flexible builds while norne is stuck mostly enemy phasing due to running DC builds
I +10 aversa before her refine now she a monster with atk res solo 7 and atk res menace and oh boy even melee units can't kill her ez. And glacier just kills

Right there with you. A guaranteed follow up is the biggest thing he needs
Slaps in distant stance and grants atk/def solo 4 and guaranteed follow up if unit is not adjacent to allies.
Seeing E!Loki in C tier literly made my day. She was my first grail +10 and still one of my favorites.

- Jamke blasts through practically every slow tank in the game with his Dive-Bomb effect and is one of the scariest units you can find in a Catria ball because of his practically unblockable quad attack that guarantees a dead unit
- Arden by virtue of being an armor is already amazing, but having a brave weapon and the perfect statline for Near Save pushes him into that elite tier
- I think Finn could actually have been bumped a tier higher, he’s a force to be reckoned with because of that dual phase brave weapon he’s got, and his access to Canto along with the addition of Exposure as a status effect really pumps his damage output even higher

The reason Finn didn't rank higher is mostly due to how competitive Lance cavs are in general. There are so many amazing ones outside the grail pool, it can be difficult to justifying building one

Looking at your tier list made me realize how all of my grail projects are atleast A tier and above(Julius, Deen, Jeralt, Muarim, Y!Innes)
The only exceptions are Sedgar but that's because he's one of my favorite characters in the FE franchise and Kempf who will be getting a refine soonish.

My favorite grail project has to be Jamke. My expectations were pretty non existent, I just found his refine pretty interesting and liked his design. But damn does he hit hard! He's a beast!
Great list, as always, although I think you made a Mistake on the Marisa build : Her weapon already have Time's Pulse in the refine + Slaying, making it so Vital Astra will always be charged at the start of turn, meaning the C Time's Pulse can be swapped out for a Menace or Spd Smoke 4, idk

Yeah Naesala is just that good, I was surprised that my +10 LNanna couldn't beat a cheap +10 Naesala untransformed with renewal... That's something that doesn't happen very often even if the enemy is blue.
He's easily one of the best f2p units available in the entire game.
the only thing i disagree here is garon. that guy is thicc. he has effective +10 atk/def/res and guard. he also negates his dragon weakness. with the release of distant counter (D), he could have a better A skill. he could also be a melee specialist. seeing him in a tier alongside the prfless units there feels so wrong
I know one hard-core Garon fan who would be mad too lol. Personally I've never found him difficult to deal with even at max investment
Hm he could even run the new finish skill for more stats, and some healing+damage on the specials. Is also good with dragon wall, but has then still trouble with units with high res units, especially when they double him. Lots of newer strong dragons
although there's no way everyone will be pleased with this tier list, I do think that Veld just slipped under your radar. I use a lot of gimmick tomes, and veld is one of the best, somewhere around riev in how useful he is, especially in ar and arena. the way he breaks ai and setups, invalidates certain bad matchups for carries, and arguably most importantly he makes pot collection baby easy, he's easily as good as riev as a gimmick tome.
But all without merges, no?

Thanks for this list! I returned to FEH after a long time away recently, so my units are outdated on my main account, and I started a backup account to take advantage of the new player summons of popular current units. I'm not the best at builds or unit eval, but I'm glad to see my grail picks were ranked B and up on your list. Really helpful in identifying builds and characters to focus on. I wish Naesala and Muarim weren't both blue beasts... if one of them was a different color I'd feel better about my desire to build them both when I have limited resources, lol.

Well, nice to see that all the grail units I've built have been C to SS, I've built Aversa, Ashnard, Bertram, Black Knight, Xander, Nemesis, Petrine, Sonia, and Kronya. I would like to add that Aversa refine also makes her deceptively bulky, seriously I've seen my Aversa survive things that really should've killed her.
Also even though I know she's not great I still want to build New Years Laegjarn just so I can have every version of Laegjarn in the game currently.

The tier list is solid. I haven't tried Naesala yet but I think his refine is crazy. Out of these grail options, the ones who got premium skills from me are Linus(+spd, +10), Aversa(+10), Yen'fay(+spd, +10), Riev(+HP, +3), Jamke(+9), and Young Innes(+spd, ascended atk, +10). I hope Cormag gets a crazy refine so I can finally have a reason to build him because I really like using him in SS.

i recently built aversa because even before her refine people kept mentioning how good she was. definitely didn’t regret it; she’s great at support and can defend herself when she needs to. however im very excited to see what IS will give to brunnya for her refine. hopefully they give her a tempo and damage reduction effect since everyone gave her nfu. innes is amazing on ar d and continues to shred everyone. and whenever i get the fodder to build walhart im definitely gonna start him because he seems amazing and i regret not getting his forma.

Its always nice to see units go from zero-to-hero. But even then, dedication is needed lol. Currently sitting on a max Dragonflower +10 ATK/RES Floret Canas. I bring him to every AR season in AR-0. I straight up don't even need a far-save tank with him around when I can literally just have him go forward and soak up Magic attacks with 70+Res. I actually just give him a healing special to help keep him alive since he really just one-shots a majority of magic foes that go up against him. Only actual time he struggles is if the enemy team has an archer or dagger unit with Bridal Catria. But in those cases I usually find workarounds.
Plus its amusing having him literally not give much of a damn towards F.Rhea/Dragonwall/Julius/Medeas Res-check damage reduction lol.
Grails are definitely passion projects. I think that's why people tend to get so attached to them compared to other units. I've seen some scary Canadian before. Definitely not a unit to underestimate
My marisa has been a mainstay in most of my teams for just about as long as she’s been out, her refine just made her even more worth all the inheritance I’ve given her.

I'm hoping Petrine gets unconditional adaptive damage. Other than that, maybe canto or null followup. Grail units usually get good refines so I'm hopeful
My favourite grail unit for a few months now is Aversa. She has been mainly benched for a couple of years, I guess she was my first grail unit I +10? I prepared her for her refine, with Duel 4, A/R Far Trace and A/R Rein and although I wasn't impressed with her refine at first sight, she works well. She is in my Arena Core, tanking and killing with ease all widespread green mages (eg. Ninja Corrin, Male Byleth) and protecting my Brave Hector from them. Her panic effect and debufs are invaluable in Arena, where enemy units all have Rally+ skills, giving my team even higher advantage. Not to mention Guidance in S for additional support. I was considering giving her Brave F!Byleth kit (B and C), but haven't lucky at all with CYL banner.
Aversa is such a great unit. I've had her +10'd since it was possible and she always puts in so much work
The FE4 fan in me is happy to see where Arden, Julius, Jamke, Finn, and Hilda ranked... yet is saddened at where Travant and Ethlyn ended up.

Honestly Kyza is an easy A tier, only thing holding him back is lack of natural dmg reduction. There is very few physical threats that can put a dent on him, and with atk/def bulwark he has pretty good sustain(paired with a healing special) if he were to get dmg reduction that scales of his def like Askr he'd be truly amazing

He used to be one of the most laughable grail units but thanks to that PRF and a solid refine, he has come so far. Speaking of Canas, I do have a max merge + max dragonflowered Canas. The difference though is that he stacks a lot of Speed. I do have ways to get his RES up at least.
My setup for him is PRF with the special refine and Iceberg as special. Atk/Spd Push 4 on his A-slot, Desperation for B-slot, Flexible C-slot but I might consider SPD Smoke 4 since he's stacking a lot of speed and Brazen Atk/Spd 3 for his seal. He's currently on my Arena team with B!Chrom, L!Azura and Bridal Catria.
Would consider giving him Lull Spd/Res for his B-slot if I were to remove Desperation.
Narcian was my first investment back in the beginning. Made him pretty solid.
Fallen Lilith's release was insane not only for her build, but the stupid amount of builds she opens up for so many other units (like Naesala). I need like 10 to finish/optimize so many of my favorites ;(

super happy I picked naessala as a grail unit even if I picked the A. skill incorrectly I swapped it for ss3 when I picked hb4 as the forma skill... he is so strong and with trace he is super useful in LHBs, Innes as well but I think if he ever gets a forma version like mini minerva I might consider upping his game a bit with some newer skills.

I have used Panne pretty reliably before her refine. My first +10 grail unit. Nothing amazing, but a good reliable option. Since her refine however, she's been incredible, and has casually taken fights I didn't expect to do so easily.
Scion Nanna was my second +10 grail. I had plenty of good staffs already, summer duo Hilda most notably similar to Nanna, but being a grail made her easier to merge, and lack of a prf offered all the more reason to experiment with different staffs. She ultimately settled between hatari Xane's staff and her own depending on the map and team.
Shoutout to groom Marth, finally giving him an alt even if its just mediocre. Geralt I can see myself using every so often. Masked "Marth", while nothing too special nowadays, still a reasonably good option with some investment if you don't have base Lucina. And Black Knight, simply being Zelgius without warp powder since grails and trait fruit came into being.
Panne got such a great refine. I'm glad grail units have been getting better refines lately

@@Oblivionknight Because beast and dragon units are very meta and it kills like almost half her weapon against them. I almost +10'ed her and then remembered that. Walhart on the other hand IS A GOD. He murders everything and makes every team I put him on better. Jeralt is quite good too! My brother has Naesala and Innes and they are both pretty frickin awesome as well.
Have you invested in young minerva? The kid is a fast bulky wyvern with a personal skill that negates her flier weakness, a slaying + guard prf, and huge stats on both.
Happy that Smolzura isn't super low~ I'm riding on hope that she will get a refine soon because she deserves it~

Ashnard was my first grail unit ever, I tried him when he was a forma unit and fell in love with his gameplay. I hope he gets his refine soon though, his weapon is really outdated compared to what we have now.
Not bad of a tierlist honestly! I found myself agreeing for the most part, except I think i'd personally would put Rutger between SS-SSS Tier as of now.
Compared to Yen'Fay I feel he has vastly more Pros then Cons then him. With his PRF giving him Regular DR, +10 Atk/Spd, Spd Based Dual-Phased Breath AND Slaying. Meanwhile Yen'fay only has DC and +3 spd and must fill a condition to get regular DR which can be rather difficult depending on the map.
Yen'fay's only thing he has over Rutger is his Innate DC, which while nice, isn't as prestigious as it used to be. This is not even mentioning that we now have DC variants that give Spd now. So Rutger isn't really getting punished that much if his A slot is occupied by these types of skills.
And while Marisa is also good, she's more of a Rutger-lite in my opinion. While she has Time's Pulse, He's got dual phased breath. She gets +5 to atk/spd, He gets +10. However she does have three things that Rutger dosen't have. True damage, Turn 1 VA w/o the C slot, and the ability to have two Time's Pulse. These are more than enough to make her rather unique compared to him, but outside these niches Rutger has more to offer.
My problem is that god swords just aren't very meta nowadays. Even so Rutger is definitely the best amongst the grail choices

I made a michalis build that gives him an effective plus 21 atk and def during combat to make him into a walking ignis nuke/damage check for most characters (S!Edelgard, F!edelgard and Arden being some of the very few exceptions that can kill him easily) He may not be the best, but his voice acting is great IMO and I really like his design

@@WittyPractitioner He fair decently against most speedsters due to his insane Atk/Def, but allows him to absolutely most shred tanks and the far save protects him from mages, only a handful of speedsters and tanks can tear through him

The only thing about Jeralt that I don't like isn't even something wrong with Jeralt. It has to do with the fact we can only inherit 4 skills. I can get atk/def catch 4, atk smoke 4 and only up to atk/def trace 2.....when will IS let us inherit 5 skills. I don't want to sacrifice two F!Gustav

I came into this video wondering where lloyd would be and yea that sounds about right lol i just made a plus 10 and absolutely decked him out with really good skills and it has been a struggle trying to get him to work
He's not insane but I like Ny! kyza a lot kinda sad beast don't have dragon wall equivalent so I run him with ingnis retaliation set and he's very consistent since full tempo is very rare so there's not much that can stop that and he's able to punch through 40% dr most of the time and now when atk/def finish releases it's gonna improve that a lot healing is gonna be really nice

Honestly very shocked at A tier since units like Ignatz, Limstella, Murium, and SElincia I thought would be S or SS LMAO, but still valid reasons on putting them there.
For my favorite grail units, it kinda came in waves. I was a person who saw a new Grail unit, and was like oo finally im going to have a +10 grail unit to merge. I said this for like 7 units in a row and did not in fact merge them LMAO, my first merged grail unit was NYEir. So I had 0 issues with grails since I held onto them for so long and was p high up in AR and such. This past year and a half, especailly from refines for units, I have been building quite a lot and still not dipping below 2.7k for a TT unit that interests me.

Somehow, Orson but thats because crazy kit overhaul and reaching like 70 Defense with it with high atk

I remember I had a +10 Ashnard on my old account who kicked ass with a Guard Bearing build, but Jeralt lookin kinda nice and I already have Yen'fay at +1 and Limstella at +3 (as well as 5 star copies of Muarim and Riev thanks to the recent GHB thing)... idk lol

I'm unsure about the last Arden build - is it worth it to put far save on him if he isn't countering range (no DC)? I can see the cowl would proc alongside the DR from deflect magic, but not being able to capitalize on that seems unfortunate

Itsuki was my first merge project and I used him for years, I even gave him Arcane Éljúonir since he STILL hasn't gotten a refine, and probably never will. I have found the m!corrin has a slightly better stat spread and a better weapon but Itsuki is still good

Panne is really good :) For Fir and Selena, you'd probably need to get them an arcane sword when you get a chance. Effie, unfortunately, needs to wait for an arcane lance. Her weapon is pretty bad

@@Dimigrid I'm not sure... he could use extra stats, and some kind of effect on foes since he likes being menacing and likes fighting strong people. Since he has a speed boon, I don't know if they'll give him guaranteed follow up. They'll need to do something with him that will make him stand out, so I don't really know. Also, when i saw this guy's art when he released into Heroes, that's pretty much when I started seeing three houses, it creeped me out first impression. And his voice was creepy, I want to know how they did that with his voice to mask it. It's kind of cool.
Finn is my favorite character in all FE, he was my firs +10 grail unit and I hope he gets an Alt soon

From the A pool, the only ones I see with some regularity at AR +/-37 and arena 19-21 using two accounts are the following:
Felix: relatively common with save skills.
Lissa: not-that-common at armor save formations.
Petrine: used to be a regular for some bait traps at AR, but not so much anymore.
Other than those, I've literally never seen the majority of that pool at any competitive mode. Funny enough, ninja Hana is a not-so-common sight at the arena, same with Brunnya with AR at the first tiers of the VoH
From the S rank, Aversa is still an AR icon. Riev -should- be, but I guess he's more useful on the offensive, so people would use him that way instead of leaving him on defense. Jerald will probably become a common sight on the next months. Panne is a rare sight on arena. I think I haven't seen her at AR in years. Eldigan is a very common sight at AR. Ashnard is somewhat common at arena and a little less common at AR. Yen'Fay is probably less common than he should be, I think he's good. I really think I haven't seen a Marisa in years (I've been playing from the launch of the game) and I've probably never seen a Rutger at any competitive mode.
From the SS tier, the black knight is a common sight on arena around tier 18. Julius is a much more rare, but still around at arena and even more rare at AR. Walhart is a rare sight in both modes, but he's around. Jamke... I think I've seen him a couple of times after his refine was released, but not anymore. I kind of fully agree with the 3 at SSS rank, Naesala is awesome when controlled by the player, Arden is great on defensive formations and Innes is great both piloted by the player or the AI.

While the res stacking Julius build is a good one, I'd say speed stacking on him aint a bad idea either. I have been running a +10 speed Julius ever since his refine and I can attest on how good he is. His innate atk debuffs really makes him tanky near to the point of being obnoxious, and his res debuffs will make sure he will pack a punch. He can check most ranged threats that are not res heavy (e.g Bride Lilina, Gunievere), heck guy can even eat Duo Chrom alive if you can stop his pre charged Deadeye.
Nice tier list. All have the SSS units +10 and they're great. The only thing I dissagre is Yen'fay S tier. I have +10 Yen'fay with premium skill and he underperforme a lot. He could be in A tier and would be ok. All the feh community overhyped him.

There is no exact way to do it, but typically they do 1 ghb/tt per month and usually follow the order they came out so Delthea should be in 2 months

Found a huge error. Norne is a tier above hana despite basically having the same statline. After comparing its not even close to a tier difference.
Same goes with Shamir and hana. Sure they have more bst for scoring but you're not staying in tier 21 with these units let alone maintaining 20.5 in the next year.
And again ashnard is too high as axe fliers like haar can use a rein build for support with rein axe or even play mixed with the followup axe as can ashnard. This doesn't mean ashnard is 3 tiers above just cuz he tanks archers?
Norne is a higher tier, because there is no f2p Lance infantry competition while Axe infantry is flooded with units atm.
@@Oblivionknight but lance and sword have a followup weapon now, seahorse axe and Coral blade enable for followup both phases, this tied with their good speed is like a 50% nfu, this enables them to run so much more flexible builds while norne is stuck mostly enemy phasing due to running DC builds
I +10 aversa before her refine now she a monster with atk res solo 7 and atk res menace and oh boy even melee units can't kill her ez. And glacier just kills
