So refreshing to hear a barber that has a real interest in his customer, I’ve asked for ideas from barbers before now and they look at me like I’m an idiot.
My husband has this exact same hair. Lots of volume and texture and natural waves. He doesn't ever want to style it like this because he thinks it makes him look like a prick. I love it though 😍. I'm cutting his hair for the first time tonight and this is the cut I'm aiming for lol
Bro I swear barbers can just move their hands through your hair and it will look beyond good and then I try going home and doing the same thing and I look like I have a bedhead... like WTF
This baffles me too. Also when they use hair products, they just wave their hand over the bottle and it is enough. I have to take the cap off and pour it to make it work.

I have cut my little boys’ hair for 18 years (I have a 19 year old, a 7 year old, and a 4 year old), but it wasn’t until Covid that my husband was brave enough to let me try cutting his. I’ve been watching tons of videos to work on techniques and your channel is by far the best! This is a great cut and you do such a wonderful job of doing cuts that suit the face, texture, and style of the individual. Thanks for doing these videos and sharing your gift! Me to my barber: This is what I want My barber: Yes my friend, I am from Istanbul, I will give you nice cut! proceeds to ignore everything I said and make me look Turkish.
I had this experience last year I went in and had been growing my hair out for 6 months went for a tidy up and he fully got rid of my fringe the took a shaver right to the side and gave me a buzz cut when I wanted my hair kept long
Yeah - I don't get this Turkish Barber craze in the UK. Yes they can slap a hot towel across your face, tidy up nostril & ear hair(!) but a good haircut? No way!
I love how Dan analyzes the person in every detail, my occipital bone is also very prominent and I always have to ask stylists to be careful with it so it doesn’t show that big hump on the back, and sometimes they still cut too short. And also I love and always ask for versatility to wear my hair in more formal occasions and just casual party like styles. His hair looks great!!!! Well done! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I've been doing DIY haircuts all of quarantine and always noticed a patch at my occipital bone despite cutting the hair evenly around it but with what Dan said it all makes so much sense now!!

What a true master at his craft, pays attention to every detail down to what suits the style of the customer's face to what hairstyle is suitable to his line of work. I had a very bad haircut last week from a Korean Barber who seem to ignore everything I wanted in a haircut and proceeded to tell me that my hair was very difficult to cut. I wish i had a barber like yourself, great work
I really like your imput into choosing a hairstyle. Great to see some actual imput beforhand instead of just asking for a haircut demand and immediately starting
I have had so many bad haircuts by people that can't be bothered, that I and may I add, quite succesfully cut it myself.Watching someone who cares so much about their work and also who is so knowledgeable is so refreshing.Good luck to you Sir you deserve it.
I'm in desperate need of a barber like yourself! I'm located in the US and am picky when it comes to my hair but very few barbers/stylist have ever gotten it the way I know it has the potential to look. Your work is simply TOP NOTCH! Keep up the great work and sharing your vids.
As strange as it may sound, I get pleasure tingles from watching haircut stuff, I find them so relaxing and soothing it's palpable. I used to love having my hair cut and how it felt, the sounds of the scissors the smells, my head being touched (lol)........the cruel irony is that I started shaving my head at 19 due to it thining/disappearing, so maybe it's just find memories. Strangely though I get the sweats when I watch people eat hot food, which I also love. Anyhow great work Sir, love your content.
Wow this guy is so good. I have kinda similar hair to this customer, but the difference is I am yet to find a barber like this. I have asked all the one’s near me for some ideas/experiments/their expert opinion on what would look good with my hair, only to be met with absolutely no feedback, and just “I dunno mate I’ll do whatever u want”. Would love to find a barber like this guy who shows more interest in his clients and is willing to experiment with their hair more, but unfortunately London seems to be totally void of these types of barbers 🤷♂️🤷♂️ Edit: hi mate if u see this, are u based in London cuz if so ima definitely check u out, If normal service u give is anything close to this vid it will be a million times better than what I’ve ever experienced

The first hair style looked like he was outside in a hurricane. I bought a Flowbee haircuting system in 1990 when I moved to Nome Alaska. Thirty one years later and retired in Florida...it's the only way I cut my hair and my 17 year old son's hair. The Flowbee plus shipping was less than $150.00...31 years of great haircuts...I still love my Flowbee!
I learn so much about how Dan factors in recession point, face shape, hair line, scalp exposure, cow lick, whatever that bone is called, etc. There is no one size fits all and I've learned to work around my head and hair's quirks when cutting my own hair- though my results are nowhere near Dan's...

Too often I find they just cut all dudes hair the same even though we all have different looks and hair types that some haircuts just dont work for us. Great job here that was very impressive!
The problem with some barbers is that they just want to make more money faster, they don't ask, they don't care, they just cut as fast as they can. Also, they don't learn more. This man feels passion for what he does. Cutting hair is art! He just did a great haircut!

What are good products for heavy hair?... bcuz i hate using shiny hair products and heavy hold products. And my scalp is too sensitive for some hair products. I just can't style my hair with products...rn i just wear a cap and let the hair settle.
This kid has a fine hair texture like I do, but MUCH higher density and I would kill for that nearly perfectly squared hairline. This cut suits him so well!
I am a barber. I would recommend for what you’re describing for yourself, keep your top longer than most barbers want to take it, at least 3.5” long at the front, if you like a fade, do a LOW fade, even what we call a taper fade or temple fade in the US Midwest. Ask them to use blending shears and normal shears for everything above the tips of your ears. No clippers above there. For fine low density hair clippers up to the parietal ridge is bad if you want your hair to look full all over. Also, if you use product, get a fiber pomade like Reuzel Fiber pomade because it has rayon particles in it that make your hair strand thicker by sticking to it in a certain way. Don’t use super heavy hold stuff because if you put that kind of stuff in your fine hair when it’s too dry it causes shedding because it grips too hard. Fine hair tends to shed easier.
