I would imagine it would be a combination of a certain amount of healthy anxiety, reverence, and joy. Just my thoughts currently on this as I read through Exodus.
I think that many priests would have been very worried about entering the Holy of Holies in case he heard Yahweh say "Israel has sinned" and that was often followed by collective severe punishment.

I have always taken that to refer to the High Priest's heart attitude. That is, he must be a "light" to the world, and he must be "perfect" by God's definition thereof. Each one of the stones represents some kind of spiritual maturity: they are the "lights." For example, the amethyst literally means "not drunk," i..e., "sober" (1st Thessalonians 5:8, 1st Peter 1:13, 5:8, etc.). "Perfections" does not mean "sinless," since that was impossible for everyone but Jesus; but God does expect us to meet a reachable standard (Genesis 17:1, KJV).

Yes, the words do have meanings behind them, and they can have a symbolic deeper meaning, but they are actual stones. With all the research I did (which was quite a bit) to make the clothing, I never came to anything that said the Urim and Thummim were just symbolic. Hope that helps.

I had read the passages many times as well and had the same feeling, just could not understand it. So I looked for others who had created the outfit and so few had to this degree, so I decided I'd do it myself. Quite the project, but learned a lot! And hopefully, it now helps others better understand.

Scourby reading of the KJV will always be my favorite.
His voice is nice but that KJV... Have a hard time taking it serious. I expect John Cleese to show up any second.
And even all of this was not sufficient. This is why Christ gave His life to atone for our iniquities. Only His blood is able to cleanse us from our unrighteousness. This is marvelous to see the words put into picture. After reading the description several times, I gave up trying to visualize what is so vividly shown here. Thank you!
I had read the passages many times as well and had the same feeling, just could not understand it. So I looked for others who had created the outfit and so few had to this degree, so I decided I'd do it myself. Quite the project, but learned a lot! And hopefully, it now helps others better understand.
