How to replace rear door on Ford Focus Electric

The door on the Ford focus electric needed to be replaced because it was damaged in an accident. The rear and front doors of the Ford Focus 3 and Ford Focus Electric are interchangeable by paint color markings. The price of a used car door is less expensive than straightening and painting a damaged door. Procedure for replacing the rear door of a Ford focus electric vehicle:
- Remove the door trim and soundproofing.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the speaker.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the door lock.
- Remove the power window mechanism from its mounting location and disconnect the wiring harness bracket from it.
- Disconnect the wiring harness holders from the door interior panel and disconnect the wiring harness from the door.
- Pry open the rear door wiring harness cover and pull the cover out of the door opening. Pull the door wiring harness together with the pads out of the door opening outward toward the interior.
- Unscrew the door opening limiter mounting screw to the rear body pillar.
- If you are not removing the door to replace it, mark the position of its hinges on the door (for example, trace the hinges on the outline with a marker).
- If the lock does not lock or unlock smoothly, if closing is accompanied by a bump, adjust the latch...
- While holding the door, unscrew the upper and lower hinge door mounting bolts and remove the door.
- Install rear door in reverse order of removal.
