Now all we have to do is to not let Playstation runaway from this one. To this day, the PsVita is a highly underrated handheld. That little thing can still hold its own against even the current gen portables imo.
A PSP that is standalone AND capable to play cloud gaming would be awesome. I can take my ps5 games on the go, with or without wifi and also use local online play at friends house, as a 2nd player without the split screen.

Take the PSP 1000, put a second joystick in it, put an AMOLED screen in it, replace the disc drive with a battery, replace the battery compartment with better put an AMOLED screen in it, remove the disk drive, give it the best processors you can for its size, and give us a truly pocketable portable console. I just recently rebought a PSP 1000, and it is better than I remember. The only thing that I don't like about it is that the screen doesn't get very bright when you're not in a building. If it had an AMOLED screen, used chips instead of discs, and had modern phone processors in it, it would already be better than every other portable on the market. I'm sick of everything being Nintendo switched size and bigger. Make it fit in our fucking pockets.
Dunno man. It might be tough to beat most PC handhelds, most noteworthy, the Steam Deck. Not because of the graphical prowess it has, but because of how easily you can "put games in it". Unless Sony's handheld can have competitive pricing on the games and the handheld itself, I'm guessing this'll be a tough sell.
I don't know who those people really want super heavy with an active cooling system and shitty games quality games console. Sony nailed it, and I hope they keep remote-play consoles In the future. Just picked up a psp 1000. Man nostalgia hit when I booted up Gran Turismo on it
Sony: Makes makes a portable unit that doesn't have physical media. Fails.
Also Sony: ""& |°ŁL Đ○ !Ț @ğÆ|Ņ"'
It was a different time. Nowadays digital media is the standard.
Are you talking about the PSP Go? That's the only thing I can think of that embodies that trait. And in my opinion that device was way ahead of its time.
That’s what we need now. A digital only console that downloads your owned ps4 games and downgrade versions of ps5 games
? steam deck dont have it
rog ally dont have it
ps5 digital dont have it
what the fuck are you smoking. its not the media. ITS LACK OF ANY PROCESSING POWER AKA GLORIFIER CHROMECAST.
I can already play PS2 games on my phone
ROG ally and Legion Go are already in the market.
Finally! Love how they finally make a new PSP after the handheld gaming unit competition is insane. Hopefully they can make it stand out against the ROG ALLY and Steam Deck.
The moment a new psp kind of console drops im bying it in a heartbeat
Please remember we live in a timeline where they don't want to give us products thay we actually want.
Sony acknowledged that the Pandora mod to the original PSP was cool af. It will be a modding community around a new PSP as well, and just emulating Ps2 games might only be "the beninging"
They have to allow micro SD support or I'm not on board.
You know it will. They are the only company that still use 3.5mm jack and micro SD on their smart phones
@@drxpsaucx4157 why would you need a micro SD card on a remote play only device
@@HearMeLearn did we even watch the same video?
Now all we have to do is to not let Playstation runaway from this one. To this day, the PsVita is a highly underrated handheld.
That little thing can still hold its own against even the current gen portables imo.
A PSP that is standalone AND capable to play cloud gaming would be awesome. I can take my ps5 games on the go, with or without wifi and also use local online play at friends house, as a 2nd player without the split screen.
cnt wait too get project q wts the release dt
I wanna see that.
I completely forgot this was even announced 💀
Just played TLOU, Day's Gone and Horizon zero dawn on the Steam Deck.
Alongside Tear Down, Dirt 4 and so many other games. It really is a beast!
No PSP is going to beat that!
All I want is to play my Playstation 2 games on the go because PlayStation 2 is my favorite console of all time. I may not have spent the most time on PlayStation 2 but it is definitely the best console ever made based off the library alone.
It’s just trash
If Sony were to make a new PSP that can play the older PSP disks along with streaming and downloading(Like the 3DS mostly did) I'd be interested,I still play my PSP and like it!
snapdragon 8 gen 3 + new tegra gpu could be an awesome handheld socket that could potentially holds ps4 ported games (ofc with little graphics downgrade) or even some ps5 games. Think about 960x540 resolution on 5,5"-6" screen with dlss. Easily doable.
I think a new PSP that’s basically an all digital PS4 would be cool and it would extend PS4’s life cycle
You need one that does steam games as well as PlayStation software, a cross over of both systems and capabilities would be the ultimate device.
Oh man I sincerely hope so. I miss playing games on my psp.
Still have my original PSP and I still play some legendary games like Kingdom Hearts BBS, WWE Raw v Smackdown, etc.
that would be really cool. I would definitely buy one for myself
I love this Portal. It serves its purpose and works amazingly
No bro it's just lame compared to the Vita and PSP bro stop it you might as well just bought the PS VR2
@@HorsefacedKillah I don't do VR anything. But this works perfect like I said for what I need it for. I play PS5 when I'm at my GFS house and I can play in bed and it's so much better than that garbage Backbone I wasted $40 on
The fact that backbone did all of this before them is crazy
Well as of now that's a good headstart news. We really need a portable version that can be a standalone console with an extra remote streaming function..
Man fuck all that new shit.
Sony: The new psp price is "$900"
Me: "TAKE MY MONEY!"
I don't know who those people really want super heavy with an active cooling system and shitty games quality games console. Sony nailed it, and I hope they keep remote-play consoles In the future. It's a light and very comfortable device with a very cool battery life. Every other handheld is used as a toy and has to be plugged in all the time anyway. Plus price vise, Sony made a good, solid choice.
We don't want a streaming only handheld system. We want a handheld that can stream and download games. More like a modern psvita
Yooooo, a Sony handheld with an Android chip?
Xperia Play: "My death was... Highly exaggerated"
Fr, but the Project Q is out and is a pretty big waste of money
@@ThatIceChampion true, can't imagine anyone but the most hardcore Sony fans getting it.
No joke though, PSP, Vita and even XPlay were emulation powerhouses, Playstation handheld is a lost art
@@TheSynthPunk Vita was beautiful. I don’t have one but I have a PSP and a 3DS, I can just imagine how powerful the Vita was. Like a portable PS3
No way! I'm so excited!😊
I loved the ps vita and wasnt able to get it til a couple years after it came out. I didnt like the expensive propriety memory cards but still loved it nonetheless. But it was terrible it didnt get any game support aside from indies. I work in the oilfield and get lots of downtime actually, but dont often actually get to stream my games from home cause I'm out in the middle of some random field without great or any internet. Id love to get the chance to play my ps games on the go without having to stream
They need to make a powerful PSP with offline features like the old, Bluetooth, WiFi, longer battery life and can play PS4 or PS5 variant without internet.
come on Sony.. we need Upgrade PS Vita 2 or something like Old PSP/PS Vita.. not like remote play.. we need new handheld Console from Sony..
Yes. Comin soon. Soon. True. 🤝🤝🤝.
Pc, Sony and Nintendo is all I need for my gaming experience 🎉
This is pretty cool , like what if ur going on a trip with ur family and u want to play u can play with it
This is likely going to be used as a test bed to see if there is interest in a full fledged handheld. If a lot of people buy it, we might actually get one. My only issue is that everyone feels the need to make their console games portable. I miss dedicated games for handhelds.
The new PSP should be a PS exclusive tablet, housed in a PS exclusive backbone style of controller. A dock can be added for an extra charge. Becoming essentially a PS version of a switch. Optional SIM card functionality may be something to explore as well.
Yes! Lets go!! 🎮👍 Also, PSP was the goat
