Musical Macbeth: Opening

I thought it was an absolute shame that Shakespeare 4 Kidz Musical Macbeth was not on UA-cam so I set out to put it on myself. Hopefully this makes you as happy as it makes me.

Oh...wow. I was part of a production of this back in about 2005. I was only about 9. They made me play McDuff's son, so my only job was to die. Never thought I'd come across this again in a million years.

I was in a production that used this music, but the director was upset to discover that the script simplified the dialogue, so he used Shakespeare's original dialogue. For my performance as the porter, he had me do the song on guitar, and do a small audience participation portion. Something else he did was as an introduction, the actors who played Macbeth and Banquo portrayed two kids playing basketball, and the actress who played Hecate entered in, handing Macbeth a business card. She says "fair is foul and foul is fair," and then she exits. That part made absolutely no sense in the final production, but by the end of the show, no one remembered. It was put in because the director had one of those goofy play around with Shakespeare ideas by having it take place in modern times, and their war and fighting is centered around basketball. By the end, he dropped that idea and had it take place in the medieval times, as Shakespeare intended. However, he left that scene in.

I am doing this at school for my end of year 6 production and it is not going to be as good as this! Great job to the actors!! We watched this in class when we found out we were doing it and we were so shocked at the amount of acts and scenes there were. I don’t have a part but I’m controlling the music and lighting
