I think Yamaha did a hell of a job, but Polaris takes the cake for me because a while ago, I got a free sled to tinker with because I had never worked in a sled and wanted something cheap to take apart and learn from, but the Polaris I got was a 70s 440, and it had 9800 miles on it, and had been setting for over 5 years, and I got it running just by cleaning the fuel pump and putting new fuel hoses on it. It never got rebuilt from the previous owners, and it was still kicking with 9800 miles. And if you don’t know about sleds, you want to do a top end around 2000 miles, and fully rebuild them at 4000 miles. It finally died at 9821 when a piston failed, and I parted it out, but I wish I still had it and regret every day not rebuilding it from the ground up
