I love how smooth the glide is on the Squirrel suit. My biggest disappointments about NSMB Wii (even though I absolutely loved that game) was that I didn't find the Propeller and Penguin suits compelling. The Squirrel suit along with the return of Ice Mario is rather satisfying.
Possibly the best gameplay video I've seen thus far... Baby Yoshi's vocalizations during the music was cute. Looks like an enhanced NSMBWii for the most part.
I love how they kept some of the original sound effects. It's really a testament to Nintendo's heritage that they can continue to evolve these classic franchises.
I love it! The backgrounds and songs are beautiful, looks very fun, new power-up, new enemies, new gimmicks, new co-op mode... I don't see any reason to hate it.
Thank you for not yelling at me and giving me a proper response. Oh and yes I think you are absolutely right now that I think about it. I guess as long as there is a 3D Mario on the system at some point I'll be fine.
Turn on 1080p and watch in fullscreen and it looks fantastic. And this is just from a camera too, imagine playing it. I'll get this for sure, never been good at these 2D Mario games, but heck.
Looks pretty awesome! Never been a good Super Mario player (I fail miserably most of the time and that depresses me) but I've always loved how it looks :3
This is probably the only NSMB that legitimately has me excited. Looks great. Definitely a more refreshing NSMB than the previous. Flying squirrel is def the best powerup in a while. I also like what we are seeing from NSMB2.
On the technical side, things are VASTLY improved and polished overall. This will make an amazing launch title for the WiiU. I'm getting the console SOLELY for this game.
if you would have played the original mario over 20 years ago as a little child.. you would understand that its not just about the graphics.. its about the feeling a good mario game can give you! i cant wait to feel like a little boy again lad!
Also if you were talking about the boost mode with the game pad. It's completely optional. Like the super guide in new super mario bros wii. It's there to make the game accessible to newer players.
Love the new music and environments a lot. A good break from the same old stuff from the New Super Mario Bros. games. This game looks like it's truly worthy of the word "New"in the title.
There is, It also appears to be more like the Mario world one in that it appears to be one large interconnected overworld rather than 8 separate worlds.
Yes you can. But idk if you can play the Wii games on the WiiU gamepad. All the Wii accesoires like the Wii remotes,Nunchuck,Balance board and all the other things are compatible. If you can use the Home menu, mii verse and other things while playing wii games are unknown. Nintendo will organise a WiiU event on a later time this year with the prices, launch games and other things :P.
I certainly hope so. I love that they are introducing third party games. The thing is the Wii was made around the same time as the PS2, Nintendo didn't think it would be a problem. The thing was they let it hang around to long. Also the Sony vs Nintendo rivalry is soon to start again. One thing however is that it will not have backwards compatibility like its predcessor unfourtunately.
Certain games will allow you to play without the tv but not all games will support this feature. Nintendoland, Mario, ME3 allows these options though. Loving every bit of it up to now !
I'm stoked I haven't had a nintendo system since the nintendo64, I went Playstation but I'm looking forward to picking up the WiiU! 2D Mario returns to my TV screen Yay!
Yhea they always hold things secret at the E3. Because the game is still in development and to not spoil all the things. All the footage from the game are from 4/5 levels. Not more. On a later time (I think august) they will reveal more.
I'm pretty sure all single player games support playing with just the Wii U GamePad. In Mario, you can play single player with either the Wii Remote or Wii U GamePad.
the new console has hd graphics, an actual online system and social network, and the new controller with built in touch screen, camera etc (plus actual buttons ). search wii u on youtube
I think part of the problem is that there's been a leap in technology, what with the new console and all, but no real change in the game. But that makes sense when you understand that NSMB U wasn't originally planned to be a full game, but the fans asked for it to be because we love us some co-op Mario. I can understand why people who don't know it's origins expected something new and updated though.
what r u talking about Both Mario Galaxies soundtrack were amazing. Galaxy 1's soundtrack is actually one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. The best songs were the new songs and Nintendo still can do music. Still stuck in the 90's I see.
Doom. Duke Nukem 3D. Wolfenstein was originally released on 1992. Counter-Strike was originally a mod of Half-Life, which was released before COD, in 1999. It was released Retail in 2000. Game. Set. Match.
Mario has come so far. From 8-bit pixels to stunning HD graphics. You can actually see him kind of glow in the moonlight.
This game was one of the games that made my childhood. I miss my childhood...
I love how smooth the glide is on the Squirrel suit. My biggest disappointments about NSMB Wii (even though I absolutely loved that game) was that I didn't find the Propeller and Penguin suits compelling. The Squirrel suit along with the return of Ice Mario is rather satisfying.
Fantastic playthrough! Lovin' the HD
Possibly the best gameplay video I've seen thus far... Baby Yoshi's vocalizations during the music was cute.
Looks like an enhanced NSMBWii for the most part.
so good to watch someone who's actually good @ NSMB demoing the new U version, thanks
I love how they kept some of the original sound effects. It's really a testament to Nintendo's heritage that they can continue to evolve these classic franchises.
I love the dynamic backgrounds, it gives the game so much life :D
The person using the Boost Mode on the Gamepad was actually doing really well, and made clever ideas.
Thanks NWR I always look forward to your gameplay with great audio! Bring out pikmin 3 gameplay soon please!
I just noticed how well done the background picture is.
This game and new super mario bros. 2 both look really awesome!
The HD fireballs...
It's beautiful...
Whats nice is how they actually added that tone to other places to make them hazards, Brilliant Bastards
omg, my childhood just flashed in front of my eyes :)
And this will be like this for another 9 years!
NEW MUSIC THAT ACTUALLY FITS THE LEVEL BEING PLAYED!?!?!
SWEET JESUS! THANK YOU!
I could not turn away. This looks great.
Why the 1-1 demo backound looks different? 3:48
It doesn’t
I love it- It´s my favorite part of the music ever since i first watched the trailer for this game.
I love it! The backgrounds and songs are beautiful, looks very fun, new power-up, new enemies, new gimmicks, new co-op mode... I don't see any reason to hate it.
@enzanblazer those blocks are placed by the user of the wii U gamepad. They do not automatically appear on screen.
WiiU. It launches this Holiday season.
I really like it, reminds me a lot of Super Mario World. And the backgrounds make this game look a lot better than the last one.
Those graphics are so clear!
Mario benefits from HD, you can see more at once, the game looks like pure Mario Fun - hopefully it's huge even bigger than Super Mario World.
On the technical side, things are VASTLY improved and polished overall. This will make an amazing launch title for the WiiU. I'm getting the console SOLELY for this game.
looks beautiful like a hand drawn mario game with no imperfection
the flying squirrel mario plays like a mix of raccoon mario and cape mario, both of which are awesome.
Quiero felicitar al tío que jugo en este vídeo, ya que es el primer vídeo de New Super Mario Bros.U que veo, y que no es un jugador malo el que juega.
4 new super mario bros games, still awesome.
if you would have played the original mario over 20 years ago as a little child.. you would understand that its not just about the graphics.. its about the feeling a good mario game can give you! i cant wait to feel like a little boy again lad!
This actually looks really good!
Gotta love those backrounds
Also if you were talking about the boost mode with the game pad. It's completely optional. Like the super guide in new super mario bros wii. It's there to make the game accessible to newer players.
Wow, a video of someone at E3 who actually knows how to play a Mario game somewhat decently. That's rare.
I can't BELIEVE you threw that baby yoshi into the abyss like that!!
That's amazing! I can't wait until It's available Christmas time!! * o*
So is one person putting those card symbol blocks in places while the other one plays?
Such amazing detail! Nintendo's improving!!
Yes you can. But idk if you can play the Wii games on the WiiU gamepad. All the Wii accesoires like the Wii remotes,Nunchuck,Balance board and all the other things are compatible. Yeah the backgrounds are beautiful.
FINALLY! Someone GOOD plays the demo!
Yeah that's how I feel. I guess I'm saying that I DO want the recent games to be as hard as the classics, that way it'll be a challenge
Well it's often used for multiplayer help modes, if that's what you mean. Nothing new to the Wii U, SMG1/2 had similar multiplayer features.
I played this game 6 years ago on my DS and 3 years ago on my Wii, why would I possibly want to play it again?
Super Mario Galaxy
It had awesome gameplay mechanics and separate situations between galaxies, much like the paper mario series, which also have soul
Certain games will allow you to play without the tv but not all games will support this feature. Nintendoland, Mario, ME3 allows these options though. Loving every bit of it up to now !
The backgrounds look nice! :3
it actually looks really really good!
Omg mario looks awesome in HD!
I'm stoked I haven't had a nintendo system since the nintendo64, I went Playstation but I'm looking forward to picking up the WiiU! 2D Mario returns to my TV screen Yay!
cant wait to get a Wii U and get this! loving the catchy tunes :D
Yhea they always hold things secret at the E3. Because the game is still in development and to not spoil all the things. All the footage from the game are from 4/5 levels. Not more. On a later time (I think august) they will reveal more.
It will be. When you get the game maybe you'll like it!
That music is the bane of my existence.
Great video as always. NWR kills E3 for breakfast lunch and dinner.
I'm pretty sure all single player games support playing with just the Wii U GamePad. In Mario, you can play single player with either the Wii Remote or Wii U GamePad.
This game will look amazing on my Sony CRT.
My dreams of watching an HD remake of NSMB has come true X') X').Just want to play it ASAP :)
doesnt matter what type of game genre/console you like...you gotta love mario... (also,im not a nintendo fan nor a xbox or ps3 fan)
gotta love that background
Wow! Look at that... slightly crisper quality this NEXT GEN system is giving us!
So old comments and this video.. I like it! ;)

No, is for Wii U it's going to be released in november 18th at 299 Us dollars the basic version and the deluxe version at 349.95 Us dollars :)
HD Mario???? I'M SO IN.
tapping the wii u gamepad on the giant Piranha Plants is
the Funnist thing i've ever seen! lol!
"Nice gameplay, I cant wait for the Wii U to come out!"
[You have been corrected]
the new console has hd graphics, an actual online system and social network, and the new controller with built in touch screen, camera etc (plus actual buttons ). search wii u on youtube
Fantastic play man. Awesome.
lol I just realized. We have the exact same TV from panasonic. Nice :D
Kudos to you, sir, for actually being good at the game you're demoing.
first time i noticed that in the DS version it blew my mind XD i love it ever since
i like the new starman music it sounds more realistic than the older version
Cause Star Coins are significant. And Baby Yoshis can only be used during the stage.
Hells Yeah, i've got a second channel dedicated to gaming, although i only have 1 video up at the moment.
as long as the production of these games doesnt slow down the production of a possible 3d mario, i dont mind
Good work, Gui.
There is someone on the Wii U Game Pad, helping the player go along the level.
I think part of the problem is that there's been a leap in technology, what with the new console and all, but no real change in the game. But that makes sense when you understand that NSMB U wasn't originally planned to be a full game, but the fans asked for it to be because we love us some co-op Mario. ... Wow... this looks PHENOMENAL!!!
i see it now the music is like super mario world samemusic in a different tune for each level
Oh my God this makes me actually want to buy a Wii U! 2D Mario always amazes me! it looks so much like SMW, but in a modern way..
First course best run I ever seen on that level
what r u talking about Both Mario Galaxies soundtrack were amazing. Galaxy 1's soundtrack is actually one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. The best songs were the new songs and Nintendo still can do music. Still stuck in the 90's I see.
And In a way, I actually agree with him. I'm not really to psyched to see a re-hash of a game Nintendo has already put out like 4 times already.
It takes time to make a 3D jump'n'run. Iam happy with this 2 new super mario brothers games.
They are still in the game.
Doom.
Duke Nukem 3D.
Wolfenstein was originally released on 1992.
Counter-Strike was originally a mod of Half-Life, which was released before COD, in 1999. It was released Retail in 2000.
Game. Set. Match.
No a second person is not required. It looks like he could have gotten that by jumping down and then using the baby yoshi to float back up.
