I just checked the maintenance log for President Raisi's helicopter. It was very well maintained. Just yesterday morning, it was fully serviced by a Levi Goldstein. Not sure what could have happened.

Crazy how it took them so long to even locate the crash site of the helicopter carrying theor president ubwould think they would be tracking the helicopter and be in a convoy Inman in the usa Marine One features antimissile countermeasures, ballistic armor, secure communication lines, and radar-jamming technology. In case of a crash, it also has self-sealing fuel tanks and energy-absorbing landing gear to help prevent fires and extensive damage.

It's in steep, mountainous terrain. They had to send the drones out because getting to the crash site is basically a mountaineering effort. Honestly, there's not much else they can do but stand around until a climbing team gets to the site and/or the weather clears (for a helicopter).

Probably just misread the altimeter in the fog and crashed into the mountain. Happens quite "often" with helicopters.

They pinged a cellphone that may have survived the crash. Even if it's evident the passengers might be dead, you've got to assume they're alive until proven otherwise. That prevents calling off searches if people are still alive.

Iran's media actually said they made contact with the pilot and one passenger. Hours ago. They where also saying at fire it was just a hard landing. Maybe they did this to keep people from panicking. However, they definitely did air it.
When the news media is reporting about a tragedy soon after it happened, confusion is common. Half the time, the reporters have no idea what they are talking about, and wind up saying things that make little sense without them, or their editors, realizing it.

He's dead, man, and would have no reason to fake it. If anything, it'd project leadership vulnerability and weakness which is something Iran works very hard to avoid entirely. The President of Iran isn't an actual commander-in-chief, it's more a puppet leader for the Supreme Leader and mullahs who actually run the show, but Raisi was in an interesting position since he was supposedly a top contender to replace the Supreme Leader whenever he decides to die. So he didn't fake it. It was a helicopter crash in very horrible weather in a part of the country that's very mountainous and often rural.

I hope this was just a tragic accident and nothing nefarious was done to cause the helicopter to crash.

Usually after accidents like this, stories come out all the time that aren't true because noone really has concrete information.
