This is a very good overview of air plant care! Thanks for the short video, I've never cared for air plants before, but now I feel like I could with ease :D
Glad you enjoyed it!
SUPER helpful and very straightforward!!! Thanks!
Our pleasure to share with you! 😍
Very helpful! Thank you
After soaking these plants you need to shake them out upside down and allow them to dry upside down to prevent rot.
Thank you.
I'm confused! She's also soaking the plants right side up when every video I've watched on 'deep' watering them tells you to put them in upside down!
@@Ann-my1dg when you remove the plants from the water then you shake it very well upside down and then dry them upside down for 2 hours. I usually put them on paper towels or a regular dish towel. I cannot tell you how many of these plants over the years died on me from rot before me doing this. Years ago called idiot experts would just advise people to spray them three times a week and that's it. Spraying or misting only works with extreme desert species like tectorum.
TY!
Great info!
Thank you so much
What kind of fertilizer do you recommend for my Tillandsia? I just got a couple and I am challenging myself to get them to multiply and grow pups. Thank you, also, I love your videos!!
Thanks for the tips
You're very welcome Jeanine
Hi! I live in Boulder which is arid. 10 percent humidity is high! Anyway someone gave me a tillandsia brachycalous that seems to be glued in a little ceramic hedgehog. It won't pull out easily so I am wondering how in the world to water it. Do I just give up on the idea of soaking it since it is impossible to pull out of the planter and mist it several times a week? I feel badly for it as even today, a day after getting it, it looks thirsty. Sigh. Any suggestions would be so appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you. I have a long air plant i got from lowes. i water my air plants every day but it has a yellow leaf on it. Do you know what that means?
Beautiful and so interesting. Lovely plants. I just got one and needed information. I think these are all amazing plants
So nice of you, you can get all air plants here, check it out succulentsbox.com/collections/airplants

Hi Succulents Box, can we grow air plants in water?
I order ed mine on amazon, they were dry and i thought after putting them in water they would go green like yours but nothing.. Are they not good
what sign could you see on your air plant? was it shrivelled or brown? If it was, the plant is exactly thirsty. The easiest way to accomplish this is to soak the entire plant in a bowl or bucket of lukewarm water. You may need to tie the plant to a heavy object to keep it from floating to the top of the water.
You may check whether you follow these steps correctly. Place the bowl in a warm location and let it soak for 12 hours. Remove the plant from the bowl, place it on a layer of paper towels, and allow it to air dry before returning the plant to its regular location.
In case the plant continues to look dry and sickly, repeat the procedure, but this time leave it submerged for only about four hours. Hold the plant upside-down and shake gently to remove excess moisture from the leaves.
Hope this piece of info can help you! 🤗
Thank you for taking the time to make this. Your video was informative and succint--everything a first time air plant parent needs to create a good home...
...and avoid making a bad one, aka catching involuntary plantslaughter charges because you killed your new floral homies trying to bathe them! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Great work.
Thank you! Glad you like our videos 🥰
Just got one of those curly air plants from Lowe’s today and they literally glued the poor plant into the little containers 😔 I’m not a plant expert (hence why I’m here) but I’m guessing that’s not good for the plant.
What type of water do you recommend? Tap? Spring? Distilled?
Hi. The best water option for the air plant is rainwater or filtered water. And don’t use chlorinated or water in the softening system as it can harm your air plant 😉
@@SucculentsBox Thank you !
Can they live indoor without sunlight?
I do not recommended to keep succulents in that condition. Or you could use supplemental grow lights which also help provide the intense light succulents need when natural sunlight is limited.
It's important to note that you need to check that your fertilizer does NOT contain copper to!
Noted. Thank you for your sharing 😍
