I soak my air plants in my cold freshwater fish tank ~once a week for 10-20mins prior to changing the tank water. Then, after a water change, I use the fish water as a light fertiliser to water my other 50+ indoor plants. happy fish, happy plants.

I have made the mistake of killing several of my air plants because I watered them at the crown and within a week they rotted and all the leaves fell off. I have now learned to water them upside down, then let them thoroughly drt upside down on the counter before setting them back up on display. I also mist my larger air plants that are too big to sit upside down for watering once or twice per week. So far I am having success after failing with them!

Eeee LOVE THE CARE GUIDES!! In Florida, I saw air plants all over the trees and telephone wires! The only thing I found wrong in this vid was when you cut the brown edges on the air plants. I would leave a thin layer of brown while cutting so it doesn't brown further. When you cut into green leaf, it starts to brown again soon!

I was so confused by it, it was in a little bit of sand in a circle glass container, and had no roots. I watered it like I would any succulent. It survived for about a year. It suddenly died because white fuzz covered the base of it over night. Sad to see it go. I wish I had known! What an amazing plant, Earth is a crazy place!

Thanks so much, the plant guide that came with my air plant said to *mist it once a week* and it's definitely small and lanky for moister climates.

Thank you so much for sharing this video, I like air plants, and had one several years ago, but really didn't know how to care for it, so of course it died, I would like to try again, and probably will at some point. I love this channel so much you give the best information on house plants and garden plants and all those lovely things we all love but struggle with.

Thanks so much for the info on pups I just found one on my mother air plant outside I hung her upside down with a unusual glass topper that makes it look like an octopus. So excited to have a new one! Been misting mine daily since they are outside. When they come inside I put them in the bathroom to get lots of moisture. Thanks again

Ah, thank you for this!! My mom got me an air plant about a few months ago, and it’s been sitting in the same place for the past 4 months. It’s neglected, sadly. But I’m using this guide to get it hydrated again and make it healthy again!

Excellent advice for those of us experiencing air plants for the first time.
Living in the UK on the south coast, the climate is reasonably temperate, with occasional cold winters. Thanks for such a well prepared and detailed video.
