This is the most BRILLIANT and FANTASTIC and quite seriously the BEST tribute to Iolaus and Hercules that I have ever seen! Its such a relief to find a true tribute to the two of them that isn't romantic...they were brothers in the best sense of the word. And this tribute, again I have to say, is the best I have found in my search on youtube. Thank you so much!

But this IS Romantic, in the truest sense of the word. You just don't know what that means. Quote Zarathustra, "You were right, Hercules, the impulse to create does have a name". The name is Love! And Love has a body. Read Lovers Legends by Andrew Calimach. The only reason the Greeks frowned on same sex love was because they believed a man should not be seen to do or feel "feminine" things, so they masked it in a "Philosophical" ideal. But this is not Greece, it is Thrace.
Iolaus dies because they don't recognize their true love for each other. That's the meaning of every book I ever read. If you love somebody then you never part. The death is symbolic of this misunderstanding, that their bond is either not allowed or "less than" the ideals of their time. Why are you relieved? I think you're missing out on something very important in your own life... I fought the idea of Frodo and Sam the exact same way. But soulmates means MATES, sexual. Not Platonic Pedestals.
What? Personally, I object to that kind of relationship on moral grounds, not cultural or historical grounds. I'm well aware that it's existed for a long, long time. It doesn't make it right. I don't hate people, however, who support this ideal. I hate the ideal, not them. And I bear no ill will towards you at all...I simply don't agree. I'm glad you enjoyed the series, though! :)
