God bless our Truckers hang in there.
🇺🇸👍
unless they dont have jake brakes and dont use chains on vail pass
Id rather be stuck in a truck stop the risk my life or others lives...money isnt everything
A lot were stuck on the roads and couldn't get to a truck stop. My ole man was stuck up there in the road.
@@christinewarren7523 gotta look outside and then say nope it's GONNA turn to chit and stay parked...most of the time. This area could be 40 at dinner break and 6 inches of snow by time it's over
I’m a semi tractor trailer driver and this is why I don’t run this area during this time of year.
I'm a semi tractor trailer driver. This is why I don't run OTR. Lmao
💙🔥💙
You must be an owner operator. ❤
I'm tractor trailer driver 18 years and i don't run in this area at winter time and 5 years I don't run OTR
@ I used to be but now I’m a company driver but I can still pick where I wanna run. They are flexible here.
Weather is one of the hazards a trucker deals with - especially after October!
18 hours is nothing - I've been forced to wait for three days due to bad weather. All a driver can do is park it and wait it out. It sucks, for sure.....
I've sat out 5-6 days for wind warnings in WY; I've sat 5-10 days in western NE or WY because of storms. When I do get rolling, I see them picking up what's left of the dozens of wrecked trucks...
I-70. BEAUTIFUL drive when the weather behaves. hell otherwise.
Lol no it's not🤣🤣
@@kevinbond8966 you've obviously never been on I-70 during a snowstorm
@@LUNITICWILL I70 where this is filmed is not beautiful 🤣
if you idle your engine too long you get fuel slobber (unburned fuel leaking out of your exhaust manifold)
raise your rpms to about 1k it should help .
In Europe most lorries have independent night heaters, between the engine and night heater you should never be cold. Im guessing you have them in the northern states and Canada too ?
Sorry Drivers, I have had that in Cedar Rapids Iowa. For a 4-day ice storm.
I've sat for a week in WY; 10 days once in western NE. More frequently it's 3-5 days.
I've sat out wind warnings in WY for 5-6 days with a lightly loaded conestoga.
@@TexJester-no8th I was Luckey for my 15 years only a few shutdowns.
I feel for them. My other half is a Trucker and has been stuck several times in the past. He is not owner operator , so he actually gets layover pay, which is not much compared to getting paid for loads, but at least makes some money.
For Those Parked Safely...
The Load Can Be Rescheduled.
Freight Crashed In That Situation Will NEVER BE DELIVERED!
Ride It Out Parked Safely!
Let's face it, states are getting tired of cleaning up truck wrecks. Inexperienced, bad drivers, have caused this.
hey, they keep the supply for everyone, as opposed to some lazy dogs like you who stay home and live in your pretend world that you think magically repairs itself. Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
As a Canadian, I don't understand what storm your referring too?? The weather looks fine
I’m Canadian too and the roads look beautiful guess they are not showing the actual storm
THere was a break in the snow but there were many trucks and other vehicles stranded on I70 from the snowfall that fell previously. Then they were expecting another 1 to 2 feet to fall on top of 14 to 18 inches out on the plains of Colorado.
The issue isn’t the parking lot dummy…
@@Travis12861 😅
Yeah I plow roads in Tug Hill area and upstate New York and doesn’t look too bad to me
I can only imagine how the snow is gonna be in winter.
My normal stop in Bennet doesn't so look normal today 😮
Some Truckers are driving way too fast for conditions..
...and so are smaller vehicles who cause way more accidents. Otherwise known by truckers as, "4wheelers".
@@deko2485ding ding ding you are absolutely right
Supposed to visit family in Breckenridge first week in December. Seeing and hearing this is making me nervous and rethinking those plans.
18 hours ain’t bad. OTR drivers often taken 34 hour resets…
Unless you are just coming off a reset.
@@christinewarren7523 now that’s rough😵💫
Yep, that’s one of over the road trucking hazards😖. Use good judgement guys it is not worth the risk to push on.
Well thats truckin . There's good months and bad months . There's break downs , consrtuction delays , load delays . Lay over delays , wreaks ,and bad weather , and closed roads and passes . . All you can do understand. Thats truckin ..
Its soo cold at night now and with no heat in my building i use a artic camping sleeping bag.
i hate hot hot heat but i am not ready for cold
Why no heat in the building?
To go to OKC he probably should have just headed North on 25 and then turned at 80 East then US 83 South in Nebraska in order to get around the snowstorm.
Too smart
Some things they have to follow a specific route. Especially if it's ag product for feed. It's for biosecurity.
Nahhh, Should have gone East to 95, then south to Florida Turnpike, west to 75, then North to wherever.
By then, the Produce would have ReSeeded, and He'd have TWICE THE LOAD.
@@reformcongressBullshit. COMPANY ROUTES THE SHORTEST DISTANCE.
Wow! That’s an elevation gain of 93 feet over 93 miles. Wonder why no one noticed? 😂
Yeah, threw me for a loop. I was wondering how far up in elevation Limon was to Denver. We lived in Colorado at the foothills which are higher than Denver or Limon. Heck, years ago, my uncle was teh Conservation Officer in Limon. Was nothing for us to pile in the car and drive in the snow. Geez, these reporters make it so dramatic.
That's nothing were I am from that's just a dusting we don't stop for stuff like that until there is enough to start to drift up but I know that people forget how to drive in the snow every year when the first dump happens hey keep driving like it's summer and dry roads and cause a ton of wrecks and that is the biggest problem.
I never realized how many truckers there are. Wish someone could feed them hot meals.
Pulling all the 👳🏿♀️ out of the ditches😂😂
😂😂😂 yep you know it
They didn't listen to the forecast!! 🙄
Freight has to move.
No, drivers nowadays are ignorant. That load isn't worth my life out here
@AccountInactive When bad weather hits, I would call the customer and let them know. I would tell them that I figure they'd rather have their stuff a few days late rather than scattered all over the road. I usually hauled EXPENSIVE manufacturing equipment in a conestoga, equipment that usually took 6 months or more to build and can cost north of $5 million......
Truthfully Denver never got anything they were forecasting
Eat & sleep
That's all most drivers do anyway while gaining weight and becoming a walking heart attack. I am a driver. Most of these guys aren't too bright and can't trip plan for these situations to save their lives
And please your self.

Prayers
@gloriajones1548 Lot of good that does. We prayed your mum swallowed one more time... yet here you are.
When I ran Colorado there was a few nights I never made it over Watkins Pass
This is why I don't go west from October until may,
If l had to choose between a truck and a car to be stuck in snow, I'd be truck everytime. You have your engine to keep warm, plus a night heater system, cooking facilities and food, and bed to sleep in, that is if you're a long haul driver and keep your truck topped with emercency kit and provisions in the winter months...
Why CDOT don't clean the high way
Really?? CDOT or any other agency can't defeat mother nature. It is what it is, I've been shut down because of weather and luckily I was at a TS and not stuck on the Interstate, you take the good with the bad and roll with it. Frustration and anger will get you no where.
Because the landscape in eastern Colorado is barren and windswept . In the winters , sometimes the blowing snow causes complete white-out conditions !
Imagine driving along and suddenly you can't see 10 feet in front of your vehicle . Do you plow into someone else stopped on the highway OR do you stop
and have someone behind you slam into you from behind . . . very dangerous !
It's not as easy as it sounds. As soon as it's cleaned here comes another batch covering what was just cleaned 10 minutes ago plus the wind causing snow drifts on whiteout conditions isn't the easiest
Well then the DOT needs to do a better job for truckers by keeping the roads/highways clear at all times without delay. Loads need to be where they are on time otherwise big money is involved and people need their products.
A partial list of people Polis hates, Eastern Colorado and Truckers.
Colorado needs to open truck stop resting areas ..truck stop to rest areas nothing for truckers in Colorado...im a trucker i used to go to Denver to Cheyenne off 287 new company now la to fl and im good but both these states are like Colorado no truck parking but they want their goods
Oh, it snowed in Colorado. Let’s declare an emergency Snow in Colorado. What is the governor drinking this time whatever it is take it away from him. 🤣
Good one. Normal snow for CO this time of year.
I should be driving through there for a move come Monday or Tuesday, hope it is all worked out.
Wait the gas 2.97 dollars
Colorado can keep the cold and the snow we don't need it in the great lake area not until January or February
Im a truck driver and there is no reason for drivers to be caught in a snow storm with all the technology we have available to us. Use the damn weather apps drivers.
Big problem is the newbies are cowed by their dispatchers, and think they'll get fired if they sit out a storm. I would tell them "You are the captain of your ship, that truck. YOU have the final word whether that truck moves. If you don't feel safe, PARK IT. If dispatch gives you grief, call Safety, and tell them that you don't feel safe because [insert reason]. Be sure and use the phrase I don't think it's safe. At that point, the company cannot legally do ANYTHING to you. If they threaten you, call the highway patrol or the federal marshals."
I've been trucking 40 years, almost 5 million safe miles. (Recently retired..)
what, colorado, november, snow?
Who'd'a'thunk it???
Snow Storms, yet? How is that possible? Donald said so often we have no climate change...
Now sitting the weekend too for some that big money trucking
Most since 1983? Get ready for another wet winter....
could that be the Mike Love that worked for the BLM , at the Bundy Ranch incident ?
No checking the weather apps. And also possibly being bullied by dispatch. Our company hauls milk between Hartley TX and the Aurora organic up in Platteville. All loads for the past couple of days got rerouted down to Hutchinson. Both drivers and dispatch keep an eye on the weather apps and CDOT here. Other companies, that sort of cooperation is lost.
I recently retired after 40 years. In my last few years, my regular run was from Columbus, NE, to Baker City, OR, and back. Much of the time I had light loads in a conestoga. I think I may have sat for storms as much as I was driving in winter!
I always watched the weather and chose a spot I wanted to sit at rather than wait until the last moment (and not find a safe spot!). I'd then call dispatch and let them know; next call was to the customer... They were always happy when they knew I wasn't going to risk their equipment in crappy weather!
Look at the amount of snow their filming? This is a disaster?
Conserve Fuel Colorado ⛽️
Think about all the homeless people i hope everyone safe
Stuck because of , or stuck in. Not stuck for a snow storm😅
In Colorado? What a surprise.
This year has been absolutely ridiculous with the road closures. Sounds like CDOT is dropping the ball
More like CALDOT with all the California transplants. Have to say though, they have had a lot of black ice.
Aint no biggie if you are wearing a tshirt
Is this winter? How does truckers master winter in Scandinavia with huge amounts of snow? 🤔
Bruh the roads are GARBAGE in eastern Colorado! Add rough weather and it’s a disaster as proven these past few days! Our infrastructure better improve ASAP because it’s sad how as soon as you enter ANY state East if us the roads are nice and not pitted and patched over dozens of times
I want my Amazon package and I want it now!
😂😂😂😂 they want to go home just as much.
Karma for the state coming as weather.
That price of fuel ?
You live in California?
Let’s pray 💙🦅 the snow melts…. the more days sitting is a dollar wasted and there is power in prayer…so get to it because this could affect one’s grocery community
I feel sorry for the truckers getting stuck in that shit state.
Dude is standing in 1” of snow what are we doing here, these are grown ass adults
Anchor Hair heavy Weather Resistant. This technology has actually existed for decades.
Snow? It's only November
If Trump was president at this time, this would have never happened.
Colorado should not be used for trucks
I guess you grow your own food pansy

enjoy your weather folks , it's the only one you've got..
OMG gas is $2.97.
I25 CS???
How ironic that if you put many of this stuff on trains the railroads would keep on moving to their destinations.
Funny. Ive never had a train deliver to my house before. And a majority of distribution centers don't have rail access either. You're the ones that wanted your d*ldos shipped from dc to door in 2 days. It won't get there by train in 2 days. Think before you speak.
I was a driver for 22 years - all the years I was driving , most of the railroads were filled to capacity . . . also ,
it was tough for those trains to deliver to all the Home Depots and Walmart's and all the other big box stores . . . .
Hmm i didnt realize they had railroad tracks that went right into all the grocery stores, lumber yards, gas stations, clothing stores, electronics stores, home depots, etc etc etc etc etc etc ya, have a seat.
Everyone knows limon area is always hit hard
Trinidad all town closed !!!
I plow roads in upstate New York. If that’s a paralyzing snow storm all I can say is Colorado your highway departments are a bunch of babies That is a 6 hour shift for us
It's a dusting of snow.. what kind of drivers are these guys??
The new generation.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's what you see at the TS. But when the storm hit Wednesday I 70 East of Denver was a frozen ice rink so it wasn't a dusting. Has nothing to do with the drivers CDOT made the call to shut it down so what were they going to do???

RAINS IN PANHANDLE TEXAS IS FLOODS FLOODS AND MIRE FLOODS
We were ,outwest, couple years ago ?& couldn’t believe that they had road blocking drop-arms to close the freeway ! !…If you’re from out there,& haven’t been,” back-east”…( in winter) ,you’d be shocked ! …here in N. CEN. INDIANA, we can get snow over 24 inches on the level ! !….AND THE ROADS ARE NEVER EVER ! Closed ! ,they just plough them 24 hrs. A day ! !…will you see cars stuck ? Ya ,but the road is NEVER CLOSED ! !
And temps in Wyoming can get to -20°F, winds 40-75 mph, and feet of snow, and these storms can last for DAYS. Add to this the elevations - 4,000-9,000 feet; in Colorado, I-70 elevation hits 11,000 feet and more. I've had to sit out some storms over the last few years for 5-10 days because of these storms.
Ya, throw a 50 mph wind behind that snow, and see how you like it lol. If you slide off in indiana, you walk two blocks to the gas station and your safe. Slide off, or gel up out west, and your dead in a couple hours. Im an otr owner operator. I carry a lil buddy heater and 5 1 lb bittles of propane in my truck every winter. Ya have to be careful you dont die from carbon monoxide poisoning, but it will keep you alive. Out west aint no joke. Better HOPE you have cell coverage too.
Yes, being stuck in commieorado sucks.
it happens every year, oh well.
I'd keep Cody warm.
Wait and fart.
Chain up boys.
Boss told us he better not find out we put chains on his tires - or we can clean out our truck. The chains were there for looks, for the police to see. He didn't care if the chains rusted into lumps. If it was bad enough to chain up, it's bad enough to go to bed.

They have the road closed . The state Patrol is out there - they monitor gates across the highway .
There are huge fines and impoundment of vehicle if you try to go around a closed highway in Colorado .
I was a driver for 22 years and was based in Denver . Make a foolish mistake out there when the highway is closed . . . . .
Ya, no thanks, i dont need a 1500 dollar fine for driving on a interstate thats closed, to prove im a MAN! P.S. chains are to get you OUT of trouble, NOT to get you in WORSE trouble
