Retired FDNY Fire Boat John D. McKean Is Now a Floating Museum

  • The John D. McKean was an FDNY fire boat from 1955 until 2010. It was sold at auction and then restored so it can go on display as a floating museum. In 2001, it played a major role in the response to the Sept. 11 attacks. In 2009, it responded to the Miracle on the Hudson.

      Harvey, as well as the firefighter and all other marine units in the FDNY also helped pump water. Harvey is still in New York today.

    what a beautiful boat, god bless the F.D.N.Y. and all that gave there lives on 9/11 .
