- The John D. McKean was an FDNY fire boat from 1955 until 2010. It was sold at auction and then restored so it can go on display as a floating museum. In 2001, it played a major role in the response to the Sept. 11 attacks. In 2009, it responded to the Miracle on the Hudson.

what did john j harvey fireboat doing
Harvey, as well as the firefighter and all other marine units in the FDNY also helped pump water. Harvey is still in New York today.
what a beautiful boat, god bless the F.D.N.Y. and all that gave there lives on 9/11 .
